Reborn Before The Divorce

The phone rang for a while before Nydia answered it.

“Hello,” Jesse could hear the detachment in her voice.

“Where are you?”

“I’m at the restaurant. I thought I’d come over and see the renovations,” her voice was distant.

“When will you be back?”

The conversation between the two sounded very stiff.

After a moment of silence, Nydia answered, “Later.”

She still didn’t know how to face him.

Although she understood him and knew she shouldn’t blame him rationally, emotionally, she still had some difficulty expressing herself. She needed some time.
