Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 405: You are the Crazy Devil Who Dotes on His Wife!

“It’s not like that. Being called Mrs. Pascall in this kind of situation makes me feel like I’m just an accessory to him. After all, isn’t the main focus of today’s interview Mr. Pascall?”

However, the host was surprised and spoke up, “Today’s main focus is not you, it’s Mr. Pascall. We’re just starting off by asking the audience’s most pressing question.”

Nydia was equally surprised and said, “Huh? The main focus isn’t me?” Then she pouted and looked at Jesse saying, “He said the main focus isn’t me.”

“Let’s go then,” Jesse said calmly.

From the beginning until now, aside from greeting them earlier on, this was only Jesse’s second sentence.

The host was dumbfounded; they were really leaving?

“Mr. Pascall, didn’t we agree beforehand that we would mainly be interviewing you?”

“When did we say that? Wasn’t it because you spread malicious rumors about Mrs. Pascall Nydia that we agreed to let you interview us?”

“Otherwise with your company’s credentials?” Jesse coldly retorted without giving any face to the host.

The smile on the host’s face couldn’t be maintained anymore.

He had always relied on his thick skin and word games throughout his career and almost always succeeded but encountered a setback with Jesse and Nydia here.

“Is Mr. Pascall looking down on us?”

“Aren’t my words clear enough?”

The host avoided eye contact with Jesse as he felt he wouldn’t be able to think rationally if he met those eyes again.

“It has been said that Mr. Pascall is very arrogant and doesn’t care about ordinary people at all; today I can see it for myself,” The host finished speaking before immediately turning towards Nydia with a sharp look in his eyes saying: “So this is why Mrs. Pascal takes human life so lightly? She looks down even upon her own relatives; let alone people like us.”

Nydia sighed while holding her forehead: “People can be ordinary but they cannot have low self-esteem; what we are talking about is your company’s level rather than referring directly to yourself – don’t take things personally or there will never be any communication between us – do you want us to ask for another interviewer?”

Jesse looked at the host: “Can we talk properly or do we need someone else?”

“I’m scared now! I’ll compromise! I’ll speak properly!” The Host suddenly adopted an attitude of daring not speak out against them anymore: “I’m just a working man who is humble.”

At this time live bullet screen comments flooded in:

[Why does this Host sound so sarcastic?]

[Number one for being insincere!]”I’m on Jesse and Nydia’s side with this one. The host’s bias is too obvious.”

“Doesn’t anyone else think that Jesse is a doting husband? I used to think he was a chauvinist, but he really respects Nydia!”

“Maybe it’s all an act? You guys are too young to know better!”

At this point, Nydia spoke up. “Acoustic Pictures spread rumors about me killing someone in a car accident before, and today we’re using their livestream to clear things up.”

“Please show the video in a small window,” she requested.

A staff member went up to take care of it, and soon enough the video appeared in the small window. It clearly showed Alex running out and then lying down on his own accord; the car didn’t hit him at all despite being only slightly far away from him. The brakes were applied just in time.

With this evidence, all previous claims fell apart.

“But how do we know there wasn’t any editing done? Otherwise why would there be so much blood on the old man?” someone asked.

Nydia smiled without saying anything.

“When we received the call earlier, we immediately rushed over. Miss Wagner sent us this video as soon as possible; there wasn’t any time for editing,” said a man wearing police uniform who looked stern and upright.

“As for the bloodstains on his face being chicken blood – our hospital has already issued proof that besides some scratches he sustained no other injuries from getting hit.” All these documents were available at hospitals for everyone to see clearly.

“Can you please switch over to where the old man is hospitalized?” Nydia stared down at the host while speaking.

The host realized they had lost control of everything by now; they could only comply with her request. At that moment, sure enough Alex appeared lively and well without any injuries while still lying on his hospital bed – even arguing with doctors!

“You’re fine now sir; please leave as soon as possible since other patients need beds too.”

“I’m not fine yet! You guys just want me out so you can cheat me!”

“That’s right! We won’t leave!” Idris also started shouting without noticing anyone filming them

“If you keep acting like this then we’ll call security,” warned one doctor

“Do it then! Are you scared of us? If you kick us out then we’ll say that you teamed up with Jesse against us farmers – trying to force us into death!”

These words caused another explosion of comments in real-time chat once again.”Damn it! I’m getting angry now!”

“Old people can be so disgusting. I used to trust them, but now I know they’re just bad luck.”

Idris continued to rant, blaming Jesse and Nydia for the death of his grandson and the disappearance of his granddaughter. He accused them of lacking conscience.

The entire hospital room was filled with tension, making it impossible for other patients to rest.

The scene then shifted back to Nydia’s side.

“The car accident has been explained clearly. So please, Mrs. Pascall…” The host’s words were interrupted by Nydia’s cold voice.

“Don’t understand human language? Call me Miss Wagner.”

The host looked displeased; this was definitely his worst day on the job ever.

“Miss Wagner, is this gentleman your grandfather?” The host had no choice but to grit his teeth and ask the question even though he was already very angry. His boss had told him he could cause trouble because there were people above him who would protect him from Jesse if anything happened.

“I’ve never seen this man before,” Nydia replied curtly.

“So you can’t confirm whether or not he is your grandfather?” The host became excited again at the possibility that something big might happen on air today.

“I don’t know them at all. What do you think?” Nydia retorted back without waiting for a response from the host. “Although I’d like to give an example saying that I’m your grandmother – would you believe me? But given how thick-skinned you are, maybe you would believe me after all… so let’s not use that example.”

The host remained silent as Jesse spoke up: “Everything has been explained clearly; there’s no need to waste any more time here today. Your company can release a statement clarifying everything later on if necessary – we have evidence if needed.”

Nydia stood up and walked behind Jesse, placing her hands on the back of his wheelchair.

“Mr. Pascall,” she said confidently,”I think they wouldn’t come all this way just for nothing – they must be genuine relatives after all… otherwise it’d be like using an egg against a rock!”

“It seems like people who enjoy moral blackmailing are quite common these days,” Jesse responded calmly.

“Oh yeah… and about Acoustic Pictures spreading rumors about me being Mrs. Pascall- well, I won’t let it slide. I’ll see them in court soon enough!”

Nydia pushed Jesse out of view as they left together.

Soon enough, the live broadcast ended with their figures disappearing from view altogether . The live broadcast had a huge audience, reaching over 20 million viewers. It was clear that Jesse and Nydia had become quite popular. The rushed nature of the broadcast likely prevented even more people from tuning in.Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

However, the host loudly questioned, “Mr. Pascall, are you planning to attack Acoustic Pictures?”
