Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 254

The atmosphere in the private room became a bit unpleasant.

Asher had already been drinking and was now a bit reckless with his words and actions, refusing to let Nydia leave.

“Mr. Khan, you’ve had too much to drink. Why are you arguing with assistant? Come on, let’s drink,” Rudy spoke up for Nydia again.

“Rudy, you keep speaking up for her. Is she your lover? Did you bring her in?” Asher accused.

“Don’t talk nonsense!” Rudy was getting angry.

“Then what’s your stake in this?” Asher pressed.

“Fine, whatever you say,” Rudy gave in.

Rudy felt that Asher was being unreasonable and just acting out because he had too much to drink.

Asher grabbed three glasses and poured three shots of white liquor.

“Here’s the deal. You drink these three shots and then you can leave.”

The others in the room were just watching the spectacle.

Nydia was feeling isolated now that Taylor had left not long after the dinner started, possibly anticipating this type of situation.

Maddie was worried but couldn’t do much. After all, Rudy was her boss and hadn’t done anything too excessive at the moment.

But Nydia wasn’t really a corporate slave, and even if she was, she shouldn’t have to put up with this type of insult.

“You drink it yourself. I’m leaving,” she said and walked to the door, opened it, stepped out, and shut the door. She heard Rudy shout behind her, “You wait for me!”This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

The others in the room tried to convince Rudy to let it go, saying, “There’s no need for this. Why are you targeting her? Don’t you know she came in through connection? Aren’t you afraid of the people behind her?”

“Do you really think the people behind her are that powerful? If they were so powerful, why would she be assistant? Why would she come here to have dinner with us?”

After thinking it through, they realized that Nydia had been doing her job and had been diligent in her work.

“Let’s drop it. We won’t talk about her anymore,” one of them said.

“I’ll give her a piece of my mind sooner or later!” Rudy said through gritted teeth.

Some of them were starting to think that Rudy was just acting crazy and that he should just let it go. Even if Nydia had come in through connection, there was still a way to make use of her resources.

At that moment, Nydia walked out and saw Jesse’s car parked on the side of the road with its hazard lights on. She got into the car.

As soon as she got in, Jesse frowned. “How much did you drink?”

“They kept pouring drinks for me.”

Nydia leaned against Jesse. “I drank too much and don’t feel well.”

Her voice became soft and lazy, which Jesse couldn’t resist. However, he didn’t like the smell of alcohol and smoke on her.

“There’s no need to attend these gatherings.”

“I’m just an assistant. What can I do?”

Jesse regretted again. He shouldn’t have agreed to let her work there. Whenever it came to her, he couldn’t control his emotions, especially when she was with her injured leg. He easily became ill-tempered.

“No, no, I’m going to be sick. Find a place to pull over.” Nydia covered her mouth and said.

Vergil was startled and immediately pulled over the car.

As soon as the car stopped, Nydia got out and rushed to vomit.

“Sir, I’ll go check on madam.”

“Okay, bring water and tissues.”

“Madam, are you okay?” Vergil stood next to her, handing her water to rinse her mouth.

But she immediately vomited again.

Vergil watched her squatting on the side of the road and thought about whether to pat her back. He looked back at Jesse in the car, even though he couldn’t see anything, he felt a sharp gaze shooting at him. After a moment’s consideration, he decided not to pat her, as he might have died on the spot if he had.
