The Luna’s Hidden Destiny – Chapter 80
(Mila)
I stood in front of the mirror, my reflection exactly what I pictured my wedding day would look like. Laura informed me that the Luna traditionally wears white and that I wasn’t allowed to see Rowan until I walked out onto the stage. He was very against that tradition, not wanting to be away from me for even a second. His mom somehow convinced him and promised to keep Ian in the room with us no matter what. I’m pretty sure Rowan has been checking in with him every ten minutes and asking for a detailed briefing of what we were doing.
I looked at Ian sympathetically and wished this was all different. I wished Rowan didn’t have to worry and that the ceremony didn’t have to be rushed..but I understood why. It was the only way to keep not only me safe, but Rowan too..that was the real reason why I agreed..I needed access to the guards. I needed to know if he was okay whenever he was away and I needed to be able to call for help if anything happened.
Laura and Rose walked up next to me, smiling brightly as they simultaneously wiped a tear away from their eyes.
“Oh Mila..you look stunning.” Laura breathed, her hand reaching out and gripping my own. I glanced back at my reflection once more.
What I saw was so unrecognizable it was hard to believe it was even me. I wore a clean mermaid-fit white dress with long sleeves that had pearls stitched into the seam line, a boat neckline, and a beautiful flowing skirt with a long train. The back was gracefully adorned and open with a floral lace pattern. My hair was swept up with a pearl hair comb and my makeup simple and elegant.
Luckily my dress was long enough to hide my white flats…I wasn’t quite comfortable enough to wear heels yet. Especially not with the nerves I had. I chewed my l*p nervously, inhaling a deep breath as I let it out slowly.
‘You look magnificent darling..remember, we were destined for this.’
Calypso purred, giving me that boost of confidence I so badly needed. She was the reason I could get through this..she was the reason we were so strong.
“I am so proud of you Mila…You are exactly what Black Stone needs..you are strong, and kind and have overcome so much already. You will make such an amazing Luna.” Laura praised me, causing me to blink back the tears that threatened to spill any moment.
“I couldn’t have done any of this without you and all of your support. Thank you, Laura, for accepting me and being the mother I always dreamed of having.” I whispered, a single tear trickling down my cheek as she wiped it away swiftly.
“Oh no, don’t start that…then I won’t be able to stop.” She laughed, trying to lighten the mood as I couldn’t help but smile and laugh with her.
I couldn’t believe it, I was about to be Luna of Black Stone and Rowan my Alpha. How did we become so blessed…to think, a month ago I was back in that cabin, living a life that wasn’t even real.
Suddenly I heard Ian step forward, his eyes clouding over as he went to reach for my arm and held it gently.
“Luna, I was just informed that Alpha Rowan would like to see you in the room down the hall.” He said swiftly, making me blink in confusion as I looked at Laura who shrugged. She was just as confused as I was.
“Is everything alright?” I asked, wondering what could possibly be going on.
‘Rowan, is everything okay?’
I linked quickly, wanting to know what was going on myself.
‘Yes baby, there is a quick issue we must handle before the ceremony. I would like you to decide on this matter as future Luna to this pack.’
He sounded pissed like something was definitely going on.
‘Okay, we will be right there.’
I respond, unsure of what this matter could even be about.
Glancing at Ian, I could tell he looked anxious, like something was making him uncomfortable.novelbin
I reached out, touching his arm gently as Laura began wrapping some type of white cape over my body, concealing my dress.
Dang, she was prepared for everything.
Suddenly I felt something when I touched Ian, like a deep anguish that made him upset buried way down inside. I gazed into his eyes and could see he was clearly hurting.
“Ian, what is it.” I whispered, trying not to make a big deal about it.
“You will find out soon enough, the Alpha asked me not to mention anything.” He spoke cooly as he swiftly turned and began walking towards the door.
What the hell was going on? I guess I would find out soon enough…
