Chapter 924 Honor
Chapter 924 Honor
Jonah was gasping for breath as he pleaded, "Boss Nicholson! Can you release Ken? Will you not listen even if I beg you?!"
"Master Lawson, there's no need to beg me so desperately. We will meet soon," Kingsley replied, his eyes devoid of emotion and his voice icy cold.
"Save your pleas for when we meet. Who knows? Maybe it may actually work and save your own life."
"You!" Jonah didn't expect Kingsley to be so unyielding!
Before he could say anything else, the phone line went dead!
Kingsley hung up the phone, threw it on the ground, and said to Mickey, "That's enough. Stop."
"Yes!" Mickey took a step back, grinning and shaking his bloodied arm.
His fist was already covered in blood.
Still, since Kingsley didn't tell him to stop earlier, he had gritted his teeth and continued swinging his fist.
"Mr. Lawson, how are you feeling?" Kingsley approached Kendall and asked mildly, "Are you still planning to take Miss Ansley home?"
"I-I wouldn't." Kendall forcefully shook his head as he slurred his words.
Most of his teeth had been knocked out courtesy of Mickey's tender ministrations. Plus, his face was swollen, causing his speech to be unclear.
Kingsley lightly brushed his shoulder with his finger. "Oh, dear. Your clothes are covered in blood. So, do you mind the dirt now?"
"N-No." Kendall's eyes were filled with nothing but desperation as he mumbled, "B-Boss Nicholson, please let me go. I know I was in the wrong."
As he spoke, another tooth fell out of his mouth, accompanied by a burst of fresh blood.
Kingsley shook his head. "You shouldn't be apologizing to me."
Kendall, who had been dazed from the beating, suddenly felt a sense of relief upon hearing Kingsley's reply.
He quickly turned to Yulia and stuttered, "M-Miss Ansley, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have forced you to serve me. I shouldn't have used schemes and tricks..."
Then, he looked at Ethan. "K-Kid, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have mistreated and beaten you over a small matter..."
Little Ethan merely looked at him with an unusually serious expression on his face. "It's okay. My grandpa says that being able to admit mistakes and change is a good thing."
Kendall's nose suddenly felt a tingling sensation after listening to Ethan's words.
He suddenly felt that he had wasted almost 30 years of his life!
He couldn't even compare to that of a five-year-old when it came to being a decent person.
Meanwhile, Rayden stepped forward and asked Kingsley, "Boss Nicholson, now that Kendall has been punished… What do you plan to do with him?"
Rayden's intention in asking this question was to express his hope that Kingsley wouldn't really take Kendall's life.
Even though he knew that Kingsley was a military man, he still had some reservations in his heart.
He couldn't bear to witness someone being killed right in front of him.
Kingsley understood Rayden's hidden meaning.
So, he glanced at Rayden, his eyes filled with admiration.
Nonetheless, he was also puzzled as to why Chief Moss had sent someone as straight-laced as Rayden to infiltrate the Cole Gang.
After all, one had to be slick enough to blend in with the enemy in order to become a successful undercover agent!
What Kingsley didn't know was that when the police station decided to select someone from Action Team 2 to be sent undercover in the Cole Gang, those slick individuals had already bribed their captain.
None of them wanted to do the kind of job that could cost them their lives!
Only Rayden, who was straightforward, actually believed that eliminating the Cole Gang would benefit the people. In fact, he had even volunteered for the job. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Captain Samson Diaz of Action Team 2 took advantage of the situation and sent Rayden out.
Although Rayden was an honorable man, he was fortunate enough to be intelligent and loyal. So, he made no noticeable slip-ups during his mission.
Instead, he quickly rose through the ranks and became the Ivory Fang Sect leader.
Kingsley glanced at Rayden and pondered before broaching the topic gently, "In your eyes, perhaps this person doesn't deserve to die. But now that he has seen you helping me, you... should understand what I mean, right?"
