Isadora’s POV

My head feels heavy. I slowly open my eyes and I notice I’m in a hospital bed. what the hell? what happened? I look to my left and see Rafael asleep in the chair next to he bed. His hair is messy and his eyes have bags under them.

“Rafeal?” I manage a low raspy whisper. He shoots up from the chair and looks at me.

“Isadora !?” He yells, grabbing me and hugging me light.

“Baby I can’t breathe.” He losens his grip and kisses me.

“I missed you so much kitten.” He was on the verge of tears.

“You are never doing something like that again. You hear me?”

“What happened? Did we get him?” He shook his head.

“You got him to confess but the moment he said he was going to kill you, I snapped. You were hurt really bad. You have a couple broken ribs and a dislocated hip. Your body couldn’t handle the trauma you went through and you slipped into a cona. You’ve been out for a couple weeks.” Suddenly a nurse walks in and gasps.

“Oh good, you’re awake!’There are some people here who want to see you.” She opened the door and in walked the whole family.

“Isa!” Mirella screams and jumps onto the bed throwing her arms around me.

“Hi princess easy, I’m still a little sore. I wince but hug her hack.

“Papa said you were hurt really lsa.” I nod. She pulls a piece af paper out of her pocket and shows me a drawing of two stick figures holding hands, walking in a garden. “I drew it for you so it would make you feel better.” She smiles and points to the first figure. “That’s Santi he’s the warrior and that you as the fairy queen, holding his hand.”Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

“It’s beautiful! I love it so much. Thank yOu Mirella,” She plants a light kiss on my cheek and crawls over to Rafael.

“AS soon as we get some blood work and a few other tests done, you Can go home. I’ll be back after your visit.” I nod and she leaves.

“So how’s our new resident badass feeling?” Alfonzo asked,

“A little stiff and very sore but overall am alright. Is everyone else okay”

“Yes. Unfortunately for Rodrigo he knows nothing about how to lead. His men were very disorganized.” Emiliano adds.

After everyone left, the nurse returned. She drew some blood made me pee in a cup and did normal vital check ups. Rafael decided to crawl next to me and watch some TV. The nurse asked him to leave but he gave her a glare and she left him alone. After a while his phone rings.

“I’ll be right back baby” He kisses my forehead and leaves the room. As I wait for him to get back. the nurse walks in.

“Ms, Cortez. your vitals are all normal and your blood work came back clean. You will have to take it easy for a few more weeks as your ribs continue healing, but you will make a full recovery. You may leave when you’re ready. Oh and congratulations”

“Congratulations?” I asked confused. “On what?”

“You’re pregnant. About three weeks. It’s still very early but your urine sample came back positive.” She smiled and left the room.

WHAT !? How am I going to tell Rafael? I’m not going to keep this from him but does he even want a child? Is he ready for one? Am I? Lost in thought the door clicks open and startles me,

“You okay?” He asks. I nod nervously.

“The nurse came by and said I was good to go.” He walked over to me and picked me up bridal style, kissing me on the head.

“Good. Let’s go home kitten.”

–At The Hotel–

As soon as I walk in. Josie hugs me. “I missed you like crazy!

“Easy J, I’m still a little sore.” I wince and she lets me go.

“Sorry. We need to have a girls day. Just you and me.” I nod and she excitedly claps her hands.

“I’m gonna go talk with my dad. I’ll be right back.” He kisses me on thc head. I grab his neck and pull him into a kiss.

“I love you.”

“I love you too baby” i let him go and watch him walk around the corner. I turn back to Josie who is smiling.

“You two are couples goals for real.”

“I necyd to tell you something.” I grabbed her hand and dragged her onto the back.

“What’s wrong Isa? You’re shaking.”She grabs my hands and holds them. I sigh.

“I’m pregnant.” She stood there, eyes wide and mouth agape. my god! Does Rafael know?”

I shook my head.

“I just found out at the hospital. I’m scared Josie. I don’t know how he will react. Am I even ready to be a mom? Does he even want a kid?” I realized I could hear my heart beating in my ears. My chest felt tight and my breathing increased. Is this a panic attack?

“Okay, calm down. Breathe Isa. Rafael loves you. Probably more than what would be considered normal. I’m sure he is going to be thrilled, and you have everyone here to help you. We got your back babe.” She said smiling. I wrapped my arms around her and squeezed. “You’re gonna have to tell him.”

“I know. I just don’t know how.”

“Just spit it out. That’s the best way.” I keep imagining him yelling, getting upset and walking away. My mind is going to dark places out of panic. The sliding door opens and Rafael walks out. He picks me up gently and spins me around.

“Alright Josie, I’ve come to claim my girl back. You can talk to her later, right now, she’s mine.” Josie giggled and nodded. He walked me to our room and locked the door behind him. He layed down and pulled me close to his chest, stroking my arm. The weight was eating at me. I have to tell him. We promised, no secrets.

“I’m pregnant.” I blurted out. He stopped rubbing my arm and pulled away from me, sitting up abruptly. I knew it. My worst thoughts are becoming reality.

“How do you know?” He asked, scrunching is eyebrows together. Tears threatened to pour down my cheeks.

“When you left on the phone, the nurse came in. She told me everything was fine and congratulated me on being pregnant. She said I was three weeks along.” He sat there staring at me for the longest time. I couldn’t read his expressions because he didn’t show any. What was he thinking !? My body went cold and I could hear beating in my ears again. My heart was breaking.

“I understand if you don’t want” He cuts me off by kissing me. Harder than he ever has. He picks me up without breaking our kiss and sets me on his lap.
