The Last Ceo’s Deal

Chapter 64: A slip

Third Pov.

Fanuel had already left for work when Christine reached for her phone on the lampstand with her eyes still closed.

A habit she had formed lately and she successfully fetched it forcing her eyes open to look at the time.

How could she have slept that long?

She didn’t need a soothsayer to tell her that Fanuel already left.

That jerk!

How dare he threaten her brother!! The only person she has in this world to look up to, she would go extra miles to make sure Easton is safe and if he dares plot anything to hurt him, she will hurt him in double folds.

Yawning, she lazily drags herself from the bed and enters the fancy pink bathroom to brush her teeth.

She hissed at how Fanuel thinks she fancy pink to decorate everywhere with such Barbie colors.

Her brush, sponge, hair towel and body towel to everything in this beautiful restroom screams pink!!

After brushing she packed her hair into a messy bun and fetched the shower cap. She was tired of washing and drying the hair, in fact she’s just too lazy to do anything.

The water splashes all over her body as she savors the hot water cascading all over her body. She closed her eyes and a little light of hope sparkled in her mind.

Easton was tracking Webb and he was making a little progress. He had told her when he came over, showing her Webb’s previous IP address he had on his phone and laptop.

Easton has always had access to his dad’s laptop and phone but how he memorized those vital codes shocked her.

“I was able to hack into his laptop when he changed his password” He had told her and she gasped.

“Why?”

“Because that guy stopped sending me cash! I was out of cash Christine but he was lavishing life as the manager of Hudson’s technologies, I got pissed and did the needful and damn!! I was surprised at what I saw.”

“Easton, if you can hack his laptop, why not do the same to his account? Who knows, we could retrieve the millions he stole from Fanuel and….”

“I can’t, he changed everything and I don’t have access to anything at all. Even the IP address is as good as useless, if not for the fingerprint he used on the laptop, everything would have gone down the drain tracking him. He destroyed the Sim card used.”

“That’s bad Easton.” My voice cracked with disappointment.

“There’s just a slight hope. I was able to use that thumbprint to track him the day he left and it led me to the international airport.”

“That was where he took off right? Did it show you where he went to?”

“No Christine, I don’t know yet, I need to go to the airport and ask the air officials to take a look at the passengers history and some IT procedures but it would be almost impossible cause I need a warrant for that.”

It was impeccable!!

How he was able to do all of that stunned her but without money and power, Easton will never be able to carry out that successfully.

She came out of the shower and stepped out naked while she used the towel to mop her body.

“Christine!!”

“Jesus Christ!” She screamed and bent at once and covered herself but it was futile.

“Get up bitch, it’s me.”

That voice could only belong to one person, so she slowly tilted her to see Laurel standing with her hands on the sides of her waist.

Christine sags in relief as she ties the towel to cover her naked self.

“Laurel, you scared the shit out of me!”

“I can see you don’t even miss me! Jeez.. I’m going to get married tomorrow.”

“Stop being an ass, I called you twenty times and prayed for you daily.”

“Yeah, how ironic.”

“Come here.” She went over to hug Laurel who smiled widely at her.

“You shouldn’t be acting so shocked even if Fanuel enters here to see like that, he’s your husband you know.”

“Can you stop rubbing that shitty word on my face? He’s fake..”

“You’re bound by…”

“How come you’re here, I thought I won’t see you soon ”

She asked, squirting some lotion in her hands to rub it on her flawless skin.

“Your husband called Jay to send me over, he thinks you will cling to another random person once he’s gone. You know today is the company’s project inauguration.”

Christine sighed and rolled her eyes, Fanuel had to do all of that to prevent her from leaving the house. How pathetic!!

“What’s it with the inaugural shit, isn’t it just to sign up and get the work done?”

“No baby, other officials will be there.

Especially those who invested and signed with the company. I heard Mirabel’s dad is going to be there too.”

She whipped her eyes at one to her.

“The President?”

“Yep, Fanuel’s now the big fish of New Jersey.”

She rolled her eyes and opened her wardrobe making Laurel gasped.

“Are you going to open a boutique store?”

“Ask Fanuel when he comes back.”

She fetched a brown tank top and leather shorts to wear while she slipped her into her pants.

“You should eat something, I’ll get it for you.”

“No, we are going to get it together.”

*****

“So you like him right?” Christine Ask Laurel who couldn’t stop ranting about Jayden.

“I’m crazy about him , Christine but I’m scared, I feel like it’s too good to be true that I’m finally getting closer to my crush. I .. I feel I don’t worth it.”

“Why? Cause he’s a rich nigga and you’re just a maid?”

Laurel nodded while Christine sighed.

“Then wait for a rich chick to grab your man away from you!”

“That’s harsh Christine!”Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

“If you’re lucky enough to see a guy that loves you irrespective of your status, you should grab it tight and show him that you have more than money.

Show him your worth and prove to him that you’re not like other bitches.”

“Now! That’s warm. So how about Fanuel?”

“I get angry when his name pops up.”

“You’re stuck with him, remember?”

“I know.” Her voice cracks and tears welled, making Laurel surprised.

“It’s okay if you don’t wanna talk about it just..”

“I’m tired…he’s sweet this second and harsh the next minute. He doesn’t give a damn about my existence Laurel!! I just want to go home and cuddle with my mum or brother and wake up from this sanity.

I want to shake off the thought that my Dad this to me and raped me to shreds…I…Shit!!”

Christine cursed after discovering that she spilled an abominable truth.

“Christ!! Christine, your dad did what?”

“It’s nothing, that was a slip.”

“That’s not a…”

Laurel’s phone blasted loudly and distracted them both. She hesitated before picking up the call.

“Yes, she’s here…why?… Fine, I will ask her.”

She cut the call and stared at Christine intently.

“Is that Jay?”

“Yes, he wants me to turn on the news and ask you if you know anything about it.”

Instant Panic and fear prickled Christine’s skin and she stood up immediately and reached for the remote.

She pressed the button and left the entertainment channel to the news channel.

Her blood froze.
