Chapter 692 Grandma, Enjoy the Rest of Your Life
Most of the ladies present at the party had once benefited from Sophia. So to speak, Sophia had
helped them get rid of bad women. Còntens bel0ngs to Nô(v)elDr/a/ma.Org
Their husbands could say no to others, but they didn't have the guts to do so in front of Sophia, whose
husband was Drake, a big shot of the time. So, they could only keep themselves in line. As a result, the
ladies started to respect and worship Sophia.
After the crowd left, Abbott said in anger, "Cathy has gone too far! We must do something! She's made
a fuss at home but also created a scene in the party. That was too much! Doesn't she have any sense
of shame?"
Drake touched his nose, "Somehow, in terms of temper, Cathy is very much alike Grandma."
He had drawn everyone's attention by saying that. Moreover, Emma had glared at him, as if she was
blaming him for having said something wrong.
"Yep. I agree with Drake. But Cathy is much more difficult to deal with. My mother is very old but she's
reasonable, but Cathy..." said Abbott, who found it hard to put it.
"She must learn a lesson, otherwise, she would never realize her mistakes." said Emma.
Great mind think alike. Sophia had proved herself to be one of Emma's best students. That was why
she agreed to give Cathy five hundred million dollars to make her leave.
Chloe told the crowd dinner was ready, and they forgot about Cathy for the time.
After the party, Sophia apologized, "I'm sorry, Chloe. Cathy has caused you trouble today."
"Don't be, dear. I know Cathy too well. It's OK. I don't mind it." Chloe smiled and said.
"Thanks. I wouldn't have felt so guilty if it has happened in the Thomas family. But I'm afraid it'll
embarrass the Duncan family."
Mrs. Duncan came over, "Same here in the Duncan family. We're like a big family. Sophia, please don't
take me as an outsider, OK?"
Hearing it, Sophia sighed with relief.
Abbott got a call from hospital right after they left the party. The old Mrs. Lawson had passed out again.
The bad news was getting on everyone's nerves. Actually, the old Mrs. Lawson would leave hospital
the next day. Why would it happen all of a sudden?
They made it to the hospital and saw the doctor come out of the ward, "Fortunately, the old Mrs.
Lawson has been well cared. Her health condition is stable now. But please make sure she won't get
agitated and fall sick again. I can't be sure we'll be so lucky next time."
"Get agitated again? What's happened?" Sophia asked out of confusion.
The nursing worker came out, "Miss Sophia, it was Miss Cathy. She came and told the old Mrs. Lawson
that Miss Helena was pregnant, but Master Travis was divorcing her and pushing her to do the
abortion. It's a lot for the old Mrs. Lawson and she passed out."
Sophia flied into rage! She could go easy on Cathy on everything, but she couldn't stand it when she
talked nonsense in front of the old Mrs. Lawson.
Soon afterwards, the old Mrs. Lawson woke up. Travis and Helena came in to see her first, and Travis
was holding Helena in his arms.
The old Mrs. Lawson saw it and asked, "Are you not getting a divorce?"
Helena stepped forward, "Grandma, did Cathy tell you we were getting a divorce? How could you
believe her? She's lying! Travis and I are childhood sweethearts. We've been through a lot and finally
got married. We won't break up."
The old Mrs. Lawson widened her eyes surprisingly, "Did you lie to me because I'm old and sick?"
"No, I didn't. Grandma, I'm pregnant. It's twins. We all hope you can get better soon and we want you
to give the babies names after they are born."
The old Mrs. Lawson doubted it and looked towards Travis, and the latter nodded his head.
"Oh, you're telling the truth. So, Cathy has lied to me?"
"She has lied to us all a lot, not only you. You should have figured out what kind of person she is long
ago." said Helena helplessly.
"But Sophia is the one who is full of it, isn't she? How come it's Cathy now?" asked the old Mrs.
Lawson confusingly.
"Grandma!" said Helena earnestly, "Think carefully. Cathy always bad-mouthed Sophia in front of you,
didn't she? But have you ever really got to know Sophia by yourself?"
"You've spent some time with Sophia. Is she the same person as you heard from Cathy's mouth?"
The old Mrs. Lawson began to think hard. Old memories came crossed her mind again.
She couldn't be more upset and regretted, "I used to think William is sweet and knows me well. So, I
was partial to him. 'Love me love my dog'. And I favored Cathy among my grandchildren. But I've never
imagined it would ruin Cathy. "
"Now she's rotten to the core. I must take the blame, too. Helena, I feel so bad for having spoiled and
ruined Cathy! I felt worse for having ignored and misunderstood Sophia. Lord! I... I'm just a terrible
grandmother!"
Everyone would be enlightened some day. And it was something to have figured it out.
"It's great that you've figured things out. Don't worry about Sophia. She won't blame you. But we must
do something to help Cathy, otherwise, she would get herself into big trouble."
"How can I help?" the old Mrs. Lawson said anxiously.
Helena noticed the old Mrs. Lawson had finally realized her mistakes and added, "I'll tell you what to do
if you trust me."
"Of course I trust you!" said the old Mrs. Lawson in no time.
"Fine. The first thing I want you to do is stay out of the young people's business from now on. Let them
handle it on their own. You just enjoy the rest of your life."
"OK. Got it." the old Mrs. Lawson nodded.
"Second, don't compromise no matter how hard Cathy has begged or pestered you. So is with William."
"I..." the old Mrs. Lawson hesitated.
"Hmm?" said Helena.
The old Mrs. Lawson nodded again, "OK. I'll do as you said."
"Third, trust Sophia in everything. She's committed to the family. You might not understand why she's
done those things to Cathy, but she just wants to help her and get her back in track."
"OK. Got it."
Helena had told her a lot of other things, and the old Mrs. Lawson kept nodding, indicating she could do
it.
Helena spoke right before she left, "I think Grandma has really figured it out this time. Sophia, go all out
for it!"
"Good for you, Helena! You've nailed it. We've tried but couldn't convince her!"
"I'm flattered. Sophia, you've done a lot and you should take the credit. I didn't do much to help but just
said a few words at the right time. You deserve all the compliments." said Helena.
