Chapter 7 Inhibition of Poison
“Stupid girl.” Lifting her chin, Kevin sneered, “are you playing with me? First you forgot what happened a month ago. Now you are pretending to be pregnant. Fine! I will let you know the consequences of lying to me…”
A kiss fell on her red lips.
Melody instinctively resisted, “No, no…”
“Too late! You started it!”
The domineering words fell and Kevin was no longer polite to her.
Melody refused in horror, but there was nothing she could do.
She didn’t like the feeling, but was forced to bear it.
Melody fainted.
…
“Donald, why won’t this woman emit the fragrance of that night this time? Are you a quack? Can this woman cure my disease?”
In the laboratory, Kevin sat on the couch with his legs crossed arrogantly, half squinting, staring at the man doing the experiment in front of him.
“Sir, please don’t question my professional ability. Over these years, it has been very difficult to find a person who can inhibit the wolf poison in your body. It can’t be wrong.” Donald was wearing a white coat with gloves, and was doing experiments.
“But this woman doesn’t seem to remember what happened a month ago. Is she lying or did we pick the wrong person?”
Melody’s denial made Kevin begin to question himself.
Donald stopped his work and looked back at him in surprise. “Sir, are you doubting yourself?”Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
“Of course not!” Kevin rolled his eyes towards Donald. “It’s just that I didn’t see her clearly that night. I could only remember the smell. And she just gave me the feeling that she might not be the right girl.”
Donald took off his gloves and brought a machine. “Then I’ll test you and see how the wolf poison in your body goes.”
Kevin did not refuse and stretched out his arm.
Ten minutes later, Donald looked at the monitor with a sad look and sighed repeatedly.
“It can’t be wrong!”
“What are you whispering about? What’s going on?” Kevin was still in doubt.
Donald said truthfully: “Sir, the report shows that the wolf poison in your body has not been suppressed, but has increased instead.”
“What!” Kevin suddenly stood up from the couch, pulling the electrical wires of the machine. He got rid of them irritably and threw them on the ground. “What kind of job have you done? You can’t even find a woman!”
Donald looked heartily at the electrical wires that he had built and chimed in with a dry smile: “Sir, we have checked it over and over again. It must be this woman, just…”
“Just don’t know why it works for the first time, but it won’t work now, am I right?” Kevin gave him an angry glance.
Trembling with fear, Donald nodded. When the Duke became angry, it was more terrible than a facing wolf.
“Perhaps only virgins would work?” said Donald tentatively.
“I didn’t invite you here to say this nonsense!” Kevin shouted furiously, “Since you said this woman was the right one, I will give you another three days to find out the reason. Otherwise, I will blow up your laboratory!”
Outraged, Kevin left the laboratory. The floor was shaking with the sound of Kevin slamming the door.
Donald wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed helplessly. He got paid to solve Kevin’s problem. As a vet who had achieved doctor’s degree, Donald was having a hard time.
