Chapter 150 The Day on the Island

Staying on this island, her mood would be much better.

For whatever reason, she didn't want to leave for now. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

She opened her eyes and watched as the sky transformed from darkness to light, with a pale glow of

dawn appearing on the horizon. Avery strolled around the island.

Everyone treated her kindly, warmly inviting her to their homes for breakfast and thanking her for the

supplies she brought.

Randy had already started painting on the beach with the art supplies she had purchased.

His handsome face was filled with excitement. "Avy, is it beautiful?"

Although he had never formally studied painting, he possessed a talent that others lacked. Even in

black and white, his drawings were stunning, and adding colors made them even more vibrant.

Avery nodded with delight. "You paint beautifully."

With such talent, if he could acquire more knowledge, he would surely achieve great things in the

future.

"You taught me well, Avy. Will you stay on the island forever?" Randy's eyes sparkled with charm.

"Yes," Avery's voice sounded obscure. Even she herself didn't know how long she could stay.

She didn't know whether Jacob or death would come first.

"Avy, your complexion is not good, and you've been gloomy these past few days. Are you worried

about Ethan?"

"He can eat and sleep well, and he's being taken care of by a lot of people every day. There's nothing

to worry about," Avery replied.

As the following days remained calm and uneventful, with no suspicious individuals arriving on the

island, Avery gradually relaxed her guard.

This sea area was vast, and besides the indigenous inhabitants, no one else knew about the existence

of this island, which wasn't even marked on the map.

Even if they used drones for surveillance, the strong winds and harsh weather conditions at sea made

long-distance flights inconvenient.

At least it wouldn't be a matter of days for Jacob to find her.

A smile returned to Avery's face. She had already made a plan. Once she outlasted Jacob's patience,

the mastermind behind it all would also lose patience.

On this island, Avery found a sense of self-worth. Every day, she taught children how to read and write,

taught Randy how to paint, and occasionally followed Lois to learn shoemaking on sunny days.

Frank would go fishing with the villagers and sometimes wouldn't return for several days, but each time

he came back, he brought a bountiful catch.

During the glorious sunset, as everyone savored the joy of harvest, Avery noticed that something was

off with Frank's hand.

"Are you injured?" she asked.

Frank instinctively hid his hand behind his back and replied in a low voice, "It's nothing."

She pulled his hand out and discovered a large cut in his palm, with fresh blood trickling down.

Under Avery's gaze, he felt slightly embarrassed and turned away, explaining, "It's just a minor injury. I

accidentally cut my hand while pulling up a big fish."

"A wound this big can't be considered minor," she said.

Fortunately, when she restocked supplies, she bought a first aid kit. "Come with me."

Under the evening sun, the two sat by the door as Avery patiently bandaged his wound. The golden

light cast a warm glow on his face, adding a touch of tenderness to his voice.

"Be more careful in the future," Avery finished wrapping up the wound, but she noticed that he was still

staring at the bandaged area.

"What's wrong? Did I not bandage it properly?"

"No," the man slowly lifted his head, and the sunlight gave a faint halo to his dark eyes, making his

voice sound gentle.

"You're the first person ever to bandage my wound."

Avery gently averted her gaze. She didn't know anything about Frank's background, just like the people

on the island didn't know about his past.

In her moment of trance, Frank grabbed her hand. "What are you doing?"

"As a token of gratitude, I'll give you a gift."
