The Luna's Hidden Destiny

I looked into my mate’s loving blue eyes as he turned my palm delicately. I felt like everything was happening in slow motion from the moment I walked onto the stage. I knew my dad and brother were standing somewhere nearby, I could feel them but I couldn’t see them for some reason, Rowan was all I could see.

He wore a dark blue suit with a white dress shirt, it was unbuttoned at the top and his silver hair was slicked back. He was absolutely breathtaking…I don’t know how I got the courage to walk out here..but something was pulling me towards him, something strong that I couldn’t resist.

“Mila, if you would please respond to the phrases I will ask, then we will slice your palm and you can join hands with your mate.” Vincent smiled at me, causing me to nod my head gently and look down at the dagger pressed against my flesh.

I was nervous I would forget everything Laura told me but it flowed so easily like I had been practicing it since the moment I could speak.

“Do you, Amelia Hayes, accept responsibility for the protection and care of this pack?” Vincent asked, using my birth-given name so the binding will be legitimate.

“Yes, I do.” I spoke clearly, confident in my answer as Rowan continued to stare at me steadily.

“Are you committed to accepting your role as Luna to your Alpha, helping to guide him and loving him through the good and bad times? That you shall become stronger together and put the packs’ safety before anything else?”

“I will.” I breathed, feeling Rowan inch closer as he bent down and kissed my lips hastily, causing me to chuckle against him.

“Then please place your palm out flat, both of you.” Vincent smiled widely as the sound of Laura sobbing behind Rowan reached us. She couldn’t hold it together any longer.

I straightened my palm out as Rowan held his own next to mine. Touching my hand gently as sparks prickled my skin where our flesh connected.

‘My Luna, my beautiful mate.’

Bain purred into our link..actually purred.

Calypso wagged her tail, happiness overflowing as the golden dagger pressed against our skin.

Vincent slid it across our palms swiftly, making b***d spill into my palm as I tried my hardest not to flinch. Worry filled Rowan’s eyes as he quickly gripped my palm with his own, mixing our b***d together and holding it above the golden chalice. It was decorated with trees and a large moon where a wolf was howling atop a large rock. I had never seen anything so beautiful and meaningful.

Small droplets began spilling inside, causing a gust of wind to pick up and surround us. The feeling of one bond breaking and another forming filled my chest. The overwhelming sensation of finally being where I was always meant to be took over every sense in my body.

My hair whipped around as Rowan’s eyes widened, his touch even stronger as I felt like we were one. As if our souls were finally connected to a point where they would never be apart.

“Please help me welcome our Luna of Black Stone..Mila!” Vincent cheered, his hand wiping away a tear as he gripped our hands that were still held together. Looking down in the chalice it looked as if our b***d were swirling with gold.

Suddenly my mind began to fill with the voices of my pack members, drawing my attention away from the chalice.

‘Welcome Luna.’

‘Hello Luna.’

‘We are so happy for you Luna.’

‘We have been waiting so long for you Luna.’

I was so overcome with emotion I couldn’t help but cry with happiness. Rowan pulled me into him, kissing me all over my face as he hugged me tightly.

“My Luna, my beautiful Luna.” He whispered against my skin and pretty soon we were surrounded by all of those that have been nothing but kind to me. All of those people who are now my family..those people I will cherish for the rest of my life because now…I was finally home…I had been lost for so long..thank you goddess..thank you for letting Rowan find me. Thank you for giving me this chance to truly live.
