Chapter 1017
"Mmm!" A soft baby coo echoed as tiny hands reached out to knock on the door.
When Leo opened it, Andre promptly handed over his freshly-bathed, soft and squishy son to his nephew. "He's bunking with you guys tonight," Andre declared. Before Leo could even protest, his uncle had already closed the door behind him. Henry looked a bit lost in his brother's arms.
"Henry!" Anya chirped, bouncing off the bed with enthusiasm.
Henry's attention shifted at once. He turned to see Anya gleefully patting Leo on the shoulder, "Ah ah!"
Holding Henry, Leo sighed dramatically, "What did I do to deserve this?"
Henry, inexplicably excited, wriggled around in his brother's embrace, blowing bubbles and flashing his adorable baby teeth in a goofy grin.
Cradling the little bundle, Leo muttered, "Don't get too thrilled. Your dad parked you here because you were cramping his style."
Anya, who just a minute ago seemed wide awake, now snuggled into bed, patting the spot in the middle, "Chad, come on, bedtime."
Leo let out a playful huff, carrying Henry to bed, and ended up sandwiched in the middle with Henry on one side.
Anya had to lean across her boyfriend to catch a glimpse of Henry, thanks to Leo's teasing arrangement. The once spacious bed felt cramped with the little one's addition, nudging the couple closer together. Henry kicked excitedly under the blankets, "Yi ya ya ya ah ah!"
Leo cuddled Henry, gazing at his mischievously adorable little brother. He pinched Henry's cheeks, making them puff up, then leaned in to cover his face with kisses.
Anya, a tad envious, draped herself over Leo, "Chad!"
Leo teased, "A guy can kiss another guy, but you can't."
Anya pouted, knowing she'd lose this playful banter with her boyfriend.
Holding the little bundle, Leo acknowledged his baby brother's charm, like being oh-so-soft and cuddly. "Little buddy, we're boys, so only dudes get to kiss us, alright? Like your big bro here." With that, Leo planted a few more kisses. Henry babbled in his baby talk.
"Say 'brother," Leo instructed.
Henry's little voice chirped, "Ah!"
Meanwhile, Mia was already tucked into bed, watching her husband inch closer. "So, what's the big secret?"
In the dim light, Andre glanced at his wife, swallowing nervously.
Mia, curious since she got home, had been coaxed into a shower by her husband.
After her shower, he nudged her to sleep early. Yet, Mia hadn't managed to coax the secret out of him.
Finally, after a long pregnant pause, Andre said, "I have the Black Pass."
"Pfft, big deal! If I wanted, I could snag one too... Wait, honey, which Black Pass?" Mia shot upright in surprise. Andre saw the shock on Mia's face, feeling a bit exposed, he admitted, "It's exactly what you're thinking."
The Silent Ring!
Mia felt a rush of excitement, "I knew
it was you! You played coy when asked before. Andre, you've been keeping this from me, you're the top dog, aren't you?"
Andre cast a guilty glance away, "Let's just get some sleep." "When did you become the top contender?" Mia pressed on. Andre's eyes flickered, "Can't remember."
Mia settled back down, snuggling into her husband's arms, "Honey got any tips to share? Or maybe inside scoop?"
Andre sighed, "... Honestly, The Silent Ring is pretty boring, you should quit while you're ahead."
Mia, half-frustrated andnovelbin
half-amused, playfully smacked her husband's chest, "Pfft, boring? Yet you fought tooth and nail to be number one? Sweetheart, rumor has it that those who get the Black Pass are invited to a secret club. Have you been there?"
