Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 332 They got bullied

Nydia stared at Jesse, noticing the slight twitching of his facial muscles. She couldn’t tell whether he was nervous or angry, but she suspected the latter.

“No answer?” she asked.

Jesse remained silent, lips pursed, which surprised Nydia.

“I thought you couldn’t stand being with me anymore? Why bother clinging on for over five years? You’re right, I should let go of my obsession.”

His tone was mocking, tinged with a nameless desolation. It wasn’t the kind of relief that one feels after releasing a burden, but rather like someone grasping at sand that kept slipping through their fingers, until there was only one grain left. Then, with a flick of his hand, he gave up on that last grain like he was giving up on everything.

“As for whether you’ll be with Zane or Barclay, I can’t control that. Molly belongs to you, treat her well. But if I find out you’re treating her badly, I won’t let you or your man go.”

Nydia was dumbfounded. Jesse, who usually had intense emotions, spoke calmly. In her mind, these were not the words Jesse would say, or at least not in a state of calmness. If he had to say them, it would be during an emotional breakdown, or even in hysteria. How could he sound so calm?

Did he no longer love her?

Did he no longer care?

All those talks about letting go of obsession were bullshit. When you still loved someone, you couldn’t let go. You would be voluntarily controlled by your own demons. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Nydia didn’t know what to say. Her heart was in turmoil.

Did the medication start to work? Was Jesse slowly returning to normal?

“Do you have anything else to say?” Jesse asked.

“No, no more. I’ll go first,” Nydia replied.

She didn’t know how she made it back to her bedroom. Her mind was a mess.

Nydia always wondered about Jesse’s feelings towards her. He was fierce when he arrived, but suddenly changed when he left. She felt like she never had control.

She tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep.

After a while, she thought it was okay. If the treatment worked, they could go their separate ways without owing each other anything. They didn’t have to become enemies.

But her heart felt empty, like she lost something important.

She pressed her chest, trying to suppress the sourness, but couldn’t shake it off.

Nydia was taking Molly and Tavish to school, and Jesse didn’t object.

But she still asked, “How did you think of sending them to school? Aren’t you supposed to go to work?”

“Somebody bullied Molly at school, and I need to check it out,” Jesse replied.

“Who?” Jesse frowned.

“Sherry. You should remember her. Her mother came to greet us during the last parent-child activity,” Nydia said.

Jesse remembered and nodded without saying anything.

“What’s their background? Why are they so arrogant?” Jesse asked.

“I’ll go check,” Jesse said. He had never looked into the background of Sherry’s family before and hadn’t paid much attention to them. But after hearing what Nydia said today, he decided to investigate.

“Let’s go first.”

Nydia took the two children to the kindergarten.

After they arrived, she was glad she came with them today.

“Mrs. Pascall, why are you bringing your children to school today?” Mrs. Hussain was surprised to see Nydia, but quickly adjusted her expression and asked. However, there was no smile on her face this time, probably because she didn’t want to be insincere.

“Why do I need to report to you about what I do?” Nydia found it satisfying to speak like Jesse sometimes.

Mrs. Hussain’s face stiffened, but soon a touch of ridicule appeared. “Of course you don’t need to report to me about what you do. However, since your daughter bullied my daughter, I have to ask for an explanation.”

“Oh? Is that so? Molly, did you bully Sherry?” Nydia asked Molly with a stern expression.

“No, it was Sherry who cheated and didn’t fulfill the bet. She hit me first, and I was just defending myself!” Molly said.

“Mrs. Hussain, did you hear that?”

“Children joking around with each other is normal. Your daughter not only insulted my daughter but hit her so hard that Sherry has several bruises on her arms and legs. Here are some photos. Don’t say they are fake.” Mrs. Hussain took out her phone and showed several pictures of bruises on Sherry’s arms and legs.

“That’s not right. My daughter said Sherry ran over and hit her first, and she just pushed her lightly. Sherry fell, and she didn’t hit her anymore. How come there are so many bruises? Could it be that you guys hurt her and then blamed my daughter?” Nydia asked.

“How could that be? Don’t try to argue here!” Mrs. Hussain was angry, but Nydia remained calm. “If the beating was really that severe yesterday, why didn’t Sherry tell the teacher? Teachers, do you know about this?”

The teachers shook their heads, indicating that they didn’t know about the incident.

“Because the teachers always side with Molly and Tavish, that’s why I didn’t speak up!” Sherry yelled, tears in her eyes, looking very indignant.

“Where is the evidence? Use evidence to prove that the injuries on your body were caused by my daughter.”

Sherry and her mother were momentarily speechless.

In fact, Mrs. Hussain didn’t expect Nydia to come today. She had originally thought that it would be a simple matter to come over and seek justice for her child, but with Nydia here, things became complicated.

“Can you tell the teacher what happened yesterday?” the teacher asked the children in the class.

“Teacher, Sherry and Molly made a bet and Sherry lost. Sherry didn’t learn how to bark like a dog, so we called Sherry a stinky egg. She got angry and wanted to hit Molly. Molly pushed her away, but she got up and hit her again. Declan went over to grab Molly, and Molly’s face was scratched.”

“Yes, that’s exactly what happened. We all saw it.”

At this moment, a male voice suddenly shouted, “Who called my daughter a stinky egg? Who? Damn it, do you deserve a beating?”

The children were scared by this deep voice.

A big man suddenly appeared next to Sherry, scaring the children with his tough look.

“Daddy, it’s them. They bullied me. This girl, Molly, often hits me.” Sherry complained, pointing at Molly and crying.

Xavier immediately glared at Molly. “You bully my daughter?”

He reached out to grab Molly, but Nydia immediately stood in front of her.

“What are you doing!” she scolded loudly.

Xavier was about to get angry, but when he saw Nydia, he was stunned.

“Dad, you have to revenge me.” Sherry said seeing that her father was not in a hurry.

“Are you the kid’s mother?” Xavier asked after clearing his throat.

“Are you Sherry’s father?” Nydia asked.

“Yes!” Xavier flipped his hair, looking very handsome. “I warn you, don’t bully my daughter, or I won’t be polite!”

“It’s your daughter who bullied my daughter, and she’s full of lies!”

“How dare you talk like that!” Xavier was not happy, although he felt that Nydia was not giving him face.

“Please show some manners,” Nydia said coldly.

Xavier spat directly, “Apologize to my daughter right now, and we’ll forget about this. Otherwise…”

“It’s impossible. Your whole family is crooked and immoral!”

“Say it again, you f*cking…” Xavier got angry and pushed Nydia. The force was so strong that Nydia fell to the ground, twisting her ankle and wincing in pain.

“You bitch, can’t you be nicer…”

Xavier was about to teach Nydia a lesson, but suddenly, a chair hit him hard in the back.
