Chapter 227
Chapter 227
Ivy could see the sincerity in Wyatt’s eyes the moment he told her that he wants her back. She could feel his regret. But would it be worth it if she will give him another chance? What if he will waste that chance once again? What if things in the past will repeat? If that will be the case, she doesn’t know if she can still fix herself. She doesn’t want to get hurt once again. She doesn’t want to be ignored—to be treated as if she was just a maid, not his wife. “You can slap me, hit me whenever you want. But please, know that I love you. I was a jerk. I only realize everything when you left. I am a fool. Please, forgive me for all the wrongs that I have done. I promise—” “I don’t want you to promise me a thing, Wyatt. I don’t want to hold into your promises again. You know how broken I was when you made me feel as if I am nothing. Let me ask you, have you ever considered me as your wife?” Wyatt never dared to break his gaze on her and nodded. “Yes. But I know it is all my fault because I let Alice ruin everything. I love you, Ivy. I swear, it’s not hard to love you. I admit, I am in need… of Alice's medication in the beginning but you must know that I appreciate all your efforts and I didn’t expect that my family will treat you that way. You’re not telling me anything. When I am asking you, you’re saying everything was fine. You should’ve—” “You don’t know my situation that time, Wyatt. I love you since the day I set my eyes on you. I am a big fool to agree with all your terms. Don’t worry, everything that happened in the past was not only your fault. I am into it too. If I didn’t let my fucking heart betray my mind, I don’t get broken.” “Ivy…” Ivy smiled. “Don’t worry. I want to bury everything in the deep. I don’t want to talk about them anymore. I forgive you, Wyatt. But I don’t know if we can still be together—” “Ivy, please…” Wyatt crossed their distance and held her hand, “we can still be together. Just let me love you.” Ivy would be the happiest woman in the world if Wyatt showed this side of him from the beginning. But she broke her once. How sure she was that he won’t do it again? Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
“You know how hurt I was—” “Hey…” Wyatt cupped her face, “I won’t let that happen again. Trust me. Please, Ivy, I want you back. Let me love you.” “I-It so fast.” “Then we’ll take it slowly. I will not force you to give all the love that—” “Who said that I love you?” Ivy frowned as she moved away from him. Wyatt bit his lower lip. “Uhm, you just said that you love me—” “When?” Ivy crossed her arms in front of her chest. Wyatt scratched the back of his head and smiled awkwardly. “I-Ivy…” Ivy bit her lower lip. Damn, he’s cute! “I am giving you a chance, Wyatt Reed. But don’t rush. I don’t want to remarry right away.” “Yes, Ma’am. Uhm, where do you want to go next?” he asked. “I want to watch a movie.” Wyatt nodded and smiled. At this moment, Ivy suddenly realized that she felt relief. She doesn’t know but it seems like her heart doesn’t weigh too much. Windy is right, Wyatt deserves another chance. Although she’s a little anxious about the possible outcome, at least, they’re giving it another try. Hopefully, Wyatt won’t ruin this chance. “Can I invite you to dinner after the movie?” Wyatt asked while they were on their way to the theater. Ivy nodded. Wyatt couldn’t help but smile and said, ‘thank you,’ after. Ivy and Wyatt spend the day together. Wyatt made sure that everything will go smoothly. And when they get back to Ivy’s building, he said, “I had a great time, today. Thank you.” Ivy nodded. She had a great time too, but she can’t let Wyatt think that she’s that easy to please. “C-Can I ask you out, again, tomorrow?” Wyatt asked, a little bit shyly. Ivy pressed her lips together as she nodded. “Sure.” Wyatt smiled widely and was about to hug her when Ivy pushed him. “Not so fast,” she said and glared at him.
Wyatt couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle. “Sorry.” Ivy rolled her eyes and was about to close the door when Wyatt stopped her. “If you need anything, you can just knock on my door,” he said, making Ivy arch her brow. Wyatt smirked. “I am just a few steps closer to you, baby.” He winked at her before he turned his back and pointed to the room in front of her unit.
