THE FORGOTTEN LUNA

Chapter 72

ALPHA RASMUS.

Alpha of the Hallowed Crest Pack.

The drive to Ironcrest Pack territory went smoothly but was boring as fuck.

I drove my own car, and another car followed me, with two of my men in there for security purposes.

I didn't have any enemies like Kael, but Draco knew I was helping him, so I also had to watch my back. I honestly didn't know if I should thank Kael or not because my boring life was suddenly flipped over.

I felt I was also running against time, making sure Kael and Adessa got safely to the north. In the past few weeks, I had made more phone calls and bribed more people than I had in all my years as an Alpha, all to ensure they had what they needed. But I had no regrets. Why the fuck do I help them or Kael in particular?

No, not because of Savannah or Desiree, whoever the fuck she is, especially since I could tell Kael was smitten by his own wife or ex-wife.

The desire to help him was primarily motivated by guilt because he saved my stupid ass, and it cost his mother's life. Although he never once blamed me or said anything in that regard, I knew it was difficult for him.

Kael and his father were not as close as Kael and his mother. And they drifted more apart because of her death. So I knew that on the day Luna Liana died, Kael also lost his father. So I wanted to make sure that even if he lost his parents, he would always have a brother in me.

So Savannah getting in between us tortured me for one whole fucking year.

It was only recently I had learned to accept that I pushed him to a better woman with that one-night stand. So, I tried to put all this at the back of my mind and moved forward.

Kael and I were mending, and I would never let another woman get in the way of our brotherhood.

I was seated in Kael's office and staring at the wall, my fingers flipping a pen as I went over my conversation with Beta Dexter and Delta Landon, Kael's second and third in command. Kael instructed me to watch both, specifically his Beta.

I think he was right that I paid more attention to Dexter because I instantly felt I was not welcome here.

Of course, if I weren't here, he'd be the one acting as the Alpha of this pack.

Dexter could give me a sour or foul mood day in and day out, but it wouldn't make me run back home.

My own Beta was stubborn as hell as well, but I surely knew where his loyalty stood. So, dealing with Dexter should be easy. And since Kael allowed me to go all out with him to the point of banishing or putting him in jail if needed, this task already looked like fun. I chuckled and shook my head when my attention was drawn to some commotion outside my door.

I removed my feet from resting on the table just in time for the door to open. Martin was behind it-one of my men who had been here since Kael requested security.

"Alpha, Alpha Kael's ex-girlfriend demanded to come here." He spoke even before I could ask what was going on. "I already told her..."

"I just want to know where Miranda is!" Someone yelled that Martin was not able to finish his words.

Then, the door was pushed wider, and woman with perfectly curled blonde hair came in.

My fucking mouth hung open, but I was able to catch myself right away and close it.

I eased back in my chair and crossed my feet, resting my forearms on the armrests as I watched Savannah or Desiree step forward.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

She glared at Martin before tilting her head back to the front to meet my gaze.

In an instant, her eyes widened, and the color faded from her face as if she had seen a ghost.

I refrained from laughing or showing any emotion. Instead, I looked at Martin and gave him a nod, a simple instruction that everything was okay and that he could leave us.

I watched as he closed the door, and only then did I return my attention to the woman who still bore the same shocked expression.

"What are you doing here?" she

asked in a high-pitched voice that

allured me the first time I met her. I

couldn't deny that, despite the high

pitch her

voice really sounded

sweet.

"What are you doing here?" I asked back, making sure my face was devoid of emotions as I raked her body up and down.

She was skinnier when I first met her. Her body became more voluptuous, which suited her well, but she was still as sexy as fuck. Did her breasts grow bigger?

I discreetly swallowed and returned my eyes to her face, reminding myself that I had a whore in front of me.

"I want to talk to Kael." She said, her eyebrows raising.

"Obviously, he's not here," I answered in a bored tone.

"How did you know Kael?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

It seemed Kael didn't tell her our connection or even my name, as had never spoken to her again after Kael threw me buck-naked out of the hotel room where I was fucking her.

"We've become friends after that night." I lied, still with a poker face.

"I can't believe this!" She threw her hands in the air, and I could tell she was upset. Really upset. "Did he regain his memory?"

I leaned forward and rested my

arms on the table, clasping my hands together before letting a

wicked grin curl on my lips. "What if I

tell you Kael never lost his memory? Yes.

nodded my head, supporting

mydies. "He played all of you."

Her hand went to her mouth as her eyes widened again. She stepped back before turning her body around, ready to bolt out. "Savannah!" I roared.

I had no idea what had happened to me, and I reacted like that, but the thought of her leaving didn't sit well with me.

I wasn't done with her yet.

Her body froze as my voice echoed around us. It took forever before she slowly turned around and faced me again. "My name is Desire." She said with gritted teeth.

"I know. My name is Alpha Rasmus. Alpha of the Hallowed Crest Pack."

Her jaw dropped again as anger flashed across her face. "You lied to me!" She shrieked, and I didn't suppress my laughter this time, letting it echo all around us.
