Chapter 52 Sweet Voice

"Ah? Will she continue to feel like this in the future? That's so uncomfortable!" Dylan said, supporting Ranita who was about to pass out.

"Steve, can you think of a solution?"

"I really don't have one!" Steve frowned and asked worriedly, "Ranita, do you feel better?"

"Dylan, Dr. Pearson, don't worry! I feel much better now," Ranita replied after throwing up and feeling relief in her stomach.

However, Steve was still worried about her and suggested that she stay overnight at the hospital. Dylan also tried to persuade her but Ranita reluctantly agreed.

But soon enough, Dylan and Steve started arguing again.

"I'll stay here tonight to take care of Ranita. You can go back home," said Dylan.

"I'm a doctor. It's more appropriate for me to stay here! Don't you have work tomorrow?" argued Steve.

And then they began a five-minute long argument with neither willing to back down.

Ranita had a headache from their bickering and finally spoke up, "There are nurses here. I'll be fine on my own! Dylan, aren't you supposed to go on a trip tomorrow? And Dr. Pearson, you need rest too! Please go home!"

"No objections accepted!"

Although Ranita said that she would be okay alone at the hospital, no one felt comfortable leaving her there by herself. Fortunately, Mia arrived just in time!

Dylan had no choice but reluctantly went home while Steve couldn't continue his examination. Before he left he took out a lollipop from his white coat pocket, "Rest well."

"Thank you!" The candy was colorful - specifically meant for children - but it made Ranita happy nonetheless as it showed kindness without burdening anyone else financially or otherwise.

Mia watched as both handsome men left and exclaimed enviously, "Ranita, I envy how easily you make friends with handsome guys wherever you go!"

"It was all an accidental meeting!" Ranita paused and smiled. "And you know Dylan too!"

Mia pursed her lips, feeling guilty. "You really went through a lot this time, it's all because of me..."

"Why bring that up?" Ranita interrupted her. "You didn't do it on purpose! You couldn't come back because of an accident."

"Mm..." Mia nodded with lowered eyes, looking uninterested.

"Don't worry about it, Mia," Ranita comforted her. "It's just a sprained ankle, rest for a few days and I'll be fine! But now that you're back, the remaining tasks at Sugar Media are yours to handle."

"Okay!" Mia agreed and poured another glass of water for Ranita. She mentioned Carl who had taken on a project out of town and wouldn't be in Kurima for some time. Ranita was worried he would be concerned about her situation so she told Mia not to mention anything. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Mia chatted with her as usual but Ranita sensed something was bothering Mia. She wanted to ask about it but Mia received any phone calls and said there were any family issues. Ranita suggested she should go back since it was late and the hospital didn't allow visitors anymore.

"I'm sorry! Should I let Dylan come over..."

"Alright! I'm really fine! You go ahead and get busy!" Ranita, who had worked with Mia for several years, replied without hesitation, "It's not like I broke a leg. I can take care of myself."

Mia apologized again before leaving quickly with her bag in hand.

The room became quiet after she left and Ranita slowly got off the bed to go to the bathroom when she heard creaking from behind the door. Thinking Mia had returned, she lazily said, "Why did you come back? Just in time though since these shoes seem possessed... I can't put them on no matter what..."

Her voice sounded lazy yet slightly coquettish at the same time.
