The CEOs Possession

Emergency

Veil’s eyes met the clock hanging above the wall, realizing that she had only been working for an hour. Her feet still hurt like hell even though she had taken off her shoes and replaced them with the pair of slides she found beside the desk.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.

They obviously belonged to Anders, with how huge they looked on her feet. Veil wasn’t even sure it was a good idea to have them on, seeing as Anders looked for every way to make her life a living hell.

Her ankles were swollen and she desperately needed to lay on the couch beside the desk.

“It will be just for a few minutes,” she told herself, getting out of the office chair and stretching her small frame on the couch. It was uncomfortable sleeping in the dress Anders got, but she had no other choice.

The couch felt really soft underneath her body, and she couldn’t help snuggling into the arms of sleep. Even when Anders walked in an hour later, in his black pajamas, her soft breaths still serenaded the room.

Anders stopped by the foot of the stairs, his eyes zeroing on Veil. He couldn’t count the number of times he had imagined her in his home, on that couch. Yet, none of them had her falling asleep after working.

His’ imagination ran much wilder.

In there, Veil’s head was nestled between his thighs, with his hard cock in her mouth. The vivid picture of her head bobbing up and down as she took the whole length in made him horny.

Since the night at the club, he had wanted nothing but to claim her as his own. And nothing had changed.

He walked into the office, glancing at the screen of the computer. She hadn’t even gone halfway into the paper before falling asleep, and it made him wonder if yelling at her was the right thing to do at this minute.

He felt like it, even though she had no fault in what happened. He just really still hadn’t gotten over how low that man’s hands were on her.

Leaving the computer, Anders stooped beside Veil, watching her eyes squeeze slightly as his frame blocked the lights. Her hair was all over her face, so Anders reached out slowly, moving the curls away.

His hand lingered on her face longer than appropriate between a CEO and his employee, and a sudden feeling to keep her there in his house for as long as he could overpowered him.

“Fuck that bastard!” Anders swore exasperatedly. The sound stirred Veil from her sleep, so suddenly that Anders had no time to back away from her before her eyes flew open.

The first thought that came to Veil’s mind was how intense Anders’ black eyes looked up close. They were rich and bold, attentive like they could see her darkest secrets. Her throat suddenly felt dry, and she felt the need to take water.

But for some reason, she stood still, not breaking the spell. Anders’ eyes caressed her face slowly, lingering on her lips.

Veil wondered if he would kiss her, and asked herself how she would react if he did. It was a huge weight to bear because she was sure as hell that Anders’ would find a way to pin it on her, irrespective of what had happened.

“You’ve been asleep for over two hours,” Anders commented, dragging his eyes back to her face. “Do you think you have any more energy left in you to keep working?”

“Yes…” Veil’s voice came out as a whisper, and although she didn’t notice, it made every muscle in Anders freeze. She cleared her throat noisily and tried again.

“Yes sir. I can get back to work. I’m sorry I fell asleep. I was just so…”

Anders’ eyes fell on her swollen ankles suddenly, and Veil attempted to cover it with her dress.

“You didn’t tell me your legs ached,” he said calmly, like he was blaming himself. “I would have brought you home earlier.”

“Home?” Veil thought to herself, playing his tone in her head. Did he mean his mansion or her little apartment?

“It isn’t that bad,” Veil said when she realized he was waiting for a response.

“It doesn’t look good,” Anders shot back. Getting back on his feet at once, he lifted Veil in his arms and walked out of the office, taking the stairs up to the guest bedroom.

He gingerly placed her on the bed, and went back down the stairs, returning with ice.

“This should reduce the swelling,” he said, handing it over to Veil. “I also brought your phone.”

Anders threw the phone beside her, and just when she thought he’d leave her be, he towered above her, watching her tend to her swollen ankle.

“What’s wrong with him?” Veil wondered. Trying to play the nice boss, was he? These days, she’s beginning to think he has got the multiple personality disorder. The next morning, she expected him to still yell at her for coming late to work, even if he kept her awake all night.

“Was that your boyfriend?” Anders suddenly shot. “The man at the party tonight.”

Veil was too tired to start another round with him so she just shook her head. “No, Mr. Roderiguez. Orleans isn’t my boyfriend.”

“We’ll, do you have one?”

“A boyfriend?” Veil didn’t think being single was another requirement for being his secretary, but of course, she couldn’t voice that out. “No, sir. I don’t have a boyfriend.”

The shrill of her phone disrupted the silence in the room, and Veil jumped in fright. The caller ID read “hospital” and her heartbeat accelerated really fast.

Veil was beginning to panic.

She had feared that on a cold and lonely night, she was going to receive a call like this, announcing that her father didn’t make it.

Her eyes watered instantly as she stared at the ringing phone, not making one move to pick it up.

“Aren’t you going to pick that up?” Anders asked, but Veil couldn’t even hear him. His voice sounded so far away like she was trapped in another space and time and couldn’t reach him.

As tears slowly streaked down her face, Anders only became more worried.
