Chapter 255
Chapter 255
Charlie laid out his plans in detail, and Aiden agreed to it and was willing to cooperate with him.
Charlie pointed out when they finished communicating, “Zachary, the police discovered that your
pharmaceutical company is operating in violation of regulations. You and the company have equal
responsibility for it despite Jeffrey being the culprit. I’d be abusing my authority for personal gain if I
were to help you.”
Naturally, the brothers had to reach a verdict since they were ostensibly discussing it.
Charlie sighed. “What a pity it is for those legitimate drugs that have obtained patents and production
licenses.”
He genuinely felt sorry for it.
Jeffrey had also developed numerous medicinal drugs in the
pharmaceutical company to cover up the fact that he was producing illegal ones.
It would be a grave loss for needy patients if the medicinal drugs and the company were banned.
Cecilia uttered, “The solution is simple. You can sell those drugs directly to other pharmaceutical
companies with your patent, while the finished. products that have already been manufactured can be
sold at the cost price.”
Of course, Charlie knew those drugs could be sold, but doing so required permission from the police.
Jeffrey had committed a felony, and it was nothing unusual for the police to seize his drugs.
The police could very well ignore Charlie’s request to reclaim the drugs since his identity as the
pharmaceutical company’s boss was suspicious enough.
Aiden understood Charlie’s concerns. “I will inform the police about this. You may do as you see fit
once it is confirmed that there’s nothing wrong with those drugs.”
While he’d intervened, the release of the drugs still hinged on the police’s investigative results, clearing
him from being labeled as abusing his authority for personal gain.
Charlie breathed a sigh of relief. “I would have enough capital to start afresh if I managed to sell those
drugs.”
He looked toward Cecilia and asked, “Cecilia, do you want to partner with
me?”
The partnership alluded to both of them joining Wolf Killer together. Cecilia caught on and immediately
agreed, “Why not? The
pharmaceutical industry is extremely profitable, and I sure need the money.”
“Great. I’ll contact you once I’ve reopened the pharmaceutical company.”
He got to his feet at that. “It’s getting late. I’ve been busy the entire day and will be heading home to
rest.”
Aiden stood as well since there was more he needed to ask Charlie.
“Let’s go. I need to settle some business downstairs, and you might as well talk to me about Jeffrey on
the way.”
“Okay.”
Aiden whispered to Cecilia after Charlie had left, “Ceci, Jeffrey won’t live long if he doesn’t take the
antidote. You should go to the laboratory and help him develop it. But withhold it from him for now and
let him suffer first!”
Cecilia nodded. “Okay, I’ll check in on Grandma Elaine and finish feeding her the soup before going to
the laboratory.”
“Okay, you can manage your own time. Jeffrey won’t be dying so easily anyhow.”
He left Evan’s ward and went with Charlie to take the elevator downstairs. Aiden avoided the
surveillance cameras and used Morse code to inquire about the incident in which the members of Wolf
Killer intended to use Cecilia to swap the antidote.
Charlie nodded in admission.
He had made the call while John conveyed the shareholders‘ intentions to him.
They didn’t care about its feasibility and only valued it as an extra chance to capture Cecilia.
It was a superb opportunity for Charlie, whereby he could logically get ahold of Cecilia without arousing
the suspicion of the stakeholders. He’d chosen not to speak of it in the ward, as Hayden had wasted
too
much time.
John would find it fishy if he kept going around in circles disputing about the issue of the
pharmaceutical company.
Little had he foreseen Aiden bringing it up when he’d decided to broach the topic the following day.
Aiden refrained from going on a spiel and stuck to expressing his ideas due to time constraints.
The two brothers were on the same page and hit it off straight away. Aiden returned to Evan’s ward
after Charlie departed from the hospital and revealed the outcome of his brief conversation with Charlie
to Evan. Evan urged, “Aiden, this plan needs to be implemented quickly before it’s too late.”
“I agree. The stand–in will arrive in Ningham tonight. We’ll set the ball rolling once Ceci has verified
him. But before that, we’ll need Charlie to gain the trust of the remaining two shareholders.”
Aiden whipped out his phone to dial the police chief of Hestrya once he finished speaking.
Hestrya was currently in a state of turmoil.
Hayden’s men incited rumors, which caused a large group of people who’d been Hayden’s
beneficiaries to riot at the police headquarters.
The media portals also took advantage of the trending incident and widely spread news about how the
police stripped Hayden of his human rights by forbidding his lawyer from meeting him.
Hayden’s lawyer was even more ruthless and sued Hestrya’s police chief directly.
Fortunately, the court case needed to be scheduled. Hence, the police chief only received a subpoena
thus far.
While the police chief on duty steeled himself to withstand the pressure, doing so for 48 hours was
challenging.
Receiving Aiden’s call was like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for him.
He wiped the sweat from his head and questioned, “Commander Shaw, what can I do for you?”
Aiden detected the exhaustion in his tone.
“I bring good news. You need not withstand the pressure any longer. I
will give you a reason to arrest Hayden.”
A weight was lifted off the police chief’s shoulders at his words. “Commander, what steps should I
take?”
“Just do this…”
Another major incident had taken place in Hestrya shortly after they finished their conversation.
The police cracked down on People’s Charity Organization, which was established by Hayden, and
apprehended every one of its staff, from the janitor up the ranks to the person–in–change.
The police issued a notice just as the charity’s confused “beneficiaries” were about to demand justice
on behalf of Zachary.
The notice stated that the philanthropist, Hayden, transported drugs via donations during the 20 years
he’d been actively doing charity work.
He covered more than nine states and 20 cities with nearly 20 thousand victims.
Moreover, the whole charity organization was a major distribution center for addictive opioids, with an
illegal profit of 1 trillion dollars!
The police even found up to eight tons of addictive opioids.
The numbers only included the ones that had been found out. Some still remained hidden or had been
sold long ago.
All of it added up to a horrifying amount.
The entire city was in an uproar once the police notice was released. Nonetheless, those “charity
beneficiaries” were unconvinced.
There was no room for doubt when the police headquarters published the evidence.
Such a large–scale operation shook not just Hestrya but the entire country.
News of it soon reached the headquarters of Wolf Killer and their two other shareholders.
They were apoplectic when they saw the balance of around 1 trillion dollars of dirty money in the
charity foundation’s account book that had been found, as Hayden only handed around 400 billion
dollars over to Wolf Killer.
In other words, he had pocketed more than half of the profit for himself.

One of the men with blonde hair and blue eyes smashed the coffee cup in front of him.
His anger subsided significantly after that, and he directed his question to his companion. “Could the
account book presented by the police be forged?”
His companion shook his head firmly. “The Clusia police wouldn’t forge evidence shown to the public
as it’d be easily exposed in court.”
The officials of Clusia were an egotistical bunch and wouldn’t risk doing things that would put
themselves to shame.
Moreover, there was no reason for the police in Hestrya to falsify the evidence.
No one would be able to find out that Hayden was the shareholder of Wolf Killer because of how
cautious he was.
Therefore, the only explanation was that the Hestrya police had coincidentally found out about Hayden
while rounding up the drug dealers and had him apprehended before cracking down on the charity
foundation.
The shareholder’s logic was sound.
Little did he know that he’d gotten it all wrong.
The account book was fake and had indeed been forged by the Hestrya police chief.
Hayden didn’t cheat Wolf Killer at all and had been honestly turning in the money he earned from
selling drugs all that while.
