Tenacious Sky

Chapter 30

Chapter 30

"I'm just saying, Sky doesn't have to rely on you alone," Easton said at breakfast the next day. Leo

sighed as he set his fork down.

"You're talking way too much for something that isn't supposed to be talked about. And like I said

before... I like it that way. I've been handling everything fine on my own," Leo answered. I could see he

was clearly annoyed. Easton knowing about me irritated him to no end. They had been talking about

me like I wasn't right next to them the whole time. It was starting to irritate me too.

"Can we talk about something else?" I pleaded. Easton smirked as his attention went to me.

"So you two are a thing now?" Easton asked. I blushed as I looked at my food. I should've just let them

talk.

"I don't know," I said at the same time Leo said yes. I looked at his serious face as we got locked in a

staring competition.

"After all that talk yesterday, you two still haven't figured it out?" Easton asked.

"It's complicated... we're not in a position to date freely," I tried to explain.

"Why not?" Leo challenged me.

"I didn't come here to date. I came here to fence," I said simply. "Now stop. Try talking about something

that appropriate for public, or I'm going to stop talking to you altogether," I threatened. He sighed before

he smirked and ruffled my hair. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

"You're cute when you're annoyed," Easton smiled. Leo hissed in a breath before he clicked his tongue

at Easton. Easton just stuck his tongue out at Leo before he went back to eating.

"Anyway, we need to have a meeting in our room tonight to come up with a game plan and rules. No

offense, Easton, but I don't trust you," Leo smirked at him. Easton only smiled back.

"I'm not surprised," Easton replied. I sighed and pushed my plate away. I grabbed my bag and stood.

"I lost my appetite. I'm going to class," I muttered before walking away. It wasn't long before both boys

were following behind me. Easton said his goodbyes before he left for his classroom. Leo sighed and

plopped into his seat when we reached the classroom. I watched as he closed his eyes and pinched

the bridge of his nose. I could tell he was at his wit's end with Easton, but there was nothing I could do

at the moment. I placed my hand on his arm and gave it a light squeeze. For now, we would just have

to wait. I moved my hand off of his arm as he looked at me. I could see that he was getting stressed

out. Easton being closer to me was causing him problems too.

"Our meet is out of town this weekend. I'm not sure if they'll let you off campus, so I'm saying this in

case you're not there. I'll try to be extra careful," I said, trying to change the subject.

"You'll be traveling with your team, rooming with them, changing with them... you'll basically be with

them 24/7. I'll figure out a way to come along," he said quietly. Jason came into the classroom and we

started our lessons. After class, we had general gym, but because of our upcoming meet, the first team

fencers were excused for extra practice. I tried to focus on getting faster and smarter.

"Great job today," Sawyer said to me after our practice ended. I sighed as I took off my helmet.
