Chapter 37: That minster’s wrath
Diana’s POV.
She was so beautiful that my heart ached.
The make-up artist did his job without stress, as if Christine was already perfect on her own without needing too much artificial foundation or concealer or her milky brown face.
She would soon go to see Fanuel and that twisted my heart in pain the more. I couldn’t bear that, I couldn’t watch the scene of her standing on the altar with the man I’ve always loved to be enjoined as husband and wife.
I want that title to be plundered with immediate effect, I want to have a magical power that would transfer all the artist efforts straight to my face to look just as beautiful as she is.
How the heck will she get married to such beauty!! Even if it’s for a day, she’s still lucky!!
Fake marriage or not, she gets to see such greek god all the time.
She gets to serve him, cook for him, talk to him, touch him…. no damn it!!
I should stop thinking about that, I’m already balling my hands into a fist and I might swerve a punch at her innocent face.
Her face remains impassive, so void and without expressing any emotion.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
She just sat there motionless in her silent beauty and stared into nothing, checking the time now and then and glancing around.
“It’s time.” Laurel said and she snapped her head to her direction.
“Time to?”
“Wear your cloth of course, don’t tell me you plan to sit there all day, staring into nothing.”
“I wish I could.” She sighed and stood up while I followed suit to the inner room.
“Stop it and be cheerful, it’s your wedding day! Bring the best out of it and make yourself happy, forget who you’re getting married to and focus on yourself, it’s just once in a lifetime dear.”
Christine forces a smile as she kept dragging herself to the room.
Laurel opened the door and what followed was a horrific gasp. We all stepped inside and I gasped.
Seems someone already got enemies, I thought I’m the only one trying to ruin this.
Her white beautiful town was torn into shreds, laying scatterly on the floor.
The mannequin in the transparent silver glass closet, stood there naked.
Someone had access to the lock and brought out the gown, if we were to really imagine the process of tearing this gown;it was done in anger.
No trace of any footsteps or any good remnants of the cloth, every damn textile was shredded to pieces.
Christine sprawled on the floor while we just stood there as dead logs frozen to the ground. She kept mumbling some incoherent words holding the bed frame in fear.
Laurel looked at me in a very suspicious manner and I glared at her sending her a warning that I know nothing about this damage.
I was there with them through out and never left their sight. I never even thought of doing this but I must confess that this person did a great job.
It just made my work much easier, it would be very hard to find a new gown immediately with her perfect size and desired colour.
“Diana?” Laurel called still giving me that suspicious look.
“Huh?”
“Let’s fix this, I don’t know who broke in here but whosoever that might have done this is clearly a psychopath who is angry at Christine.”
“Yeah.” I could only nod.
“Christine please stay put, we’ll try and figure something out.” Laurel said shakily just to reassure her cause she wasn’t even sure of what she was saying.
She dragged me out until we reach the passage way that leads to the living room.
“Spit it out!!” She yelled.
“Spit what?”
“Are you this daft and wicked?”
“I didn’t do that!” I almost yelled my lungs out on her.
“Wow! Prove me wrong, couldn’t you atleast wait till the wedding is over! Why will you do such wickedness? I’m telling Fanuel right away!!”
“I didn’t do that Laurel!! I was with you the entire time and I’m shocked as well! Why would I need to wait till now to do such childish and despicable thing when I was actually the one that specifically chose the gown for her.”
“How?”
“I had gone out with Fanuel to get her the gown when she was diagnosed with the chemical infusion that took over her body in the cause of her punishment.”
“How will I believe you? When all you want to do is get Christine out of the way!”
“I think you’re so dumb right now.”
“Ehh?”
“You claim to know everything and trying so hard to pin a mess on me when the real culprit might be Christine herself, I know I did something stupid before but is that enough reason for you to think that I actually did this.”
“What? Why would Christine do such a thing?”
“She never wanted to marry Fanuel you dumbass.”
“Don’t call me that!” She seethed.
“Instead of finding a solution to this impairable damage, you’re so keen plastering accusations on my face.”
“Diana…. I don’t know whatever it is you have hidden under your sleeve, I will find out, trust me. I still refuse to help that you aren’t the one, the glares and stares you gave to Christine in the room is enough reason for me to suspect you.
Keep playing the ball in the field until you gt a red card from me, I will surely expose you.”
She said with so much spite and went to the door which has been blaring its alarm since.
I need to get rid of her.
She’s beginning to get on my nerves and i don’t like that. I can’t believe she was staring at me the whole time in the room, what a sneaky sneakish brat.
I hissed and went back to the room to find Christine crying, she clutched Laurel phone to her chest and i snort.
What a silly girl.
“Can you stop it with the tears already?”
“Fanuel will kill me Diana.”
“How?”
“He might think that I’m probably the one delaying, he might think I have something to do with this…I’m so fucked up Diana, I don’t want to face that monster’s wrath.” She said fearfully and I shook my head.
“So you’re only reacting this way because you think Fanuel might come over and give you beatings of your life?” She nodded vigorously and I almost chuckle at the way she reacted.
“And punishment too.”
“Is he that bad?” I ask and she glared at me.
“You don’t want to get on a bad side with Fanuel Hudson, I don’t now what to do Diana, and i begged mum and Easton to come over. They might be worriedly sick about me right now.” She busrted out crying again.
“Get up and wipe your face darling, they would be worriedly sick at how beautiful you would look in this pink wedding gown.”
Laurel opened the door with the most unique gown I’ve ever set my eyes on, it there dangling on the hanger with diamonds enough to buy a country.
