The Arrival of the Past
The silence in the room was oppressive. I was still absorbing his words, trying to process what it meant to give myself completely to his control. Nathan seemed at ease, as if he knew exactly what he wanted, what he would make me do, and maybe even how far I could go. But there was still a strange feeling inside me, a mix of desire and resistance. The fear of losing my identity, of getting lost in this dangerous game, haunted me.
Then, the front door slammed open, breaking the tension in the air. The sound of firm footsteps echoed down the hall, followed by muffled voices. Nathan's face, which had been immersed in pleasure and control, changed abruptly. Something in his gaze shifted, and a wave of discomfort spread across his posture. Whatever it was, it was making him momentarily lose control of the situation.
I watched, curious and anxious. Who could be arriving now, in the middle of all this?
He took a deep breath, and before I could ask anything, he spoke calmly:
"Don't move," he said, his voice firm but with a touch of something I couldn't identify. "I need you to stay here. It's not the time."
I didn't say anything. The fear of asking and learning something I wasn't ready to know silenced me. The sound of voices grew closer, and a figure appeared in the doorway.
It was a man. He entered with undeniable confidence, his steps firm and his presence unmistakable. He had something familiar about him, but at the same time, distant. His dark, piercing eyes met mine for a brief moment, and something in his gaze made me feel a strange sensation of discomfort and recognition.
Nathan seemed tense, his jaw clenched. The man looked at him, a smug smile forming on his lips.
"I didn't know you were so busy, Nathan," the man said, his voice soft but laced with sarcasm. "I thought you'd be more... in control."
Nathan didn't respond immediately, and for a second, there was a silent exchange between them, a non-verbal communication that I didn't understand, but it made me uneasy.
"You've always been good at making others feel small, haven't you?" the man continued, moving closer to us. "But this... this is new, isn't it?"
I stayed silent, watching. The tension in the room was escalating, and for the first time, I could see that Nathan didn't have absolute control. He was being challenged, and that made him even more dangerous.
The man looked at me, a smile disguised as curiosity. He studied me, as if trying to figure out who I was, what it meant for me to be here with Nathan.
"So, this is the new..." The man paused, as if choosing his words carefully. "Sophia, right?"
I didn't know how to respond. There was something threatening in the way he said my name, and I felt a shiver run down my spine. Who was this man? Nathan's past seemed to have returned unexpectedly, and I wasn't ready to deal with it. Nathan stood up abruptly, his body stiff and filled with tension. He looked at the man with an intensity I had never seen before. Something in the way the two were staring at each other made me realize there was much more between them than I could imagine.
"You know why you're here, Marcus," Nathan said, with a coldness that made me hold my breath. "And you're not going to change anything."
Marcus, the man I had just met, smiled more widely now, as if it were a game to him. He seemed completely at ease, as if he were in conquered territory.
"Ah, but I'm not here to change anything, Nathan," Marcus replied with a soft yet threatening tone. "I'm just here to observe. See how far you'll go with... her." He subtly pointed in my direction, his expression one I couldn't decipher. "You have an interesting way of involving yourself with people, my friend."
The tension between the two was palpable, and I could feel the electric energy in the air. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew it was something important, something that would change the dynamic between Nathan and me. Whatever it was, Marcus seemed to be someone from Nathan's past, someone with power over him.
"You'll leave now," Nathan said, the authority in his voice making it clear that he wanted Marcus gone.
Marcus chuckled softly, a sound that seemed to make the room even more tense. "Sure, sure. But don't forget, my old friend, I'll be around. And you know what that means..."NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
With one last look in my direction, Marcus turned and left, leaving behind a sense of mystery and discomfort.
When the door closed, the silence returned to the room, but now there was something new in the air. I looked at Nathan, who was standing still, as if absorbing the impact of the visit. His eyes were closed for a moment, and he seemed to be struggling with something.
"Who was he?" I asked, my voice low.
Nathan looked at me, his expression unreadable. "Someone from my past... and someone I'd prefer stayed there."
I didn't say anything else, but I knew that this visit wasn't just a coincidence. Something had changed, and I didn't know if I was ready for the next steps in this story that was still unfolding before me.
