Chapter 68
Chapter 68
She looked polite yet distant, as if she was drawing a clear line between them, prompting a smile from
Sebastian
His expression was disdainful, tinged with ridicule, in stark contrast to the tenderness he had just
displayed.
“Do you believe I’m doing this for you?”
He grabbed her cheek with one hand and swung it left and right. “What do you think you look like? Is
this really worthy of
me?”
Scarlett furrowed her brow and queried in bewilderment, “But why did you…”
“The person you’re seeing now is going to be the Jackman family’s son-in-law in the future. I’m just
asking you to break it off with him.”
Was Dey the future son-in-law of the Jackman family?
So it was like this.
Scarlett’s doubt was completely erased.
She had just sensed that something was amiss with Sebastian, which was why he had bewitched her-it
turned out he wanted her to abandon Dev.
Rather than flying into a rage out of humiliation, she relaxed upon hearing this.
She was afraid that Sebastian had other feelings for her, and she couldn’t bear the thought of it, so she
didn’t dare to accept
it
This was good.
“Since Mr. Gatsby is to be a part of the Jackman family, I won’t be tempting him,” she said, her gaze icy
and her lips curving into a smirk.
Sebastian’s tightly knitted brows slightly relaxed.
After a moment of quiet, he uttered icily, “Keep your distance from Dev.”
Scarlett nodded obediently, not needing his reminder to stay away from Dev. She still wanted to live
well for a while.
Sebastian said nothing more, his expression shifting from gloomy to cold and distant.
Scarlett saw that he had finished the warning mission and he no longer seemed to want to stay with
her.
She quickly mustered her courage and said, “Mr. Jackman, could you kindly send me back? I’m scared
of this wild terrain.” Without even glancing at her, Sebastian started the car and drove her back to the
hotel garage at a rapid pace.
Upon witnessing him send her back, Scarlett felt a bit of gratitude. ‘Much appreciated.”
After thanking him, she quickly pressed the car lock and attempted to open the door to get out, only to
find that it was still locked.
She glanced at Sebastian and quietly inquired, “Mr. Jackman, would you be able to open the door?”
Sebastian remained silent. He withdrew a slim cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and brought it to his lips,
taking a delicate drag.
Scarlett recalled that he had not smoked prior. After not seeing him for over a fortnight, how had he
become hooked on smoking?
Furthermore, he appeared to be somewhat thinner, and his eyes had a slight green tinge, as if he had
not been sleeping well. Has something unfortunate occurred to him recently?
Scarlett secretly glanced at him, and he abruptly spun his head to meet her
gaze.
“Who is Liam?”
Scarlett was taken aback when she realized that Sebastian was acquainted with Liam.
“You kept calling this name in your sleep many times.”
He emphasized the last three words, as if having long been dissatisfied with this.
He had previously looked into this person, and it seemed as if they had been wiped from existence.
With no leads to go on, he was too apathetic to pursue it further.
He now wanted to know who Liam was, making it difficult for her to let go of him in her sleep.
Scarlett was surprised to find she had uttered Liam’s name in her slumber.
She suddenly recalled that when she had just signed the lover agreement, Sebastian would still sleep
with her once he had
finished it.
Not long after, he stopped accompanying her. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
She had thought that Sebastian disliked her at that time.
It turned out that she had called out Liam’s name in her sleep, and that was why he had left upon
completion.
Scarlett was taken aback when she found out that Sebastian had mental mysophobia.
He was aware that she had another in her heart, yet he still endured her for five years.
For so long, how uncasy did he feel when he was in her presence?
