Chapter 1123
He had it coming.
Isaac saw right through Brittany's sly trick and decided to play along, grabbing her hand, "Alright then, you help me."This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Clearly, Brittany had underestimated how shameless he could be. She snatched her hand back, her face flushing red, "No way."
Isaac held onto her hand, refusing to let go, and leaned in closer, "Didn't we used to do just fine?"
Brittany vaguely remembered some rather inappropriate scenes, pushing against his chest, unable to meet his dark gaze, "Go take a shower, I'm tired." Isaac's breath hitched, if it wasn't for her condition...
He took a deep breath, planted a quick kiss on her lips, and got up.
"If you're not asleep by the time I'm out, don't say I didn't warn you."
Brittany immediately burrowed under the covers, her eyes peeping out, "Goodnight."
Isaac chuckled under his breath and strode into the bathroom.
The sound of water running filled the space as he washed away his frustrations, donning a fresh set of pajamas afterward.
Brittany, still awake in bed, heard him return and immediately shut her eyes, feigning sleep.
Isaac knew her too well to be fooled.
He approached the bed, lifted the covers, and embraced Brittany.
Brittany's body tensed slightly.
Her eyelids fluttered beneath closed eyes.
Isaac laughed softly, "Stop pretending."
Brittany opened her eyes begrudgingly, "I can't sleep."
She had napped that afternoon.
Isaac lifted her shirt, her stomach still flat.
"I know."
He gently caressed her, feeling the pulse of new life, irresistible in every way.
Brittany nestled into his embrace, her hand clutching his shirt, "Tomorrow morning, can you wait until I'm awake before you leave?" Waking up alone felt too awful.
Isaac intended to refuse, but seeing her hopeful look, the words got stuck in his throat, and he sighed, "Alright." Brittany was content.
...
Yuri was up early.
He instructed the butler to prepare an extra breakfast.
"Mr. Lynette, there are signs of someone climbing over the backyard fence," the butler thought it was a thief.
Yuri's face darkened, "Erase the traces, don't let anyone find out."
He knew exactly who had climbed the fence.
"Later, give all the staff the day off; they don't need to return before the afternoon."
Yuri didn't need to guess; he knew who Brittany was with.
The butler, thinking this was an extra perk, hurriedly agreed, "Okay."
Breakfast was served.
Daniel came downstairs, dressed neatly.
Yuri checked the time, went upstairs, and knocked on the door.
Brittany, still drowsy, heard the knock and grudgingly snuggled closer into Isaac's embrace.
"Bri, it must be the staff calling us for breakfast." Isaac had woken up early, having promised Brittany he'd stay.
Reluctantly, Brittany got out of bed, slipped on her slippers, and opened the door.
"Time for breakfast." Yuri stood at the doorway with a stern face.
Brittany felt like she'd been struck by lightning, instinctively trying to block the door.
But it was too late.
Yuri saw the extra person in the room. Even though he had expected it, seeing it with his own eyes was still bothersome.
"Invite him down as well."
Realizing what was happening, Brittany said, "Thanks, dad."
Yuri left with a swish of his cloak, and Brittany shut the door, rushing back to Isaac, "Dad wants you to join us for breakfast. He's accepted you."
