Lamont was deep in thought when he heard Paige talking to Dawson, "Joseph, you don't have to worry about my safety anymore now that I have Uncle Saunders as my personal bodyguard. He's a well- known master in martial arts, so I'm sure he'll be able to protect me well!"

"Really?" Joseph's gaze snapped to Lamont when he heard the news, "That's great! Please take care of her then, Mr. Saunders!" Joseph had humbled himself to call Lamont 'Mr. Saunders', and he had spoken to the latter without any hint of arrogance.

However, Joseph should have already known that Lamont was Archer's bodyguard and it was weird that Joseph was calling him 'Mr Saunders'.

In fact, Joseph should've referred to him as 'Uncle Saunders' just like Paige or 'Mont' if he knew that Lamont was Archer's personal bodyguard.

However, instead of using the two names, Joseph had opted to refer to him as 'Mr. Saunders'. Did Joseph know that Lamont was more than just a bodyguard?

Joseph couldn't have found out, could he?

The only people who knew about his real identity were Archer, Natalie, and Lucian!

Ignoring his thoughts, Lamont replied Joseph with a smile, "I will. President Garcia has ordered me to protect Ms. Saunders, and I'll heed her instructions well. On behalf of our family, thank you for also protecting Ms Anderson and taking care of her all this time, Sir Joseph!"

Joseph's smile froze a little as he knew that Lamont was referring to him as an outsider, "Of course I

would take care of Paige, she's my future wife after all!"

Paige glanced at both Joseph and Lamont before pouting, "We'll all be one big family in the future, so let's drop the formalities alright?"

"Alright, Miss," Lamont answered.

"Sure!" Joseph agreed immediately after he saw that Lamont had gone along with Paige's request.

"Uncle Saunders and Lucian will be moving into our villa to keep me updated on my father's plans, would that be alright?" Paige asked as she looked at Joseph pleadingly.

"Of course, anything my wife says goes," Joseph answered playfully.

"Alright, Joseph and I will be leaving first then. See you later when you're ready to move in then, Uncle Saunders!"

"See you!" Lamont stood up as Joseph and Paige left the coffee shop. The couple was flirting affectionately with each other as they made their way out. Joseph had also thoughtfully bucked Paige's seatbelt for her once they got on his car.

Lamont only got on his car after watching the both of them drove off with squinting eyes.

He lit a cigarette and took a long puff from it to calm himself down before reaching out to his phone to call Archer.

Archer picked up his phone but his surroundings were noisy, "What's up?"

"Paige is dating your nephew Joseph, and this is why Hayden had wanted to get rid of her."

"'What?" Archer exclaimed in shock, "How did the both of them end up together?"

"Right? How did Joseph even manage to catch Paige's eye? He's just a pampered and useless brat that has nothing but his good looks!"

Archer paused before answering Lamont slowly, "Joseph is not as useless as you think he is!"

"Why do you say so?" Lamont retorted.

Archer's reply was brief, "He did make it into the world's top academy during his teens, and this isn't something that anyone can achieve right?"

"Look Archer, he might be a smart child, but you know about his terrible attitude! Joseph is a playboy and flirts with women everywhere he goes with that handsome face of his. With so many past scandals, how can we be sure that he's the right husband for Paige?" Lamont could not point out any of Joseph's flaws, but his gut was telling him that he shouldn't mess with Joseph.

On the other hand, Archer had no hostility against his nephew, "We shouldn't meddle too much into their relationship. If Paige is really in love with Joseph and is determined to be his wife, why should we break them up then?"

"I'm not saying that we should break them up, it's just that Hayden is determined to separate them by getting rid of Paige! If they did not have deep feelings for each other, Paige could go on with her life as

usual after their break up. But it's so obvious that she's madly in love with Joseph, and if Hayden insists on breaking them up, the shock would probably be too much for her."

"Let's stop worrying about them. I understand where you're coming from, but if they broke up just because of Hayden, then it means that their relationship just wasn't meant to be right?"

"Joseph is too young and inexperienced to stand a chance against Hayden's tricks,"

"Lamont, stop being so biased. Joseph's not a typical rich brat."

"Why do you think so?"

"When he was a child, Joseph was left in a foreign country to fend for himself as he tried to fight against his brother's bullying. Do you still think that he's a typical brat now that you know managed to live through such a terrible ordeal? If Joseph could live through Charles' cruel means, he probably stands a chance against Hayden."

"Joseph is going against Hayden? That useless brat?" Lamont questioned as he continued to disagree with Archer.

"Lamont, you can't read a book by its cover. I met Joseph once ten years ago while I was working overseas. And do you know what he was doing?"

"What?"

"He was washing dishes at a restaurant," Archer chest tightened as he recalled the scene.

He had been shocked to see Joseph, the next head of the powerful Dawson family washing dishes in a restaurant for his own survival.

Lamont fell silent after hearing Archer's words. Archer was right, a pampered brat would never wash dishes at a restaurant.

"Charles had wanted to play the 'brotherly' role by being responsible for Joseph when he went overseas. However, the other family members never knew about how Charles had tried to make life a living hell for Joseph during that time. Do you know what happened to the servants that had been sent to take care of Joseph?"

Archer paused before continuing, "Charles had ordered for two of them to be locked up in prison and the other two were beaten until they were crippled. Anyways, they were all unable to take care of Joseph, and Joseph was left to fend for himself instead."

Lamont was shocked, "Are you telling me that these incidents are happening because Joseph wants to get revenge on them?"

"Well, we all know that Joseph's bullies suffered tremendously. There's been no direct evidence linked to Joseph so far, but it is strange, isn't it?"

"You're right. I'll make sure to be careful around Joseph and report any changes to you immediately."
