Rejected By My Mate

Chapter 31

Chapter 31

Never in my life that I will see myself fighting some beasts. Never in my life that I am capable of killing. I

stared coldly at the dead black hyenas in front of me. My glowing fur was stained with green blood that

came from the black hyenas. The awful smell of hyenas blood filled my nostrils. Its stomach was

whacked up--- because of my anger, I ripped it apart.

My four spirits keep saying in my head that it will be alright. But even in my angry self, I'm still feeling

guilty killing the black hyenas. Although, my heart was still aching knowing the fact that Darius could no

longer travel with us. I will miss him. I looked at Darius' dead body not far from where I am. I felt so bad

when I couldn't heal him. Sabrina also tried using her healing magic but it didn't work. It looks like the

poison being used is rare and cannot be found anywhere or in this mountain.

I groaned when my left leg suddenly ached. I have no wounds, so I know Azrael was hurting. And I am

right because the hyenas managed to bite Azrael's leg. I quickly ran faster to the rescue and attacked

the black hyenas causing it to stumble away and slammed into the trees. I immediately lick Azrael's

wound and it's quickly healed. He thanked me and I just growled.

Azrael ran towards the beast and attacked the weak hyenas.

I saw Layla and Sabrina still fighting on the other black hyenas. Layla was having trouble fighting the

black hyenas. I didn't waste any second and attack the black hyenas who were about to bite Layla on

her neck. The black hyenas slammed into the tree and fell down the ground in a loud thud. The black

hyenas roared in anger but also in pain and swearing to kill me.

Sabrina uses her power and sword to fight the beast. She's well trained, so it was easy for her to defeat

the beast but I notice her having trouble to kill the hyenas. The black hyenas are much more

aggressive so I know how Sabrina felt.

One of my pendants shone brightly and the three black hyenas that were still alive growled in pain. I

saw my wolf rune pendant---it was the one that was shining brightly. Suddenly, I felt so light. It's like all

my strength had tripled. The small blue diamond in my wolf rune pendant was glowing and its glow

flowed around my whole body. I feel like recharge and are in good condition that causes my glowing

golden white fur to glow even more brightly, almost blinding us.

My gaze met the three pairs of eyes from black hyenas. They suddenly stopped attacking us and

stared at me submissively. I let out a gasp when they bowed down their heads and kneeled. What are

they doing?

They let out a low growl like they were ashamed for their behavior earlier. My eyebrows furrowed

together when their huge bodies slowly retreated and vanished into the darkness as one of the

shadows.

"What happened??" Sabrina blurted out unbelievably.

I looked at my three companions who had a look of confusion. I just shrugged my shoulders then ran

towards Darius' dead body and weep. I couldn't help the tears to escape from my eyes. After 5

minutes, I stood up and closed my eyes. I was trying to locate the person who shot Darius. I will make

him pay whoever he is. He took a life and I will take his.

'I'll be back.' I mindlink everyone and run like a flash. I heard them calling my name but I didn't look

back. I was too eager to find the shooter. I know he was still in this forest and I will find him no matter

what.

My hearing became more clear and even the faint sound from afar I can hear. Even if I am too far

away, I still heard them calling my name. I blocked them out so I couldn't hear their begging inside my

head to come back.

I stopped when my feet stepped in the grass. I look around and notice that I was in a wide clearing of

the mountain. The moment my glowing fur was hit by the sunlight, a rainbow appeared.

I was about to run again when I noticed a faint aura. The owner was trying to hide it but it's no use

because I could hear its heartbeat from a distance. My eyesight became sharp and focused on the side

of the forest where I heard the heartbeats. Then I saw a person in black cloak with a bow and arrow in

his hand. I'm sure he is the shooter. It was dark, but given my clear sight I can see his face. What

shocked me was, it wasn't a man---it's a woman.

I ran faster towards the woman in cloak's direction. When I was at a closer distance, the woman

noticed my presence and she ran away faster. She's a demon but I can also smell her vampire blood.

She's also a hybrid. I was chasing her at full speed until I managed to tackle her to the ground. She let

out a loud grunt and cursed under her breath. She tried to get out from under me but I wasn't letting her

go.

She stopped wiggling and stared at my eyes. Her hood uncovered her head letting me see her face

clearly. Her dark brown almost black eyes looked at me in shock. She had long 'X' scars on her left

cheek and a mark on her forehead. No, it was a small red stone buried on her forehead. What is she?

Her gaze went to my necklace and my wolf rune pendant shimmered. I was so shocked when the red

stone in her forehead also shone brightly causing me to get off from her.

She stood up while not leaving her gaze away from mine, "You have the iron wolf rune. Where did you

get it?! It's been years since it was lost." she said while staring at my pendant. The small red stone in

her forehead still glimmered.

'Is this yours?' I said using telepathy. She shook her head no.

"No. It wasn't mine. The owner of that pendant is the King of Mormox Tribe. It was stolen years ago and

never retrieved back. The thief said that the pendant suddenly vanished in his hands," she paused and

looked at me intently. "It seems like, the pendant and the blue stone choose you as the new guardian."

'What?' me and my four spirits react in unison.

The woman was still staring at me intently like she was studying me. "You're different from every

werewolf I see. Your fur…it was glowing like the Wolf Goddess." the woman mumbled in awe.

'Yes, I am different from everyone else. But, I am sure that I am not the Wolf Goddess.' I said to her

and she seemed skeptical.

"What is your name?" she asked.

'Alex,' I said shortly.

"Nice to meet you, Alex. I am Lucia." she introduced herself.

But, I remembered what was really the reason why I was looking for her. I couldn't help but growl. She

stepped backwards in shock.

'Why did you kill the dragon?!' I furiously said. She gasped.

"I have to kill it before it will transform into a beast!"

I stared at her dumbfounded. 'What do you mean?!'

She let out a sigh, "I'll tell you but can you transform into your human form first?"

'But, I don't have clothes…'

"You can use my extra clothing." Lucia said and rummaged through her tiny bag that I didn't notice

earlier. She handed me a dress and short shorts. I was hesitant at first but decided to take her offer.

She turned around and I quickly transformed back into my human form. My bones are cracking a little

bit because of my sudden transformation. I wore the short shorts and the white dress that fell above my

knees. When I'm done, I cleared my throat.

"You can turn now." I said and then she slowly turned to me. A gasp let out in her mouth when she saw

me. She gulped and stared at my face.

It was clear that she was amazed by my beauty. "Now, tell me the reason why you killed my dragon

friend, Lucia?" I uttered coldly.

She cleared her throat and spoke, "I have to kill the dragon. It can't cross the Tibbertan Mountain

because he will bring the curse. That dragon was cursed by a witch," she paused and then heave a

sigh, "Once he stepped foot in Tibbertan Mountain, he will become a beast and the barrier of the whole

Mountain will be broken."

"I don't understand. Are you from Tibbertan Mountain?"

She smiled, "No. I'm from Moonlight Kingdom." I creased my forehead.

"Moonlight Kingdom? I didn't hear that name before." she nodded.

"Because our Kingdom is hidden and the only way to go there is through the Tibbertan Mountain or a

portal." she explained, still staring at my eyes.

"Huh?" She sensed my doubts and she continued explaining.

"Tibbertan Mountain is the gate going to Moonlight Kingdom. A Kingdom where wizard, werewolf,

vampire, demons and witches are not enemies. But those outside of the Tibbertan Mountain will be

considered our enemies."

"I don't get it." I stated my doubts.

"In time, you'll understand. But, I wanted to ask you. Why are you going to Tibbertan Mountain?" she

said, eyeing me intently.

"My deceased parents told me when I was little that I should go to Tibbertan Mountain to find answers

to my questions. And I don't know how that mountain could help me. As you said, it was a gate going to Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.

your Kingdom. How would I find answers to my questions?" I said with my eyebrows furrowed together

in confusion.

Nodding her head, she spoke, "I guess, the King and Queen could help you. And that is if they want

you to enter the Kingdom." I frown. What if they won't let us go in? Does this mean that all our efforts

will become a waste? Should we still continue our journey?

"But wait---what are you doing here if you came from that Kingdom?" I asked. She smiled.

"I was here because I have a mission. And that is to kill the dragon. That dragon was a deceiver, Alex.

He used you to get to Tibbertan Mountain. I was studying the dragon for days now and the moment he

sees you. I know he will use you when he doesn't attack you. That dragon used to attack me."

What? Could I trust her words? Is Darius really deceiving us? I frowned. How can a dragon manage to

deceive us?

How could I trust this woman I just met? I can't trust her. What if she will also deceive us? I can't put

our life in danger.

"I know what you're thinking. You're doubting me. I can't blame you because I am just a stranger to you

who also happened to be the one that killed your dragon friend." she paused and looked at me, "I don't

trust you either. But knowing your efforts to fight those beasts just to get to Tibbertan Mountain is

impressive."

I looked at her intently. "To be honest, I still hate you for killing Darius. But, what you said makes sense.

Now I know why Darius didn't attack us the first time he saw us, especially me."

She nodded and said, "I can help you go through the Moonlight Kingdom." my eyes widened.

"Really??" she nodded.

"Yes, in fact, I'll let you pass because you are the new guardian of the iron wolf rune. And I also wanted

to know why you are different from everyone else. You being a hybrid of five different genes is a

mystery. This is the first time that I encountered a hybrid with five genes. Hybrid usually only have two

or three genes, but your case is new. I think the King and Queen could help you." my heart was racing

in anticipation. I will meet the King and Queen of Moonlight Kingdom. The Kingdom I didn't know

existed.

"Thank you, Lucia." I sincerely said. She just smiled.

"I hope you will forgive me for killing the dragon. I just did my mission. And since my mission is done,

you can come with me." she said and I smiled.

"Can I ask you a question?" she hummed. I let out a long breath and said, "Why was the red stone

buried in your forehead?"

She smiled and said, "I've had this stone since I was born."

"Woah, does it mean that the stones were inside of your mother's womb?" she chuckled at my

conclusion and shook her head.

"Actually no, the stones only appeared the moment my mother gave birth to me." I nodded.

"How about the 'X' scars on your face?" she frowned and her breathing hitched in her throat. I guess it's

a sensitive topic. "You don't have to answer it. I'm sorry for asking." she sighed in relief and became

silent.

I heard some footsteps coming our way and then I heard them calling my name.

"Alex!!!"

I looked at Lucia's back when I heard my name being called. It was Azrael, Sabrina and Layla who

were running towards where I was. They frowned when they saw Lucia. Sabrina suddenly ready her

weapons. I shook my head at her. Azrael and Layla were also eyeing Lucia.

"You're a Demon and a Vampire." Azrael hissed.

"Who are you??" Sabrina asked Lucia while eyeing her intently. Lucia shrugged her shoulders and

looked at me.

"Guys, this is Lucia." I introduced her to them.

One by one, they introduced themselves to Lucia. But, they're still on high alert. We are all the same,

we can't trust a stranger we just meet. I sighed, "Lucia can help us to go through the Tibbertan

Mountain."

"What? Are you sure? What if she will kill us? That woman killed Darius!" Sabrina blurted out in rage.

Azrael and Layla gasped. Soon, Layla's face turned sour.

"You! You killed Darius!" Layla was about to attack Lucia when I stopped her. She looked at me

questioningly.

"Don't." they all looked at me in shock.

"Why are you protecting her, Alex?" Azrael asked with furrowed eyebrows in confusion.

I let out a sigh, "As I said, Lucia can help us to go to Tibbertan Mountain."

"How?" Sabrina asked.

"Trust me. I can bring you there because I came from that mountain." Lucia blurted out which made

everyone confused.

"You mean, you live in that mountain? But why are you here?" Azrael asked in curiosity.

Lucia looked at Azrael, "You can say that. But I'm not exactly live on that mountain. Tibbertan Mountain

is just a facade, it's actually a gate going to my Kingdom."

"What? A Kingdom?"

"Yes," Lucia stared at Sabrina intently. "You're also finding an answer, are you?"

Sabrina hesitantly nodded, "How did you know?"

"Because Alex said, you are all going to Tibbertan Mountain to find an answers to your doubts."

Sabrina nodded, "Also, I will help you go through because I saw how you exerted an effort just to go

through the mountain which is still far from here. Without me, you'll be lost in the fifth mountain."

My forehead creased in confusion, "Why?"

"Because the King casted some spells to trick whoever crosses the mountain. There's a possibility that

you cannot get out of that mountain or worse you'll end up dead." we all gasped.

"Are you telling the truth? What if you're just trying to deceive us?" Sabrina uttered skeptically.

Lucia rolled her eyes at Sabrina, "It's up to you, if you will not believe me. You can continue going to

that mountain while fighting some beast along your way that were much more stronger than the one

you last fought, or you will come with me in an easy way? Choose." Sabrina became silent while

thinking deeply.

Azrael and Layla looked at me. I let out a sigh, "We can trust, Lucia. I know she's telling the truth." I

looked at Sabrina and she heave a sigh then slowly nodded. I smile at her.

I looked at Lucia. "We'll come with you, Lucia." she smiled then nodded.

"Okay, get ready because I will open the portal now." Lucia said and turned her back at us then walked

towards the other side.

She stopped in front of a huge tree then casted some spells. The wind blows furiously and the leaves

slowly swirling around in a circle. My hair got messy by the wind. Suddenly, a circle motion with dark

purple color---almost black, showed up. It's like a whirlwind. Lucia smiled at us.

"Let's go." she said.

The four of us looked at each other and nodded. We walked towards the portal and we all entered with

Lucia behind us.
