Chapter 244 Going Insane

Nathan rushed to the police station after receiving the call. When Rowane noticed Nathan's initial

tender expression had turned hard, she felt incredibly guilty. She had never dreamed that the person

she loved would be the same Nathan who had been Irene's guardian for the past nine years. Why was

it that the person she liked always had something to do with Irene? First, it had been Edric. Now, it was

Nathan.

She was pregnant with Nathan's child now. As Nathan despised her, Rowane did not want Nathan to

misunderstand her any further. The moment she saw Nathan, she told Nathan everything that had

happened to her.

Nathan had heard from Jordan that Rowane was a woman with an evil heart. So, he had begun to

loathe her. Now, he knew that she had been deceived by Marie, and his hatred towards

Rowane naturally dissipated. Hence, Nathan decided to bring Rowane back to Haverland.

When Edric heard that Nathan was bringing Rowane back to Haverland, he went to look for Irene. He

told Irene that Marie had sent an assassin to kill Rowane, which resulted in her losing her memories,

but she was eventually saved by Nathan.

Irene was not a fool. After listening to what Eric told her, she instantly knew that the woman with whom

Nathan had an affair with was Rowane. Her face darkened and thus she had a bad impression of

Rowane.

She was a nice person, but she had chosen to be Edric's lover. Although she had only been acting as a

lover, she had done something indecent. Moreover, she felt even irritated upon knowing that Rowane

had confidently confronted her about Edric's matter.

In the end, Edric had fallen into Rowane's trap. If it was not for Lily having her period at that time, Edric

would definitely have had an affair with Lily. How could such a disgusting woman ended up in Nathan's

bed? More importantly, Rowane was bearing Nathan's child. Irene could not believe that Rowane had

lost her memories. She suspected that Rowane was only pretending to do so hence she could not

allow such a woman like Rowane to harm Nathan. She had to tell Nathan everything.

Edric knew Irene was not at peace. He told Irene, "Irene, I have yet to tell you one more thing. Rowane

might be your stepsister from another mother."

"How is that possible?" Irene exclaimed in surprise.

Edric told Irene everything that Simon had shared with him. Irene did not expect that things had turned

out back then. If Rowane was indeed the daughter to both Steven and Marie, then this matter would be

complicated.

Rowane followed Nathan back to Haverland and immediately went to speak to Irene. She apologized

and begged Irene for forgiveness. Since Irene was kind-hearted in nature, the hatred in her vanished

because she understood that Rowane's wrongdoings had been because she had no other way.

Moreover, Rowane had even gone to her sincerely to beg for her forgiveness.

Upon seeing Rowane's facial features which were similar to hers, Irene realized that she

might indeed be her stepsister. At that instant, her heart softened even further, and she forgave

Rowane.

Steven only had a few more days to live. If Rowane was indeed the daughter of Steven and Marie,

Steven had to know about it before he passed away.

Irene requested Edric to perform a paternity test for Rowane and Steven. The results soon revealed

that Rowane was indeed Steven's daughter.

Rowane was delighted to know that she was Irene's stepsister. She finally found a family member.

However, the next big problem arose. Suppose Marie, her own mother, had planned Irene's mother's

death. Did that mean Irene would not acknowledge her as her stepsister due to the resentment she

Marie had let Irene and her mother down too much, and she had done a few unforgivable things

towards Irene. She was the reason why Edric and Irene got separated in the beginning. Now that Irene

and Nathan planned to get together, she was pregnant with Nathan's child instead. She had once again

become a stumbling block for Irene.

Rowane admired Nathan a lot and was willing to have Nathan's children. Since Irene had given birth to

two children for Edric and he loved Irene deeply, she hoped that Irene and Edric would get together

again. Then, her dream to be with Nathan could be fulfilled. However, she realized she was being too

selfish after thinking about it.

Nathan's lover was not her. It would be unreasonable for her to use the child to make Nathan stay by

her side. Nathan had loved Irene for many years, so she should give him a chance to fulfill his dreams.

Irene felt a mess of emotions at the same time. If Rowane was not related to her by blood, she could

still accept that she had had an affair with Nathan. However, Rowane was her stepsister. No matter if

they had been being set up or not, she could not get over that very real truth.

For the past few days, Irene could tell that Rowane loved Nathan quite a lot. She often looked at

Nathan was not feeling any better either. He had been hoping that Irene could forgive him. However,

after he knew that Rowane was Irene's stepsister, Nathan was certain that he could no longer stay

beside Irene anymore.

Nathan felt excruciatingly heartbroken. He had thought that his love for Irene could bloom, but he did

herself. She felt a mix of emotions as she stood in the hospital hall. She repeatedly mumbled to herself

Finally, she mustered up the courage to enter the gynecology department. After understanding that she

wanted to remove the child, the doctor gave her instructions before requesting her to pay the fees.

Rowane was stunned to witness Marie falling down the stairs. Although she hated Marie, Marie was

still her mother. Rowane was a kind-hearted person, so she was worried if Marie got injured. She

hurried down to see if Marie was okay.

Marie was drenched in blood due to the fall. Rowane felt extremely sorry upon seeing her in a state like

glances and understood what Rowane's intentions were. They immediately rushed to the hospital.

None of them spoke a word on their way there. Irene was not a cruel person, and Rowane was her

stepsister. How could she bear to let her get rid of the baby? Naturally, Edric did not wish for Rowane to

get rid of the child either and really hoped that the child could be born. That way, he could have a

chance to get back with Irene.

Nathan felt a mess of emotions too. He did not hate Rowane. He felt solemn to see that such a young

girl like her had to undergo such a painful experience.

Rowane was innocent. She should not have suffered such pain.

The three rushed to the hospital and then to the operating room. When they failed to see Rowane in

the operating room, they immediately asked the doctor what had happened. Fortunately, the doctor

said that he had not performed any surgery on such a person, and they all heaved a sigh of relief.

Three of them searched the hospital separately. In the end, they found Rowane outside of Marie's

her cheeks. Irene whined, "Why didn't you tell us your whereabouts and just left without a word? And

why are you here? You've freaked all of us out!"

Rowane could not hold it in any longer after listening to Irene's complaints. Although Irene was whining,

she could sense the concern and worry Irene held for her. It was the first time for Rowane to feel

affection from her loved ones. She threw herself at Irene and hugged her. She cried out loud, saying,
