Chapter 719
The Charming Ex–Wife
Chapter 719 At Least One Of Us Must Survive
When these words were spoken, Lysander seemed to understand something. She looked at Tiffany incredulously.

Tiffany happened to be looking at her. A malicious glint appeared in her eyes as she asked, “This is truly touching. But words are just words, and I need some proof. Do you know what is most abundant in this warehouse?”
As she spoke, the bodyguards had already brought Lysander to the innermost part of the warehouse and securely bound her to a chair, using chains instead of ropes.
Josiah’s expression hardened, and he instinctively stepped forward. “Let her go!”
Tiffany intercepted him, looking keenly interested. “Jose, you better stay here. Otherwise, I can’t guarantee what I might do. I might accidentally strangle Lysander to death.”
She gestured toward Lysander, her tone disturbingly casual.
Worried that this madwoman might truly harm Lysander, Josiah clenched his fists at his sides, barely restraining his urge to attack. Blood dripped from his fingertips.
Tiffany glanced down and asked curiously, “Doesn’t that hurt?”
Josiah had no interest in wasting words with her. Seeing her attempt to inspect his injuries, he promptly blocked her, his eyes filled with unmistakable disdain.
Time ticked by.
The chains binding Lysander caused her intense pain, and she could barely maintain a seated position on the chair. When the bodyguard finally removed the towel from her mouth, she erupted into a fit of violent coughing.
Josiah cast a pained look in her direction.
Seeing the difference in how he treated her and Lysander, Tiffany couldn’t help but say unhappily, “Jose, it seems you really hate me. n when you realized Lyse’s true nature, you never looked at her with a sharp gaze. I wonder how Lyse is doing in the orphanage. She came from there, so it is like going home. I think your idea was great, so I plan to follow it. I heard Lysa had amnesia after almost drowning as a child?”
Josiah gritted his teeth and demanded, “What exactly do you want?”
“Don’t be anxious. I just want you to make a choice,” Tiffany explained with a gleeful smile. “Since Lysa nearly drowned once, she must fear water. So, I thought I would give her a warming experience with fire.”
Her tone was light, as if she wasn’t talking about burning someone alive. She clapped her hands and stepped back. “How fun.”
As she reached the warehouse door, she tossed a lighter into a pile of boxes by the wall. Flames quickly engulfed the old items and machine oil stored there.
Josiah was close to the door and could have escaped, but he did not.
Lysander watched him run toward her, panic in her voice. “You need to go! It is pointless now! One of us

All grudges vanished in the face of the growing flames, replaced by a desperate urgency to survive together.
Tiffany watched the fire coldly, her lips pursed, waiting for Josiah to give up.

“No one can love another more than themselves. That’s impossible,” she said confidently. “It is human nature. No one can defy it.”
The burning of the machine oil was rapid, and the smoke billowing out from the door was already quite suffocating.
The bodyguards behind Tiffany coughed but did not dare move without her command. They covered their mouths and noses, puzzled.
Is Josiah really going to give up his chance to escape for a woman?
They couldn’t understand it.
The fire quickly consumed the cluttered items blocking the doorway. Even if Josiah wanted to turn back now, he couldn’t get out.
“Jose, you are really not leaving?”
Josiah glared at her coldly. “Tiffany, stop while you still can. Don’t make a mess that no one can clean up.”
“But you don’t want to be with me, Jose. Unlike Lyse, I am not stupid. If I can’t have you, I will destroy us both.”
The bodyguards caught on and began dousing the warehouse entrance with gasoline, planning to burn the place down entirely. Even if the police investigated, they wouldn’t find evidence against them.
Tiffany stepped outside, looking back at the raging fire.
Undeterred by the flames, Josiah rushed to free Lysander from the chains.
“Ms. Lanister, everything’s taken care of.”
They had already once put into practice the method of destroying bodies and erasing traces in the mountain village.
Tiffany turned away coldly. “Forg
A stubborn man is useless. Let’s go.”
Inside the warehouse, Josiah finally freed Lysander from the last chain.
After the chain clattered to the ground, they supported each other, heading for the unburned staircase.
Thick smoke hindered their vision.
Josiah coughed violently but kept a steady grip on Lysander. Blood soaked through her sleeve, but she made no sound, pulling him toward higher ground.
Finally, they reached the staircase clinging to the outer wall, breathing in fresh air. Below, the warehouse was a sea of flames, and the stairs leading down were destroyed.
Lysander coughed. She felt the heat intensifving but oddly wasn’t afraid. Half–ioking, she said. “I did not

expect to die with you in the end”
Josiah smiled bitterly, “Are you sad? You once had an abortion to avoid seeing me again, but now we are dying together”
“It is pointless to talk about it now. The children are safe, I have no regrets. If we die here, we will be with Dad and our child. I just hope Mom and Michelle won’t be too sud”
Lysander knew this was impossible. The pain in her heart was immense,
“Mdm. Laura will be heartbroken” Josiah said, looking up. He suddenly had an idea but needed to speak before acting, “Lysander, if we make it out, take Mdm. Laura and Michelle to the old house. My mom is lonely. If you could stay with her, she’d be happy, Mr. Maverick and Mrs. Thome have missed you?
Lysander frowned slightly. “How will we get out?”
Ignoring her question, Josiah continued, “Olivia told me you took the seal home. That’s good. You can retrieve the items I kept in the bank safe. There is a document that will be useful”
