The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 89
(Ian)
Ever since that dream…I have been on edge from the moment I woke up. Hearing that woman still so clearly in my mind..telling me to follow and protect our Luna..that she needed me. There was something else pulling me to follow her. I didn’t know what it was until this very moment.
I tried to get close enough to see our Luna to make sure she was okay. I rolled myself in the dirt, masking my scent as I stalked forward, leaving John and Dan behind. We knew the risk we were taking…what Rowan would do to us but we had to protect our Luna. We had to stop this man once and for all.
I watched as Rowan twirled our Luna’s hair, but I knew it wasn’t him. We were aware that Marcus might have changed his appearance but to her own f*****g mate?! This man was sick.. seeing him touch her hair was almost enough to make me pounce but I had to wait. That’s when I saw her, the girl with chin-length chestnut hair and light green eyes. The most beautiful f*****g girl I had ever seen in my life. Her heart-shaped face was covered in dirt and fear filled those beautiful eyes.
‘Mate.’
Puck growled and that’s when he took over, the need to protect her outweighed everything else as Puck lunged forward, ready to rip those rogues to shreds.
I screwed up the plan…I knew I did and now we were surrounded by at least thirty rogues.
‘Ian, you need to get the girls as far away from here as possible. Do you understand me?’
Mila linked, regret filling me as I knew I f****d up.
‘I’m not leaving you here with that monster.’
I snarled, realizing she was now on a suicide mission..no way in hell would I leave our Luna with him.
‘Ian! You need to save your mate…I will be okay, Marcus won’t hurt me.’
She snapped, making me whimper at the realization of what I just did…I practically just handed Mila over to this monster…I thought I was doing the right thing…I thought I was able to protect her.
‘What should we do?’
John linked me, worry in his voice as Puck growled angrily.
‘We need to save the girls, that’s what the Luna has instructed.’
I said solemnly.noveldrama
‘We can’t just leave her!’
Dan yelled..what the hell were we going to do…
I felt like my hands were tied..there was no way we could take on this many rogues and get away unscathed. My eyes were drawn to my mates once more. Just looking at her she seemed so much more different than Chloe already. The gentleness and overall appearance. If the moon goddess had blessed me with a second chance mate, then she must be someone worth protecting.
I began to panic, looking towards our Luna as I had to make the decision…do we stand and fight or do we take the girls to safety?
‘Ian! Now!’
Our Luna linked, looking towards me with pleading eyes as Marcus held her firmly.
“You know what you have to do Mila..what I need from you to let those girls go.” He said, his hands gripping our Luna’s waist as she closed her eyes tightly.
“Let them go..and you can have me.” She whispered, causing my heart to drop as I wished there was some other way.
“That’s my girl, I always knew you would come around..I’m not the bad guy here, I’m not the one who took you from our home Mila.” Marcus grinned, making me grit my teeth as the thought of her making a deal with him unsettled me to my core. How delusional could this man be?
‘Luna, there has to be another way.’
I felt completely defeated.
‘Ian..please..get the girls to safety..this is the only way…this is what I have to do..after today I will never let Marcus destroy another life again..no matter what.’
She spoke firmly, her words a command as Puck rushed forward, standing in front of the girls, and growled protectively.
“Let them go.” Mila spoke softly, her gaze piercing into Marcus as he nodded his head.
Just then the rogues surrounding the six girls backed away, letting me, John’s wolf Scotty and Dan’s wolf Jax, step forward and get to the girls.
Before I knew what was happening a wicked laugh echoed through the woods.
“Ian go now!! Please!!” Mila shouted, hesitation filling my every move as I quickly bit through the rope, letting the girls free.
A puff of grey smoke appeared, filling the forest, and circled the girls, trying to protect them from this invisible threat. Puck stood in front of our mate, her hands wrapping around our kneck as she buried her face in our fur, coughing and choking on the smoke. We had to move, we had to get out of here.
‘Mila, where are you?!’
I yelled into the link…silence, the deafening sound of silence filled my mind. Then the smoke settled and they were gone..our Luna..my friend..what the hell did I just do…
