The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 231

Several cars parked near the Grant residence quietly. Each of them had black-tinted windows, making it impossible to see what was inside. It gave off a mysterious and unsettling vibe.

...

After breakfast, Matthew took Lorraine and Tracy out of the village. On their way out, Lorraine seemed curious about Tracy.

"Are you Dad's girlfriend, miss?"

Tracy was amused by the question. "Why did you say that?"

Lorraine smiled and replied, "There's this kid in my class, and his dad used to bring a pretty lady home. That pretty lady eventually became his stepmom. Will you become my stepmom too?"

Tracy glanced at Matthew's back with a complicated mood. "Of course not. Matthew and I are just coworkers."

Lorraine patted her chest. "You scared me. If you became my stepmom, Ms. Carter will be upset."

Tracy looked at Lorraine in surprise. "Are you worried about Rachel? Do you like her?"

The two chatted along the way until they dropped Lorraine at her kindergarten Then, Matthew drove Tracy to Wealthwave Group and parked in the basement parking lot. They got out of the car and went up together. As soon as they were out of sight in the elevator, the door of a black sedan car swung open.

Rachel stepped out of the car. With a darkened expression, she fixed her gaze in the direction where Tracy and Matthew left.

Rachel had spent a long time together with Matthew, but he'd never picked her up for work in the morning. She couldn't believe he actually gave Tracy a ride to work today. That was crossing the line.

Rachel just slept with Matthew yesterday, and now he was already flirting with Tracy. The thought made her clench her teeth in frustration.

Being busy was only part of the reason Rachel hadn't been dating. The main reason was that she didn't trust men.

Martin and Rachel's siblings all had affairs, so she was super cautious about choosing a partner. She'd been keeping a close eye on Matthew ever since they started talking.

Who would've thought she'd run into another jerk? She was so let down by Matthew that she felt like her world was falling apart.

Matthew came to the office and found out that Rachel wasn't there yet. He headed down to the staff room on the lower level when his phone rang.

It was an unknown caller. He hesitated for a moment before picking up. "Hello, who's this?"

A man's cold voice came through the phone. "I have your parents, Matthew. Come and get them."

The man had his parents! Had they been kidnapped?

Upon realizing what was happening, Matthew was furious. "I don't care who you are or what you want, but don't harm my parents. As long as they're safe, I'll give you whatever you want." The man reiterated. "I have your parents. Come pick them up. Head down, and someone will pick you up. You have three minutes, or I'm leaving."

Three minutes? Matthew was in a panic. If the elevator was on the first floor, he wouldn't have enough time.

He quickly turned around and rushed to the elevator. Just as he got there, he saw an elevator coming up.

When the elevator doors opened, Matthew saw Rachel walking out. He dashed inside and frantically smashed the close button. Seeing Matthew step into the elevator without saying a word, Rachel clenched her teeth in anger. "We need to talk, Matthew."

However, the elevator doors simply shut in her face. Rachel blankly stared at the closed elevator doors.novelbin

She couldn't believe Matthew wouldn't even bother to talk. Were they really going to break things off this time?

Inside the elevator, Matthew kept his eyes on the close button. He was worried that someone might get on. If anybody did, it'd take at least 30 seconds. Then, it would take more than three minutes to reach the first floor. With his parents being held hostage, he couldn't bear to think about what might happen. Luckily, no one else used the elevator. As soon as the elevator hit the first floor and the door opened, Matthew rushed out and headed straight to the entrance.

As soon as Matthew came out of the front door, he saw a black sedan parked by the curb. The driver inside waved at him.

Matthew darted over, opened the passenger door, and got in. Before he could say a word, the driver hit the gas and took off.

...

Standing in front of the charred remains of a building, William stared at the ruins and muttered to himself, "I'm going to kill Matthew and his entire family today, Sheldon. I will avenge you." Beside him, Curtis asked, "Those idiots only brought Matthew's parents here. They forgot his daughter."

Did they forget about his daughter? William flew into a rage. "I'm going to kill Matthew's entire family, and I won't spare anyone. Bring me his daughter! They all need to meet the same fate as Sheldon."

With a troubled look, Curtis replied, "Matthew sent his daughter to

school this morning. If we take t

from the kindergarten, we might attract unwanted attention. Let's finish off Matthew and his parents today, and we'll get his daughter tomorrow."

Upon hearing that, William snapped, "Fine. She gets to live for one more night."

In the corner of the yard, Stanley and Lillian were tightly bound, lying unconsciously on the ground.

Martial artists gathered in the yard, each exuding a deadly presence. Armed with blades, they waited for Matthew to show up.

A black sedan soon pulled up at the entrance. Matthew jumped out of the car and ran into the yard.

When he saw two men holding blades to Stanely's and Lillian's throats, he came to a halt immediately. He was worried that any hasty actions might get them injured.

William looked at Matthew with murderous intent. "So, you're Matthew?"

Matthew furrowed his brows. He didn't know William, but he had a pretty good guess of who he was.

Realizing he was probably Sheldon's grandfather, Matthew decided to stall and keep his parents safe. "Why did you kidnap my parents? There are no grudges between us. What do you want?" William roared, "Do you really think you can get away with killing Sheldon just by denying it, Matthew? Keep dreaming. All three of you are going to die here today to join Sheldon in the grave." Since the day Matthew had to deal with the Smith family, he already found them overbearing. Apparently, it ran in the family. A surge of murderous intent raged inside him. "When I first met Jeffrey, he was impossible to reason with. He wanted to take my fiancée and kill me.

"Then, when I got to know Sheldon, he was much more absurd, demanding to marry my fiancée in Jeffrey's place. He was also after my life.

"And you actually kidnapped my parents! Are you all insane? Do you honestly believe everyone in the world is going to let your family have your way?"

William fixed his gaze on Matthew, his eyes glinted like a venomous snake. "What are you upset about? You belong to Lambda City, but we came from Khoitwood.

"You were born ordinary in the

countryside with no money, power, or connection, but my family is rich and powerful. My grandsons are born with billions and are destined for greatness. They have every right to take your woman.

"Even if they killed you, your life is so worthless that the Smith Family can easily afford it. But the one thing you should never done is kill them." Hearing this made Matthew's blood boil. His killing intent flared up crazily. "If that's how you see it, then Jeffrey and Sheldon deserved to die!" William bellowed, "You're a dead man. I'll slaughter your whole family and skin you alive! Drop to your knees, or I'll kill your parents right now."
