Chapter 1251
The next morning, Sophie was jolted awake by Sandy shaking her.
"Sophie! Wake up! Come on, get up!" Sandy threatened to pull off Sophie's blankets.
Sophie had stayed up all night reading the materials Gordon had given her and was still groggy. She pulled the blanket over her head and moaned, "For the love of all things holy, what do you want so early?"
"We need to pick out gowns! There's this amazing boutique in Devonport," Sandy rattled on.
Sophie couldn't understand a word Sandy was saying, nor did she care to. All she wanted was more sleep.
"Colby! Get her out of here!" Sophie called out.
Outside the door, Colby knocked and said in a frosty tone, "Please leave, or I'll have to make you."
Colby had just prepared breakfast for Sophie. Sandy, visibly upset, shot back, "I'm doing this for you! I even reached out to my dad to help! And this is the thanks I get? Fine, I'll go by myself tonight. I won't take you with me!"
With that, Sandy stormed towards the door. Sophie, defeated by Sandy's persistence, sighed and sat up, "Alright, alright, I'll go with you! Happy now?"
"That's more like it!" Sandy nodded, satisfied. "I'll wait outside. Hurry up!"
Humming a little tune, Sandy bounced out of the room. Sophie rubbed her forehead, and Colby offered, "If you really don't want to go, I can send her away."
"No," Sophie replied, "This girl can do anything she sets her mind to. Remember when Vanessa casually mentioned she got dumped, and Sandy rode all the way to Devonport to hassle me? Besides, it's been ages since I went shopping. Let's just go this once." Seeing Sophie struggling to get up, Colby swooped in and lifted her from the bed, "Let me help you wash up."
"Okay!" Sophie agreed without a second thought.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Downstairs, Jenna was at her wits' end. Spotting Sophie, she pleaded, "Sophie! Please handle her!"
"Me? I can't control her. I have to go along with whatever she wants," Sophie said, descending the stairs.
Jenna gritted her teeth, "You wanted to go shopping and dragged Sophie into it. Why call me?"
"It's more fun with three people! Besides you two, is there even another woman in this house?" Sandy was sitting on the couch, detailing, "I've planned our day. We'll start with a beauty treatment, then get our hair done. In the afternoon, wett pick out dresses and have a makeup artist get us ready. By evening, we'll be stunning for the dinner!"
Jenna retorted, "You've really thought this through. Just one day and you've scheduled it all?"
"If it weren't for tonight's event, I'd even go for a spa," Sandy shrugged. "This is just our normal routine. Aren't you supposed to be the 'it
girls' of Devonport? What have you been living on, bread and water?"

Hearing this, Jenna shot back, "We've been trained in business from a young age, not living some princess life every day! If you're looking for someone who shares your interests, try a nightclub. You'll find plenty."
"You!"
Just as Sandy was about to argue with Jenna, Sophie, overwhelmed by their bickering, intervened, "Alright, alright, let's just go, okay? It'll be a nice break." With that, Sophie stood up and called out to the people outside, "Come on in, everyone."
