Chapter 166

Yan was stunned, as if suddenly coming back to his senses. His eyes quickly cleared of the blurred

emotions, replaced by disgust

“Im not your brother!”

Pushing Lanny away, he stepped back and looked at her with hatred in his eyes.

“Your brother is that scoundrel. I don’t have any relationship with you!”

Lanny, used to the sight of his overflowing hatred, had no reaction

Yan’s disgust was only heightened by her serenity. He stepped forward, seized her puffy face, and

ground his teeth as he declared, “Lanny, if you’re so eager to learn from that scoundrel and follow

Sebastian, then let’s keep playing our childhood game from now on…”

Lanny’s bones trembled upon hearing that he wanted to continue the game of childhood, yet she

stubbornly displayed a look that refused to concede defeat.

Yan raised hus hand and slapped her. “If you give me that look again, don’t be surprised if I find

someone to hurt you!”

The man’s strength was far superior to the woman’s, causing Lanny’s blood to instantly flow from the

corner of her mouth.

Without a sound, she turned her head and gently touched her swollen cheek.

She knew how to resist, but the punishment for doing so would be more painful than the coming of age

ceremony itself. She dropped her gaze, glanced at her feet, and murmured. “It’s alright if you find

someone to lay hands on me again. I’ve already had my uterus taken out…”

Yan took a deep breath, suppressing the complicated emotions that flashed through his mind.

“You deserve it! Who asked you to get pregnant with that dog and refuse to abort it

Lanny quirked the corner of her mouth and smiled sadly. “You know my uterus is fragile. If you

terminate the pregnancy, it could cost me my life….

However, Yan scoffed, “Isn’t it good to die?!”

Lanny, upon hearing this again, showed no reaction; it was as if she had heard too much and had

become numb.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t forget the memory of Yan performing an abortion and a

crudely done suturing job on her.

Although she managed to save her life, she had been infected and could only survive by having her

uterus removed.

His silence made Yan inexplicably irritated. “Why aren’t you speaking up? Don’t you usually love to

challenge me?”

Lanny’s eyes were devoid of emotion, as if she had already let go of her past grievances, something

that Yan found unforgivable

“Since you have nothing to say, then wait and observe. I will inform you of the consequences should

you betray the Baber family!”

He uttered these words, spun around, and flung open the door to exit.

Lanny’s beautiful eyes held a trace of indifference as she watched his back.

She wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, then pulled the chair from behind the desk and

settled on it.

Despite being beaten to the point of bleeding, she remained arrogantly aloof, as if nothing had

occurred.

When Scarlett entered, she found Lanny with an expressionless face, her demeanor cold yet stoic, as if

she had been trained to bear anything

When she first laid eyes on Yan emerging, her face was full of resentment, in stark contrast to the

cheerful demeanour she had seen last time. It was clear that the two had a deep-seated animosity.

Scarlett, being tactful, refrained from asking what their relationship was and instead took out the

medicine to relieve swelling and pain and handed it to her.

“Dr. Richard, please hurry and apply it. You look so beautiful, it’s such a pity if it left a scar.”

Scarlett felt a pang of sorrow in her heart upon seeing the wound on Lanny’s face, feeling as though

Lanny was enduring beating in her sterad.

“Thank you”

Lanny applied the medicine to her face, glancing at Scarlett who was trying to appear unaffected. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Do you know Yan

She and Dev had a close relationship, and Yan was Dev’s good friend, so they must have known each

other.

Scarlett nodded in acknowledgement, respecting Lanny’s privacy and refraining from asking any further

questions.

However, Lanny felt that it was nothing She declared, “He is my brother, though not by blood. I lived in

his house for a der ade and referred to him as my brother, along with my cousin. But I still have a

strong resentment towards him”
