Chapter 1621
The moment Aurora saw her brother lying on the ground, her heart nearly stopped with fright!
Thankfully, when she checked, he was still breathing.
With Craig by her side, strong and ready to assist, Aurora didn't call her mother to spill the beans in the middle of the night. Instead, she simply said she found her brother and was with him now.
"The patient has an acute gastric perforation and needs surgery," the doctor announced with a grave tone after the examination.
Aurora nodded vigorously, "Yes, go ahead with the surgery! As long as it can be treated, please do it!"
"Are you a family member?"
"Yes, I'm his sister."
The doctor frowned slightly, "Are there any other family members? Parents, wife?"
"They're not here," Aurora glanced at the doctor. "Dr. Henry, he's a friend of my brother."
With that said, everyone understood the situation.
"Ah, then please, come with me to sign the paperwork."
"Alright."
Aurora was busy non-stop, signing documents, confirming details, and listening to the doctor explain the potential risks of the surgery.
Craig remained steadfastly by the surgery room, not daring to leave even for a moment.novelbin
Fortunately, the perforation wasn't too severe. There was no need to remove part of the stomach; stitching up the perforation would suffice. When Miles was wheeled out after the surgery, Aurora couldn't hold back her tears any longer.
"Bro, what were you thinking? Even without Felicity, you still have me, and our parents. How could you just give up?"
Miles, still under the influence of anesthesia, merely opened his eyes without saying a word.
"I won't allow this anymore! Mom and Dad still don't know about this. If they find out, they'll be so worried. You know Mom's health isn't great..." Aurora was ready to let it all out, but Craig gently squeezed her wrist and shook his head, signaling that it was enough.
What's done is done, and there was no use in talking about it now.
Besides...
As a man himself, Craig knew that Miles probably understood everything. He was just struggling to accept reality at the moment.
"Craig... I'm so scared... What if my brother really died, what would I do..."
Craig patted her back, "Hey, it's alright. The surgery went well, didn't it? Stop crying."
He handed her a tissue to wipe her tears.
Back in the VIP ward, the doctor instructed that the patient should stay awake post-surgery, so Craig grabbed a chair and sat by Mile's, both staring at each other in silence.

"Where's Abigail?"
Miles finally spoke, his voice raspy as if it had been scraped with a stone.
"She's been up all night and went to the next room to catch some sleep."
After being scared half to death and then crying her eyes out, Aurora was physically drained.
"Oh."
Craig wasn't one to initiate
conversation even though he was about to marry into the Lopez family. His interactions with the

somewhat distant, not out of aversion but simply due to his personality. He had always been this way, ever since he was a kid.
"You should get some sleep too. I'm fine."
Miles had fully regained consciousness, though his face was still pale and his lips colorless.
"No need, I'm not tired."
"Didn't you also stay up all night?"
"My mom often got sick in the
middle of the night, so I'm used to staying up and taking care of her,'" Craig explained, showing that waiting rooms and emergency rooms were nothing new to him.
Miles managed a weak smile, "You guys... are getting married soon."
