Chapter 1084 Do Not Speak Recklessly
Feeling slightly irritated, Bailey reached out to grab her phone. She glanced at the screen and saw that
it was a call from Simon.
Perfect timing for this call, she thought.
Without hesitation, she swiped to answer the call.
“What's the matter?” she asked.
Simon's voice came through the microphone, sounding somewhat ingratiating.
“Bailey, I've made some progress in investigating the genuine goods from Saunders Group that you
asked me about. Give me two more days, and I'm confident I can find out where they're hidden.”
Bailey hummed in acknowledgment, her gaze cold and indifferent.
She tapped her fingers on the table, changing the subject. “Simon, what is the complicated history
between your brother and Rebecca, the top commander of Interpol?”
Simon's breathing suddenly became heavy.
Bailey sensed his unease and didn't give him a chance to evade or escape.
“It seems like your brother and Rebecca are rekindling their old flame. They are now in Zaewora,
carefree and deeply involved with each other. Simon, if you don't want to accept me as your sister-in-
law, you can choose to ignore me. Just wait for your brother to bring you a new sister-in-law. But if you
still want to acknowledge me, then tell me honestly. What is their relationship, and how far has it
developed?”
Through the phone, she could feel Simon's internal conflict.
But she couldn't afford to worry about that now. If another woman were to steal Artemis away from her
one day, things would become truly interesting.
Before things became irreparable, she wanted to salvage the situation as much as possible.
After wrestling with his thoughts for a while, Simon finally spoke. “Bailey, I know that even if I don't tell
you, you'll find out through other means... Rather than hearing baseless rumors from others, it's better
if I tell you directly to avoid any misunderstandings. A few years ago, my brother was indeed close to
Rebecca. They were inseparable. I think it was about four years ago when I went to Lommore to attend
a friend's gathering. I saw my brother bring Rebecca to a dinner party. Afterwards, I asked him if he
was planning to marry Rebecca and make her my sister-in-law. At the time, he denied it, simply stating
that Rebecca was a member of Interpol. Building a good relationship with her would be beneficial for
the development of Luther Group. Then, about three years ago, my brother and Rebecca cut off all
contact with each other. They became like strangers. I don't know why they suddenly got back in touch,
but I can vouch for my brother's character. He only has you in his heart. He would never get involved
with another woman.”
After hearing this, Bailey felt as if all her strength had been drained from her body. She weakly leaned
against the back of the swivel chair.
Four years ago, Artemis had attended a grand international cocktail party with Rebecca. Even Simon
had mistakenly thought that he was going to marry Rebecca, which clearly showed that they had given
the outside world a significant misunderstanding.
Artemis is not someone who easily falls into emotions, nor is he someone who gets involved with just
anyone.
There must be some secret hidden in his past with Rebecca.
“Bailey,” Simon said, sounding as if he had done something wrong, “My brother won't let you down, so
don't let your imagination run wild. If you're really worried, then go to Zaewora. You can keep an eye on
him yourself, and he wouldn't dare to act recklessly.”
Bailey didn't respond and simply ended the call.
She was definitely going to Zaewora.
She even had a guess as to who had sent her those photos.
I have The Art of Semblance in my hands. It will undoubtedly lead me to Zaewora, regardless of the
consequences.
And what else in this world could attract me more than Artemis' past affairs?
Faceless sent me those photos, intending to lure me to Zaewora and force me into her trap.
Even though Bailey knew Faceless' intentions, her trip to Zaewora was inevitable.
Meanwhile, at Starling Hotel.
Sylvester was overwhelmed by a swarm of journalists, to the point of exasperation. He ordered a few of
his subordinates to distract the paparazzi blocking the hotel's back door, and then he decided to take
Karina to a private villa in the suburbs.
In the guest room, Karina watched as the reporters below were led away by bodyguards. She knew
what Sylvester had in mind.
She did want to leave this place, but before she did, she had to carefully set a trap to deepen the
hatred between Sylvester and Rainie even further.
With that thought, she reached for her phone, found a number, and dialed it.
“Mr. Hollett will be escorting me out through the back door later. You should quickly send a few of your
trusted men disguised as reporters to intercept us at the back. After seeing me with Mr. Hollett, you
don't need to hold back. Feel free to throw mud at me, accusing me of ruining the relationship between
Sylvester and Rainie. I want to make Sylvester feel guilty, reveal the news that Rainie has already left
the Shurmer family, and use Rainie as bait to divert the attention of all the reporters.”
A respectful voice came through the phone. “Understood. I'll arrange it right away.”
With a smile on her lips, Karina ended the call.
Just as she removed the phone from her ear, the guest room door was pushed open, and Sylvester
walked in from outside.
“Karrie, now all the news media in Hallsbay know we're staying here. If we continue to stay, we won't
have any peace. We won't even be able to step out the door. I've already instructed my subordinates to
distract the reporters at the back door. We'll leave from there shortly and head to my private residence.
You should get ready now, and we'll leave in five minutes.”
A glint appeared in Karina's eyes.
Just as she had anticipated, Sylvester wanted to take her out of the hotel.
Now, she just had to wait for the real show to begin.
“Alright. I'll go tidy up now. Wait for me.”
Five minutes later, a well-dressed Sylvester and Karina left the suite, taking the elevator straight down
to the first floor.
They didn't use the main entrance. Instead, they walked through the long corridor to reach the back
side door.
However, they were still caught without escape.
The camera flashes were continuously flickering, and the two of them were surrounded by journalists to
the point where they could hardly move.
"Ms. Smith, it has been alleged that you are the one responsible for the breakup between Mr. Hollett
and Ms. Yeanisky, intervening as a third party and causing their separation. Is this true?"
"Ms. Smith, I heard that you and Mr. Hollett were childhood friends. You have secretly loved him for
many years, and therefore conspired against Ms. Yeanisky, damaging her reputation. Is this true?"
"Ms. Smith, Mr. Hollett and Ms. Yeanisky have just ended their relationship, and you seem eager to
take her place. Doesn't this prove that you indeed sabotaged their relationship?"
Karina's face turned pale, and she tightened her grip on Sylvester's arm. Tears welled up in her eyes as
she shook her head. "No, it's not like that. When Mr. Hollett took Ms. Yeanisky home, I willingly stepped
aside and wished them happiness."
After she finished speaking, she pitifully raised her head to look at Sylvester, her face reflecting
innocent suffering. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
She appeared truly pitiful and wronged.
Sylvester recalled the time when he introduced Rainie to the Hollett family. Karina, in order to make
Rainie feel comfortable, had deliberately made her position clear to relatives and friends,
accommodating their actions. His heart gradually softened.
If these people's suspicions are not dispelled, they will continue to bother Karrie, damaging her
reputation.
She is innocent. Indeed, she stepped back at that time, no longer involving me in her life.
If it weren't for Rainie's involvement with Mason, they wouldn't be in this predicament.
"All of this has nothing to do with Karina. Stop recklessly spouting nonsense."
