The Luna's Hidden Destiny

As soon as my warrior Caleb linked me, my b***d began to boil. Someone had set the omega housing on fire..not only that, there was a clear message left in the woods nearby..something that I needed to make sure Mila stays far away from. We all shifted as soon as we left the house. Finn and Elder Nicolas ended up joining us as we bounded toward the woods where this so-called message was left.

After we entered the clearing the air was thick with dark magic..the hair on the back of Bain’s neck stood up as I glanced towards Eris and Hadeon.

‘What the f**k is this.’

Blake linked, Eris’s eyes wide as we walked closer.

There were two rogues hanging up on the trees before us..it looked like some type of ritual had happened here. Sadly, we knew these rogues..they kept to themselves mostly and had helped us in the past. They would keep an eye out in the woods if anything sketchy was going on and would report it back to us. We offered them the opportunity to join our pack a few times but they always refused so we would give them supplies and clothing in exchange for their loyalty.

A chill ran through me as Alpha Nathan’s wolf, Dante, stalked forward with Elder Nicolas’s wolf, Napoleon. They sniffed the air around them and quickly transformed.

“This is very dark magic, we need to get a light witch here first before anyone touches anything.” Elder Nicolas said quickly.

I transformed myself, looking at the two male rogues hanging up on the trees. There was a clear message carved into their chests.

One body read.

“you’re next”

And the other.

“Alpha”

I knew exactly who did this…I think we all knew.

Alpha Nathan growled, his anger coursing through him as Harry walked up beside him, trying to calm him down.

“I will kill him myself this time…I won’t let what he did happen again.” Alpha Nathan hissed between clenched teeth.

Walking forward I examined the two men, their eyes and fingers were missing..it also looked like there was something pinned to one of their backs.

I reached up, grabbing the edge of a piece of paper as Elder Nicolas tried to stop me.

“Alpha Rowan, we shouldn’t touch anything.” He said worriedly but I pulled the paper out, it was folded up and looked to be burnt on the edges.

Looking down at it, my heart stopped…

“See you soon my sweet girl, and this time we will make it last forever…till death do us part..sweet dreams Mila.”

I snapped, my hand fisted the paper as Bain transformed…I would find that prick right now and end this. How dare he threaten my mate…my mila..how dare he!

Bain howled out a b***d-curdling sound as everyone around tried to calm me down. I didn’t give a shit, I was off, trying to find his scent as I ran deeper into the woods. His scent was all over the place as I tried to get the most recent one. How the hell did he get past our guards..how the hell was he here!

‘Rowan, there’s no point…he is gone. The warriors already lost his scent.’

Tristan linked me, worry filling his voice. I had never heard him like this before, usually he doesn’t show his emotions openly so I knew this was serious.

‘There’s something else Rowan, you need to come back. The light witch is here.’

He added, making Bain growl as we reluctantly turned back. He was long gone by now, I knew that..that’s the type of man he was..a f*****g coward.

I spotted the light witch Cora right away. She actually lived on the outskirts of the pack and was mated to one of the warriors. It was odd at first but she has been extremely useful to us and has been accepted by most. She even provides some healing treatments at the hospital now and then, for the really severe cases. She was the one that surveyed Mila’s cabin before.

I quickly transformed and was handed a pair of sweats by one of our warriors that arrived on foot.

“Alpha Rowan.” Cora spoke softly, bowing her head as she looked toward the two rogues.

Cora had long black hair and chocolate-colored skin. Her eyes though..those were a bright blue that seemed to glow, it was almost unsettling.

“What the hell does this mean?” I snapped, not able to find an ounce of patience.

“I believe the witch who did this, had the intentions of creating something big. There are a few things that it could be..a hidden spell like what they did with the cabin, a strengthening potion, or even a transformation spell.” Cora spoke clearly, her eyes glancing toward the rogues once more.

“Transformation spell? What does that mean?” Alpha Nathan spoke roughly, his wolf trying to take over.

“Well, the eyes and fingers..they are missing. The witch…I believe she used them to make a potion that will change one’s appearance.” Cora added, her warrior mate Jasper now joining her and standing next to her protectively.

“F**k..wait.. you’re telling me he could have changed his appearance? That he could look like someone else now?” Blake said with wide eyes, causing everyone to grow silent..he could be anyone.. literally anyone.

“It is a high probability, also these marking on their arms, it is part of the ritual, a forbidden spell was cast here. The transformation spell is what my gut is telling me.” She said while pointing to some type of symbols painted on the rogue’s arms.

“I need to make sure Mila is okay.” I uttered, my mind going crazy as the safety of my mate is all that matters now. I quickly shifted, racing towards the house as that fear began to take over. If anything happens to her..if she gets hurt..oh goddess I won’t be able to take it.

‘Baby, are you okay? Please answer me..’

I linked, desperation filling me as I waited for her to respond..every second of silence becoming pure agony.

‘Yes, are you okay? Oh, Rowan, I was so worried about you.’

I could hear the distress in her voice, the sound of her filling my mind and instanly bringing me relief..she was okay..she was safe.

‘Ian, make sure no one goes into that room but me.’

I quickly linked to Ian, seeing the house lights come into view as I raced home.

‘Yes, Alpha.’

He linked back quickly, this would be much easier if Mila was part of the pack and my Luna already..then she would be able to communicate with the warriors and be able to alert them if she was in danger.

F**k! How did he get past our guards? Those woods were protected..dammit..he was too close…if Cora was right, and he changed his appearance..we don’t have a clue who we are looking for.

‘He will never get our mate ‘

Bain growled, his anger coursing through me as I tried not to go back and search every inch of this damn state.

I ran to the back door, quickly shifting back as I raced into the house, grabbing a pair of sweats we kept in a hamper for community use.

‘Alpha, the light witch found a teleportation portal in the woods. She says there is a way to put a shield around our borders to prevent this from happening in the future.’

Tristan quickly linked me.

‘Tell her to get it done. We should have done that a long time ago. I suggest our allies do the same, we need an emergency meeting first thing in the morning.’

I quickly linked back, not waiting for a response as I took the stairs. Not having the patience for the elevator as I made my way to our floor. As soon as I reached our door I typed in the code and yanked it open, running into the lobby going into our apartment.

John and Dan quickly straightened their backs, alert and ready for any threat as I came barreling in.

I shoved the doors open, running into our room as Mila gasped, her eyes wide as she raced towards me and jumped into my arms.

“Rowan..” she cried, tears falling from her eyes as she clung onto me, wrapping her legs around my waist and burying her head in the crook of my neck.

“It’s okay, I’m right here..everything is going to be okay.” I gasped into her. My hands wrapped around her small frame as she sobbed into me.

“Was it Marcus?..did you..did you see him?” She said between shuddering breaths.

“He won’t be coming here again..there is no way we will let him.” I growled, my mate practically trembling in fear, causing my anger to rise as this man continues to terrorize her.

‘I won’t bother you after this, we just need to know if she is okay.’

My brother linked me quickly.

‘Yes, I am with her now.’

I quickly replied, not wanting to be interrupted by anyone else..just wanting to be here with my mate.

“Mila…I need to talk to you about something.” I said, pulling back as I looked into her tear-filled eyes. The sight broke my heart as I reached forward, wiping her tears away.

“Wh..what is it?” She asked..she was so shaken up…I had never seen her like this. She always puts on a brave face, and never shows her sadness..this terrified me. Something scared her, something bad to make her this emotional.

“I think we should move your Luna ceremony to tomorrow.” I proclaimed, brushing her hair behind her ear. She wore my black T-shirt and some sleep shorts now. Her makeup was smudged under her eyes and she looked pale. Even with all of that, she was still f*****g gorgeous as hell.

“Tomorrow?” She said breathlessly. Her big eyes searched mine as I nodded.

“All the important people will be there, and we will tell our pack members tonight so they can at least prepare for tomorrow.” I said quickly, feeling like this was the right thing to do. I needed her to be a part of this pack. It was the only way to protect her fully.

“Okay, if it’s not too much of an inconvenience.” She nodded, understanding my concern.

Did someone tell her the severity of the situation? Why was she so afraid?

“Mila..did someone tell you something?” I asked softly, not wanting to sound angry, even though it was bubbling up by the second.

“Tell me something? About what?” She looked at me confused and I just shook my head, pressing her tighter against me. I know my Mila wasn’t lying..because she never lied to me..not once.

“Rowan..what happened?” Her voice was small as it wavered slightly.

I couldn’t tell her about what happened..about the note or the rogues…I wouldn’t tell her..no way in hell.

“Someone set a few omega homes on fire. We think it was someone sent by Marcus.” I said firmly, that would be all I would tell her. That was all I was willing to give.

“Oh goddess..is everyone okay? Do they need a place to stay tonight? Was anyone injured?” She asked as her brow furrowed together. F**k was she so thoughtful and kind…

“Everyone is fine, they stopped the fires fast enough so no one was hurt. As for the damage, we will rehouse them temporarily and take care of the cost of rebuilding.” I said, making her let out a deep breath she had been holding.

“Maybe we should make them some meals, or buy them some groceries and necessities they might need.” She added, her eyes getting lost in thought as I couldn’t help but smile.

“What a great idea baby, our pack will have such a great Luna..my Luna.” I whispered, my hand finding her cheek as she still clung to me. I kissed her sweetly, my tongue slipping out and caressing her bottom l*p gently.

“You will finally be my Luna.” I breathed against her lips. Pressing into her further as I kissed her more deeply. The need to feel her and taste her consuming me.

“Maybe we should tell your mom before we get too distracted.” She mumbled against me, causing me to laugh as I let out a sigh.

“I guess you are right..that might be a big surprise to wake up to. I will send out the message to my pack too.” I added, knowing the sooner we announce this the smoother it will go.

I walked to the bed, sitting down with Mila now straddling my lap as I let out a sigh.

“Wish me luck..my mom will be the hardest part of this.” I said with a frown and Mila pressed a k**s to my cheek, smiling and nodding her head encouragingly.

Well, here goes nothing..she might be okay with it, or she might flip out..I know they have been planning the Luna Ceremony pretty extensively. It needs to happen tomorrow though..it’s the only way to keep Mila fully protected.

‘Mom, do you have a minute to talk?’

I linked, why was I actually feeling nervous? I looked at Mila and then realized it was her emotions I was feeling. She was the nervous one. I began to rub her back gently, comforting her as I waited for my mom to respond, which didn’t take long.

‘Oh goddess Rowan, is everything okay? Elder Nicolas just told us what happened. How is Mila?’

She linked with clear panic in her voice.

Well, at least she knew the gist of everything, it might make it easier.novelbin

‘I am with Mila now, but mom..I think we should do the Luna and Pack joining ceremony tomorrow. I know it is last minute but we have to think of Mila’s safety.’

I said quickly, bracing myself for the possible destruction this might cause.

Mila searched my eyes as I continued to stroke her back gently.

‘Okay, I think that is a smart choice son. Will you inform the pack members tonight?’

I blinked rapidly, almost in shock from her relaxed response..she is on board with this? Wow..she must be as worried as I am.

‘I will announce it after this. Thank you, mom, for understanding. This way we can protect her fully..she is the most important thing in the world to me…if something happened..’

I stopped myself from speaking, feeling those emotions rising as Mila peppered my face with k****s, obviously able to read me like a book.

‘Oh son..me and your father..we know this is the right choice. We trust you son, and we love Mila like our own daughter. Whatever way she becomes Luna or joins the pack is good enough for us, as long as she is safe.’

My mom said with a wavering voice, I could hear the sadness and anguish as she spoke and it almost brought me to tears…I was damn lucky, that’s for sure. My parents are something I will cherish until the day I die.

‘Thank you..’

That was all I could say…I had no other words.

“Okay, she is on board.” I whispered to Mila and she nodded, her eyes widening as she leaned forward, kissing me tenderly.

“I love you.” She said gently, her words warming me from the inside out.

“I love you too, more than anything in this world baby.” I gripped the sides of her head, my fingers tangling in her thick locks as I pressed my forehead to hers.

“After tomorrow, our bond will be even stronger..” If that were even possible…I stared at her, watching as her emerald eyes practically glow. She was breathtaking..everything about her was f*****g incredible. I hate how we have to rush this…but I am ready…I am so ready to finally have Mila become my Luna.

Since I am the Alpha, I have the ability to use my powers to link my whole pack at once. It takes a lot of energy and leaves me with a headache but I only use the ability for important circumstances.

I closed my eyes, connecting my link to the whole pack, ready to make the announcement as Mila’s warm breath fanned against my lips.

‘All Pack members of Black Stone, we have decided to move the date for the Luna ceremony for my mate Mila Rosewood to tomorrow. I realize how last minute this ceremony will be but we will have all the required preparations needed. Our pack will officially welcome our Luna and we will finally be complete. I expect to see you all there and your Luna is excited to fill her destined role.”

I quickly closed the link, my head already pounding as Mila’s hands slid on either side of my face. Her lips glided against my skin and kissed me delicately as my headache began to slowly subside. How did she do that? How could her touch alone bring me so much comfort?

“Are you okay baby?” She asked, her lips floating down my jawline as she held my head gently in place.

All I could do was nod, exhaustion filling me as she continued to k**s me gently.

“Let me wash you. Let me take care of you.” She breathed against my skin and climbed off of me, taking my hand and leading me to the bathroom.
