Returning from the Dead: His Secret Lover

Chapter 1509

Chapter 1509

Chapter 1509 Destined To Be

Violet observed Tillie closely while casting a question toward Alice.

Alice, who was watching drama, cast a glance at Tillie.

“Well. That’s the best she could do, I guess.”

The color drained from Tillie’s face as she heard those insulting words.

At that instance, she really felt like disappearing from that house.

After making supper, Tillie went back to her room and sat decadently in front of the dressing table. She stared into the mirror for a long while. Then, she stood up and walked toward her wardrobe, taking out some clothes.

The last thing she wanted was to become crazy in such a place.

Right then, a car drove into the compound of the house.

Beep!

“Who’s that? It’s Edmund! Mom, hurry up and finish up your food! Let’s go back to our room!”

Those women downstairs panicked upon hearing the sound of the car outside.

Tillie was stunned momentarily.

Is he really back?

At that moment, she felt like her heart started beating once again. All the sorrow and hatred within her heart vanished instantly. Without hesitation, she put her clothes back into her wardrobe and ran out of her room.

“E-Edmund, are you back?”

Standing on the stairs, she spotted a familiar face in the living room. Beyond delighted, she wanted to run toward him and hug him tightly.

Nonetheless, she called his name gently and walked down the stairs cautiously.

No one knew she was actually in love with him since a long time ago.

Back then, Benedict brought Edmund to attend a private party at the White family’s place. He was only fourteen years old at the time. As he was an illegitimate child, many would point fingers at him while Benedict was not around.

Yet, he did not seem to be bothered at all. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

His young and smooth face displayed an unyielding and arrogant expression, as though he was not intimidated by anyone in this world.

Since then, Tillie had a profound impression of him.

After all, she had always received criticisms from others because she did not have a pretty face nor a powerful background.

Unlike him, she did not have the courage nor the will.

Just then, Tillie approached Edmund hesitantly.

But as soon as he saw Tillie, his previous calm face displayed a sense of disgust. He did not even try to disguise his feelings.

“Why haven’t you gone to bed?”

“Oh… I’ve just come back too.”

Tillie’s heart twitched in pain when she saw the cold reaction from Edmund.

“Goodnight then.”

Edmund spat out his last sentence and went upstairs alone.

Tillie froze on the spot.

A moment later, Edmund took his stuff and came down from upstairs again. As he walked past Tillie in a hurry, Tillie asked abruptly, “Are you still going out?”

There was no response from him.

He treated her like a total stranger.

Ever since they got married, he had not been to her room for once. They barely even spoke to each other.

Tillie went back to her room with a heavy heart.

Her steps were so burdened that she felt like she took forever to walk up the stairs.

It was a sleepless night for Tillie.

As usual, the following day, she was woken up and urged to prepare breakfast.

She did not resist as she got changed and went right downstairs.

“Wait. Tillie, did he stay out again last night?”

Violet had already woken up and was putting on makeup in the living room.

Tillie’s face turned awfully pale upon hearing that.

“He is probably busy…”

“That’s unlikely. No matter how much he disliked this house, he used to come back every day. Ever since he married you, he has never spent a night here. Tillie, you should reflect upon yourself. What exactly went wrong between you two?”

Violet touched on the thing that hurt Tillie the most.

Reflect? What else could be the reason? Obviously, it’s because I’m not pretty enough for him.

Tillie went into the kitchen and opened the fridge. She took some bread and put them into the toaster.

While she was putting butter on the bread, something came to her mind.

Without hesitation, she grabbed a butter that had expired and put it on a slide of bread.

Half an hour after Violet ate the bread, she felt sick in her stomach and rushed for the restroom.

Gabriella asked concernedly, “What’s wrong? Why do you have stomachache all of a sudden?”

Alice could not wrap her head around it either. “I have no idea. She was fine just now. It couldn’t be the breakfast, could it? We’ve just eaten too, but we’re fine.”
