Chapter 1170
The dining table was filled with dishes, all of Skylar’s favorites. It was the first time in three years that the family sat together for a meal.
“This is so delicious! Steven, Charles, and Harvey, your cooking skills have really improved, and Mom’s dishes are just as amazing as ever,” skylar said, hardly able to pause between bites.
In Murida, having maids made it easy to get any type of Flaon cuisine she wanted, but it still lacked the flavor of home. Over the past three years, everyone around her had gone through so much, and they all stayed connected through video calls every day.
However, nothing compared to being together in person. Janine couldn’t help but feel heartbroken as she noticed that Skylar had lost quite a bit of weight since three years ago.
“Eat more,” she urged.
“Okay,” Skylar obediently piled her plate with another serving of mashed potatoes.
In total, she consumed three servings, feeling stuffed to the brim.
After the meal, the family sat together and chatted, enjoying each other’s company until night
fell.
Eventually, Charles drove her back to Galaxy Villa. After a gap of three and a half years, she stood in front of the villa and paused momentarily at the entrance. NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
Everywhere she looked, she saw remnants of her life with Joe. Everything remained exactly as it had been three years ago–clean and tidy.
If it hadn’t been for all that had transpired during those years, she might have felt as if
nothing had changed.
It was as if she had returned to three years ago–to a time when Joe was still by her side.
Skylar quickly shook off the thoughts that dragged her back into the past and speculation. She walked directly inside and headed upstairs.
She had just lay down in bed after showering, when Gloria’s international call came through.
“Edgar mentioned you’ll be staying at Galaxy Villa while you’re in Jipsburg. Please be careful since you’ll be alone, and don’t forget to activate the security systèm at the house,” Gloria said
with concern in her voice.
Listening to Gloria’s voice brought Skylar comfort. She smiled as she replied, “During my time away, please take care of yourself, Grandma. Be sure to follow the doctor’s advice and take your medicine on time.”
“Alright, alright. We’ll both take care of ourselves. Focus on your own matters, and if anything comes up, just reach out to Alexander and George for help.”
“Okay, Grandma.” Once they both reassured each other of their well–being, they ended the
call.
Initially, she wasn’t tired. But as she lay in bed, she unknowingly drifted off to sleep. In a half- dream state, she seemed to see that familiar mist again.
She raised her hand to disperse the fog.
Amidst the chaos, a figure seemed to materialize. When she recognized that familiar silhouette, her heart jolted.
“Joe…” she called out as she hurried toward him.
As she approached, she hoped to see if it was truly Joe. To her surprise, he turned to look at her.
His features were all too familiar. It was Joe, it was him.
But for some reason, when he looked at her, it felt as though he was gazing at a stranger. His
eyes
held no emotion.
It was as if he could hear her calling him. He kept staring at her,
