Chapter 469
Dog-Head looked at Thorpe and his brothers, his mind was blown.
"The boss let you guys out?"
Sliding into the car and buckling up, Dog-Head embodied the epitome of a law-abiding citizen.
Thorpe couldn't help but cringe.
"What do you mean 'let us out'? He sent us to take out our current boss!"
"You're quite the scaredy-cat now, aren't you?"
Dog-Head hinted, "Watch out for the speed trap ahead, don't speed, okay? My son's waiting for me to pick him up from school."
Seeing Dog-Head acting all family-man-like made the trio collectively grind their teeth in irritation.
Alright, so you're the only one with a son, huh!
Well, none of them had one!
Thorpe cursed, "Damn it, I'd love to find a lady and have kids too, but looks like I won't get that chance in this lifetime."
Hollis patted Thorpe's head.
"No worries, I can be your dad! And when you have kids, I'll be the grandpa!"
Thorpe: "...Get lost!"
Dog-Head glanced at the three of them.
"It's simple, as long as you don't mind my son being a bit off, he can take care of you guys in your old age!"
Thorpe pretended to be disgusted, "Who wants your son? Who ends up taking care of whom is still up in the air."
But the smile on his face was blossoming!
Hehe, scoring a cute son for free!
The jeep drove towards the city center, and when a traffic cop stopped them, seeing the four burly men inside, he was taken aback. "Sorry, vehicles with out-of-town plates are restricted."
Thorpe and the brothers hadn't anticipated that their big move would be halted by a traffic restriction from outside Imperial City!
Half an hour later, a car with Imperial City plates picked up the four brothers.
They were taken directly to a quaint and elegant Western-style courtyard, with autumn leaves fluttering down, creating a picturesque setting. Facing the elderly man with white hair sitting in the courtyard, the four men sat up straight, as docile as quails.
In unison, they greeted, "Boss!"
The old man's wrinkled hand picked up a chess piece, pondering for a moment before placing it down with satisfaction.
"Where's the driver who picked you up?"
Thorpe pinched his thigh hard.
Tears welling up, he said, "He was shot on the way here!"
"Where?"
"Near Lockhart Prison, boss, those guys are too much! They don't respect you at all!"
Tavian put down the chess piece.
"Is that so? Well, it's not surprising, they've never respected me."
"Now that you're back, there's a task for you."
Tavian adjusted his clothing and stood up, his dignified presence undiminished by age as he walked inside.
Following Tavian, a loud thud suddenly echoed in the courtyard!
Thorpe on alert said, "An earthquake? Doesn't seem like it! I'll check it out!"
In the courtyard, right where Tavian was playing chess, lay a huge wooden crate!
The spot where the chessboard was placed had sunk into a hole.
"What's this?"
Dog-Head puzzled, "Boss, is this your delivery?"
Tavian took a deep breath.
"Who delivers things like this? Check it out!"
Approaching the crate, Thorpe carefully pried open the edge, and a three-meter-tall clown popped out, muttering under its breath.
"Daddy's daddy is grandpa, daddy's mommy is grandma..."
Thorpe wondered, "Did this come straight from a supermarket entrance?"
Tavian couldn't help but laugh.
"That girl Loadstar, she doesn't think this is a gift, does she?"
He saw the message Noella posted on the deep web!
It was nothing but a peculiar challenge to him!
Was this supposed to be a joke?
Hollis said seriously, "Boss, I think she's implying you're a clown..."
And he had a feeling, knowing Noella's temper, this was just the appetizer!
Looking closer at the crate, Hollis frowned, "Boss, what's this thing on the crate?"
Tavian stepped forward and saw that the crate housing the clown was made of various wooden planks, each marked with different logos!
Without exception, all were related to Tavian's legitimate and illegitimate businesses.
This was Noella's warning!
Tavian smirked.
"Having Polaris Star, knowing these things isn't hard, but using it to threaten me is rather foolish."
"If this is all she's got, I'm quite disappointed!"
Tandy, holding a phone, hesitated, "Boss, I know you're disappointed, but hold off on that. These planks have models, core machinery codes from our factories!"
"I just contacted the factories, and they said several of them have been bombed, specifically targeting the core machines! Our production is completely paralyzed!"
Tavian's expression froze momentarily.
"What? How dare she!"
"Let it be, they're just factories, not a big deal."
As Tavian gritted his teeth, Tandy added, "She also leaked your information."
"My information? How so?"
Even using the identity of 7-Slayer on the deep web didn't leave any room for leaks.
Tandy showed the phone screen,
【Soaring Bird and Cerulean Whale's mastermind revealed, Wise Fool.】
【Whoever takes him out can join Abyssal Organization and Obelisk Organization directly!)
Tavian: "..."
For deep web assassins, the offer to join Abyssal Organization and Obelisk Organization was hugely tempting.
Noella wasn't planning to spend a dime!
Not only was she not spending, but she was also pushing Tavian into the fire!
"This girl, really is full of thorns..."
Thorpe gestured across his neck, "Boss, should we take her out?"Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Just the few of you? You don't stand a chance! But, bring a few more, and maybe then you'll be enough..."
His eyes sparkled with a ferocious glint!
"If she can't be swayed, then it's time to deal with her."
He had no use for those who wouldn't fall in line!
He dialed a number stored in his phone.
Tavian chuckled warmly, "My dear, are you sure about this? Picking a fight with me, at your age, you should be dreaming big! There's a time and place for everything, and this choice of yours is foolish."
Noella's voice was calm, "And at your age, you should be thinking about settling your affairs for the great beyond. Haven't found a coffin you like yet? The box I sent over would fit you just fine!"
Insolent girl!
"Your grandfather and I were comrades in arms. He'd be displeased to hear you speak to me with such disrespect."
"Guess who it was that revealed your identity to me?"
Tavian was momentarily silenced!
Only a few knew of his identity, so that meant it was Marcel, that old fox, who had spilled the beans!
"Polaris Star made you who you are. This is biting the hand that feeds."
Noella sneered.
"Made me? My achievements need no one's endorsement. Least of all, yours!"
