Seed of Possession

All of the people sit properly as they put the napkin down on their lap. Perol looks at all his relatives in one long table. He looks at everyone’s face to make sure that there is no uninvited guest at the family table. After making sure that there’s only invited guests. He raised his right hand as a sign that the servant’s could serve the appetizers.

The servant’s immediately got all the appetizers and brought it towards the table and gently put it down in front of the people. The appetizer that the waiter serves is Beef Spiedini, an Italian dish.

Giselle looks at the unfamiliar appetizer in front of her. ” What is this?” Giselle whispered to Xander.

Xander immediately looks at Giselle and smiles. ” That is Beef Spiedini, an Italian dish. The meat is sliced thin, rolled around your fillings, dredged in bread crumbs and cheese, and then baked or grilled. Try it, It’s delicious” Xander answered.

Giselle looked back at the Appetizer and had a taste of it. Giselle slowly chews the beef spiedini, The taste is new and she is not used to it. But she doesn’t hate it or like it.

Chantal notices how Giselle eats the appetizer and a small evil smirk forms into her lips. ” Did you know Giselle, That this dish is the favourite appetizer of Monteverde’s cousin’s?” Chantal suddenly said that paid all attention to her.

” Yes, This is our favourite since we were children,” One of the cousins said. Giselle just nodded her head as she showed a sweet smile.

” Really, That’s good to know” Giselle answered as she took a sip of her water.

” Did Xander not tell you? I thought he told you because the wife should know her husband’s favorite and preference, ” Chantal muttered. Giselle calmly looks at Chantal as she puts down her glass of water.

” Xander and I are just a newly wedded couple. There are still some things I didn’t know about him. And the same goes for me. But it’s okay, We have a lifetime to know each other” Giselle answered as she showed her ingenuine smile.

” You’re right, Even long married couple doesn’t know each other very well. Right, Auntie Davina?” Chantal said as she looked at Davina who is now wiping her mouth with napkin.

” Hmmm” Davina looked at Chantal and smiled.

” Well, There still things that I didn’t know from my husband. It’s still magnificent to know him better everyday in our life” Davina sweetly answered as she looked at her older sister Juvenile.

” What are your thoughts about it sister?” Davina enthusiastically ask. Juveline look at her youngest sister before she answered.

” Well, Same to me. There’s some things that I didn’t know about my husband. I think even if we are married there is some matters that should keep private ” Juveline bluntly said as she secretly glance at Giselle who is now eating peacefully.

” Speaking of knowing, May we know how you and Xander met?” Juveline suddenly ask that get the attention of Giselle.

Xander glances at Giselle, he is watching what her woman will do and answer. Before the day of Family dinner came. Xander sends questions and answers that Giselle should say if one of his family asks a question. Giselle calmly wipes her mouth and looks at Juveline.

” In Club” Giselle answered as she put down the napkin.

” Club? Xander going to a club? I can’t believe this” Lorenzo grinningly said as he had a sip of his wine.

” Well, It’s true. We meet in club and then we know each other very well in bed”

Everyone stopped chewing when they heard the last word of Giselle. Even Perol flustered on what he heard.

” Xander is not that kind of man. Are you making up your stories?” Chantal asks as she chuckles.

” Well, I think I learned a different side of him that you all didn’t know” Giselle seductively said, which made Xander cough out of embarrassment. He didn’t write what she said. Giselle literally didn’t follow the script that he gave to him.

” What are you saying?” Xander simply whispered to Giselle.

In one moment the plate was changed into soup. Giselle gets the spoon as she scoop the soup and test the texture.

” That is Buddha jumps over the wall” Xander whispered, which made Giselle nod while checking the ingredients of the soup.

The Buddha jumps over the wall is the most expensive soup in the world. It contains shark’s pin, abalone, Japanese flower mushroom, sea cucumber, dried scallops, chicken, huan ham, pork and ginseng. But Giselle didn’t know it because this is the first time she encountered this kind of soup.

Giselle just shook her shoulder as she took a sip and bite of the soup. She raised her eyebrows as soon as she tasted the soup. It’s delicious and it feels warm for her. But she instantly feels that this soup is expensive.

All the people at the dinner table sat up straight except Giselle when they heard Perol cough. Because it’s a signal that he will ask something in one of the family members.

” Xander, When did your wedding happen?” Perol asked.

” Last 2 months” Xander coldly answered that it gives shivers to everyone except Lorenzo and Giselle in the Banquette.

” Then Giselle, What do you like about my Grandson? Why did you marry him? And how long did you known each other?” Perol question after a question. Perol immediately transfers the conversation to Giselle because he can’t really bear the cold wind everytime Xander speaks.

Giselle put down her spoon as she looked at Perol and smiled sweetly. Perol instantly felt embarrassed again. He feels like he is back to his teen-age years in front of his first crush.

” Xander and I have known each other for 7 months ” Giselle lied as she held Xander hand and caressed it with her thumb.

The Banquette immediately full of gasp and murmured because of what Giselle said.

” That was quick,” Chantal said that makes Giselle chuckle.

” I fell in love with this guy, His jokes, His sweet talks and His sweet actions towards me” Giselle sweetly said like an inlove woman with her husband.

” He really takes care of me. He never let me do things on my own. He didn’t let me work, He said that he wants me to be his side. How sweet, right? I know it sounds like he is a possessive or obsessive husband but he is not. He still gives me freedom to have a choice and make my own decision in things. Right Bunny bear?”

Lorenzo immediately coughs when he hears the endearment of Giselle to Xander. He immediately covers his mouth to prevent himself from laughing. Lorenzo glance to Perol and same to his situation Perol is preventing himself to burst in laughing.

” B-bunny Bear?” Chantal said out of disbelief that made Giselle grinned and excitedly nodded her head.

” Yes, Bunny Bear. Xander came up with that endearment. At first I didn’t like it but after a long time I got used to it. And we love it, Right Bunny bear?” Giselle said as she looked at Xander who now wanted to vanish in the Banquette.

Xander didn’t know what Giselle was saying. Especially, to the endearment that she just came up with. He is now totally embarrassed.

” Back up me up, The woman at the right side of your Grandfather is suspicious of us. ” Giselle simply whispered as she looked back at Chantal.

” How about you? What is the endearment of your husband for you?” Giselle asks. Chantal immediately gets her glass of water and takes a sip to ease her frustration that she is feeling right now.

” Well, me and my husband are on a first name basis. Because it feels like we are in the courting stage when we are using our names to call each other dearly” Chantal answered that makes Giselle giggle.

” That’s too sweet, I hope I can learn more from you. After all, having a strong marriage is something that a woman like me should be jealous” Giselle meaningfully said as she seductively showed a sly smile.

Chantal smiled when she immediately saw what Giselle was pointing at. She chuckles as she realized that Giselle immediately notice what she is trying to do with her.

” What a silky snake” Chantal murmured as she showed a fake smile to Giselle.

At this moment the war between this woman will start. Because there should not be two queens running the castle.

After that conversation the family continued to eat peacefully. After the soup the main course is being served in front of them. The steak is served in front of them. Giselle, Left a sigh out of relief because finally she will have a dish that she is familiar with.

” Thank God ” She murmured as she started to eat the steak. As soon as she had a bite of steak her eyes became hidden and her cheeks became red because of the peculiar taste of the steak. This is the first time to taste a steak that completely melted in the mouth without chewing it.

” Is it possible?” Giselle asks herself as she takes another bite of the steak.

” Do you like it?” Xander muttered.

” Yes, It’s delicious” Giselle answered as she looked at him.

” I’m glad you like it,” Xander answered with a smile. Giselle just smiled back as she continued to eat.

Lorenzo is now watching Xander, He can’t believe that his ice cousin is doting husband with his wife. He knows to himself that this is just one of the shows of Xander to show to them that he is capable of running to the next heir of the family. Lorenzo just smirks because of what running in his head. He knows right now that Xander has a weapon to fight against him.

” Too bad, I know his weakness” Lorenzo mumbled as he sip his red wine.

Chantal secretly glanced at her husband Lorenzo. She knows what’s running to his head and she is willing to follow all of the commands that will be given to her. Because she also wants to be a wife of the Head of the household.

As soon as the Head puts down its knife, There is only one meaning of it. The family conversation will begin. This is the one of the opportunities that the relatives are eyeing for. To have a conversation with the Head of the family. To get his interest with them.

The conversation will cover the topic of their families standing, their children’s accomplishments and the most important part is the business. Because it’s the time to see if the business that the head gave to you is blossoming in your head. Because if it’s not the head will hastily snatch it in your hand. There is only one rule in the conversation in the family dinner. Don’t ever tell a lie towards the business because the Head has all the connections and power to know the truth in just a snap of his finger.

Xander immediately wiped his mouth as he coldly looked at his Grandfather. Lorenzo immediately put a smug face on his face because he knows that he will get the most attention from his Grandfather because the business that put under his care is booming right now internationally.

Giselle smirks when she sees all the people in the banquette become stiff.
