The Untouchable Ex-Wife

Leia cleared her throat awkwardly.

"Yes, he had rather advanced thoughts before. But honestly, the texts he sent me lately show that he has abandoned those ideas.

"What do you mean?" Renee asked curiously.

She hadn't gotten in touch with Liarn lately, but he had sent her a letter inquiring about her affairs some time ago. However, he rarely brought up his situation. He just mentioned that he was doing very well, and told her to not worry about him.

Even so, Renee would of course worry about him. Liam had sacrificed himself to help Renee and Joanne escape that hellish place.

Renee had no idea how he was doing lately. She had wanted to visit him many times, but real- life circumstances kept her from doing so.

"Is he doing fine? Is he having any problems?" Renee asked Lela eagerly.

"I guess...he's doing fine." Leia stammered.

Finally, she failed to hold back the truth from Renee.

"Actually, he texted me a few days ago and told me that he's going to marry the daughter of the master. I was shocked. He never wanted to get married. I was worried he might be

forced into it by the barbaric master, but he said he wasn't. He even invited me to his wedding."

"He's going to get married?!" Renee's eyes widened. Although it was unexpected, it made

sense.

Still, it came as a surprise because Liam had always claimed that he was single. Now, he was willing to get married. It was strange.

Then again, it was reasonable Liam had sacrificed his freedom to help Renee and Joanne leave. Sooner or later, he would be forced to get married.

For an unknown reason, Renee was sad. She felt that Liam's sudden marriage was not what he wanted. He must be forced to consent.

Ren, are you unhappy?' Leia asked.

She could feel the change in Renee's mood.

She said carefully, 'Liam asked me not to tell you about this because he's afraid you'd get upset. But I think you should know because you're very important to him."

"I'm not upset. I'm just a little worried," Renee said seriously. "I'm happy he's getting mamied and is embracing happiness boldly. I'm just worried he might be forced into it."

"That won't be." Leia waved Renee's concerns away, and added candidly, "Don't you know my brother? He's smart. If he doesn't want to get married, no one can force him."

Renee was still worried. "Why did he ask you to keep it from me, then? You don't understand

"No, it isn't dangerous at all," Lela said. "From the videos he sent me, it's rather comfortable. I guess he didn't want me to tell you because he was worried you might feel disappointed."

She pursed her lips.
