Chapter 117
Jeff is rich. He just doesn't show off.
While seated at the podium, Doctor William surveyed the students in the traditional medicine department. The day of the Medical Quiz was finally drawing near.
He had been working extremely hard for years to give the traditional medicine department the same exposure as the modern medicine department, but all of his efforts had been in vain.
The department of traditional medicine is in decline, but with Jeff and Billy's arrival, there is now some hope for them.
Given that the semester was halfway through, everyone assumed that the Quiz served as the semester's final exam.
"We just need four students to participate” Doctor William's voice rang in the hall.
Everybody has given it their all this semester, and I sincerely appreciate their involvement.
The only way to demonstrate that the field of traditional medicine still has hope is to complete this quiz. The healing powers of
traditional medicine remain intact, and it may even surpass the capabilities of modern medicine. Simply put, we must convince them of it" "Doctor William's," a voice rang out among the students. "Who are the four students that will participate in the Quiz? I'm really curious." The voice belongs to David, a senior in the department.
Every student in his immediate vicinity was staring at him. They knew he was going to deliberately target Jeff again.
Jeff stood opposite Billy, who was compelled to roll his eyes in reaction to what David had said.
It has been a few weeks since Billy's recovery, and he has been going to classes with Jeff.
Many rumors circulated when Billy returned to school, but eventually people forgot about the incident and began forming friendships with the two.
Once, a girl even asked Billy for Liam's number,

Jeff stayed impartial, merely playing the part of the cool, attractive guy in the Traditional medicine department, while Billy, being fairly cheerful and laid back, had no trouble making friends.
In a strange way, Jeff's good looks even exposed the Traditional Medicine division.
David found it extremely annoying that Jeff was becoming so popular at school because he believed he knew Jeff's character. A young boy who goes out with different rich women because of money.
To him, Jeff was a cheap bastard and a hypocrite.
David would thus constantly target Jeff out of hatred, but Jeff would not back down, which only made David's hatred grow.
"As a senior of this department and as someone who would always want the success of our group, I would want the four participants to be chosen carefully. Four
participants with no tainted reputation and of course must be a best student" David added to his words, a deliberate smile on his lips.
He glanced at Jeff, who didn't spare him a glance. Jeff didn't even seem to be listening to him. I Of course, they all knew what David meant by tainted reputation’.
Jeff had so many rumors and scandals surrounding him this year... So naturally, David was referring to Jeff again.
"David," Doctor William called. "The four participants have already been decided by everyone in the group. And they are all admirable individuals." There was a long moment of silence during which David seemed reluctant to speak. "l am just a little concerned because this semester, a certain junior found himself in some negative rumors; I do not want it to have an impact on our performance." After David said that, a low chuckle resounded in the hall, taking everyone by surprise.
They were taken aback by the person who let out the low laugh rather than the laugh itself.
"I had no idea that rumors could affect a quiz taker's score." For a while, no one could speak.
It was the first time he had laughed, and now he answered David's ridiculous nonsense.
Even though the laugh didn't sound like a real laugh but something more devilish, some students were still surprised that Jeff laughed.
Jeff laughed! The aloof boy who never seems to bother! It's quite alarming.
Jeff continued, sounding slightly irate, "If you are targeting, come at me and stop beating around the bush." As he spoke, he did not seem to be in the best of spirits.
David was so taken aback by Jeff's response
that he was unable to even speak. He was accustomed to Jeff's constant silence and lack of response to his statements.
Doctor William said, "It is okay, y'all," cutting through the mounting anxiety. "The four participants will be Sarah Bush, Dylan Jones, Veronica Mars, and the last participants will be..." David had to be one of the participants, so the students could not understand why Doctor William had not selected him.
And then, will not Jeff be selected? David felt uneasy as well. Jeff's answer to his taunts was greatly affecting him.
"Jeff Hemsworth will be the fourth Participant” Doctor William completed his words.
When Doctor William announced the last participant, a round of applause broke out in the hall, but not everyone was pleased with the selection.
How could Jeff, a junior replace David, his Senior?
David felt a lump in his chest and couldn't react for a long time. He gazed at Doctor William who only gave a tight smile.
"Please remember to check on what is posted each day and do not forget about our study group. Read your books and read ahead of everything" Doctor William said. "We have to show them that traditional medicine is just as important.” Billy leapt to give Jeff a hug. "Congratulations Bro! Our next champion!" Billy purposely continued to hype Jeff in order to agitate those who were upset that Jeff was picked rather than David.
Doctor William selected the four participants based on qualities he had observed in them as well as their abilities.
There is a good likelihood that a fight will break out if David takes the quiz.
Billy gave Jeff a playful shove and said, "Let us go out to eat, bills on you."

"Me too." : "Me three." "Me four." "Me five." Despite being somewhat surprised by these people's answers, Jeff nodded and said, "Okay.
"Where should we eat? Jeff is treating everyone today!" Billy shouted, drawing other students’ attention who joined right away.
A woman's voice interrupted them before anyone could respond. "Hi there! I'm looking for Jeff." When Jeff realized who the woman was, a glint of coldness appeared in his eyes. "What do you want?" With curiosity about what was happening, everyone stayed silent.
"Please spare me a few minutes of your time.
The woman said, "Just a few minutes,” in a tone that was simultaneously professional and defenseless.
Jeff reached inside his pocket and pulled out a card. "You guys can find where to eat. I will come and meet you." After giving Billy the card, he exited the classroom.
Billy took the card happily, facing the guys who decided to eat with them. "Let's go guys, he will come and meet us later." However, the students didn't move. They were all looking at Billy with strange looks.
"Is that a black premium card?" One of them inquired, her eyes glimmering with surprise.
Billy took a quick look at the card and understood why everyone was looking shocked. "Ahhh," he laughed. "Jeff is rich. He just doesn't show off. Guys, let us head to the restaurant and eat!"
