After ending the call with Charles, Skylar turned to find Joe watching her.

"Finn is coming back to Jipsburg. He wants to bother Mom again," Skylar said, furrowing her brow.

She didn't have many memories of Finn. When she was younger, Steven had told her bits and pieces about him. Back then, she'd imagined Finn as a good father who had simply been lost to an accident. But now, knowing the truth, she saw him for what he was-selfish. It was clear Finn had no intention of letting Janine live in peace.

Joe's gaze darkened. "There's no need to worry about someone like that. He won't be coming back."

Skylar raised an eyebrow. "Won't be coming back?"

Joe nodded firmly. "Your mom is my family too. If someone wants to ruin her happiness, they'll have to go through me first. I let him slip away a few months ago, but this time, I won't. Don't worry I won't let things get out of hand, especially since he's still Steven's and the others' biological father.

Skylar understood immediately, and a sense of relief washed over her. She looked at Joe, her eyes shining with gratitude.
