Chapter 702
Chapter 702 She Is A Very Important Person To Me
Dillon and Tiffany hadn’t expected him to bring a young girl along. Their expressions betrayed a moment of surprise. However, given that they needed his help, weiher dared to show their displeasure.
Tiffany could tell that Josiah was likely transferring his guilt over his deceased daughter onto Nilou. Even though she actually looked down on this country bumpkin, she still pretended to look approachable.
Jose, this little girl is really adorable. Can I take her out to play for a while?”
A village child hasn’t seen much of the world before. A few sugar–coated words are enough to win her over.
Upon thinking about it, Nilou declared decisively, “If you want to go out and have fun, feel free to go on your own. I don’t want to go.”
Tiffany often acted innocent and naive like a little girl. Now that she was face–to- face with a genuine little girl, she was caught completely off guard.
Taking advantage of the situation, Josiah skipped the pleasantries and said, “Kids get hungry easily. Since we’re all here, let’s eat first.”
Dillon knew that a private conversation with Josiah was not going to happen. Unable to think of any other way to send Nilou away, he had no choice but to pass the menu over.
“Mr. Guerra, Tiff mentioned that both of you had dined here before and found these dishes quite to your liking. We’ve gone ahead and prepared them for you. Would you like to add a few more to the order?”
Josiah seemed distracted as he replied, “Whatever. Anything goes.”
After glancing at Nilou, he added, “Let’s include a dessert. Kids love desserts.”
Dillon noticed that Josiah’s attitude toward Tiffany was friendlier when Lysander was not around. Thinking that Lysander was the reason for Josiah’s previous change, Dillon was determined to convince him by using Tiffany.
Surprisingly, there was less talk about the lake project.

of amassing all this wealth? It’s all for Tiffany, my child. If I don’t leave her with some assets, I wouldn’t be able to rest easy even in death…”
This marked the beginning of a new strategy–playing the victim card.
If Josiah hadn’t known Dillon’s true nature, he might have been moved by Dillon’s seemingly sincere love for his daughter. But now, things were different.
Each time he thought about how Tiffany had deliberately crafted those words to target his vulnerabilities, he felt a chill run down his spine.
His vulnerabilities were nothing more than something to be exploited in Tiffany’s
eyes.
Josiah maintained a poker face throughout.
Dillon still planned to play the victim, but this move was no longer of any use.
Even after he spoke for a long time, Josiah remained unyielding. Feeling a bit disheartened, he stood up and said, “Mr. Guerra, we’ve pretty much finished our meal. I’m going to use the restroom.”
A thought crossed Josiah’s mind. He glanced sideways at Tiffany just in time to catch her giving Dillon a look.
Without any change in his expression, he subtly averted his gaze and gave a slight nod. “Sure.”
Dillon left the private room.
Before coming, Tiffany had made a deliberate effort to dress up. She was well aware of her strengths. Thus, she had a natural makeup look to accentuate her beautiful features, focusing only on adding blush to the tip of her nose and the corners of her eyes. Coupled with her layered dress, she looked just like a doll that had stepped right out of a display window.
“Jose, let’s go outside and wait for Dad together.”
She gently bit her lower lip and walked over with an uneasy expression. Just as she was about to grasp Josiah’s arm, a clanging sound echoed by her ear.
Nilou, who was sitting next to Josiah, said, “I’m sorry, I accidentally knocked over the cake.”

The entire plate of blueberry forest cake fell onto Tiffany’s light–colored dress. Her meticulously coordinated outfit was ruined. She was in no state to meet anyone, let alone spend time with Josiah alone.
Tiffany’s expression shifted slightly. “You…

Tiffany gritted her teeth. “Yeah, of course not.”
a day. I’ll go and
Josiah said. “Since your father doesn’t want to talk, let’s call it a day. I’ll settle the bill.”
Jose… Tiffany called out to him.
“What?”
“I heard your employees calling Lysa Mrs. Thorne today. Are you two together now?”
Josiah replied, “Didn’t you already know this? Why are you asking the obvious?”
“But didn’t you two get divorced? Did she… Did she go back on her words?”
Josiah’s expression turned serious. “Whatever decision she makes, that’s her business. Let me make one thing clear to you. Whether we’re together or not, she is someone very important to me. If you harm her, it’s as if you’re harming me. D you understand?”
Tiffany remained silent.
He rose to his feet. “Nilou, let’s go.”
Meanwhile, Lysander was strolling down the road near the Guerra family’s old house while pushing the baby stroller.
The residential area was beautifully landscaped, with charming mini parks scattered everywhere. Come nightfall, there was an abundance of street lamps lighting up every corner. Furthermore, with 24–hour security patrols in the vicinity, the safety of the area was well assured.
When Susan saw Lysander bringing Rhizone and the baby over, she was so

overjoyed that she completely forgot about her own son. It wasn’t until they were halfway through the welcome dinner that she remembered to ask about Josiah’s whereabouts.
Of course, Lysander couldn’t admit that he was dining with Tiffany and exploiting his handsomeness. She had to come up with an excuse on the spot. “He has some work to handle. It will take him a while before he comes back with Nilou.”
Rhizone was a quiet person who was especially tight–lipped. While he was always polite, he never spoke more than necessary, especially when it came to matters he shouldn’t discuss.
Believing Lysander, Susan immediately complained, “Josiah’s always busy with work. But why did he involve the child too?”
“Nilou is quite clever. She possesses a natural talent for business. It seems that Josiah wants to nurture this in her.”
Lysander was not good at lying. Worried that this excuse might be too weak, she changed the subject by bringing up Aurora.
“By the way, Madam Susan, Ms. Lionhart has some matters to attend to, so she has to stay outside for a while. As Aurora is too young, it’s difficult for her to bring Aurora around. I’m afraid I’ll have to impose on you with her for some time.”
Susan had always dreamed of having a little baby in the house. Looking at the adorable child in Lysander’s arms, she quickly said, “Oh, it’s no bother at all! I’m home alone all day, with only Eleanor for company. It wouldn’t be a problem even if you stayed forever.”
As she spoke, she attempted to reach out and cradle Aurora. However, no sooner had she touched Aurora, a loud cry rang out. Aurora was unhappy and had burst
into tears.
Noticing that Aurora’s face had turned red from crying, Susan felt her heart ache. “This is my fault. Such a young baby is bound to be scared of strangers. I shouldn’t have hugged her during our first meeting. It’s no wonder she’s frightened.”
Lysander was somewhat taken aback.
Aurora was not at all shy in front of her and Josiah, even though they were strangers. When she first met Nieva, the latter had daringly entrusted her with Aurora.

Could it be that furora has become timid because Nieva isn’t around?
The thought crossed Lysander’s mind. She couldn’t help but feel upset for Aurora. Wanting Aurora to adapt to the new environment as quickly as possible and to have a good night’s sleep, Lysander took her out for a stroll in the baby stroller. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Aurora was not afraid of the dark. In fact, she was quite fond of the scenery. As Lysander pushed the baby stroller along the path, Aurora laughed happily, her eyes crinkling. She was gazing at the night sky and chuckling heartily.
Just as they were about to turn back, Lysander caught a glimpse of a figure swiftly dodging out of sight from the corner of her eye.
