Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 252

Vincent remained silent for a few seconds before looking at Jesse and answering, “I still hope to perform the surgery for you when there’s an 80% chance of success.”

“When will we reach that 80%?” Jesse asked.

“Jesse, I understand your urgency, but we have to take it slow. The more rushed we are, the worse it’ll be,” Vincent replied.

“It’s been so many years, how can I not be anxious? You know that the longer we wait, the worse the situation will become,” Jesse said.

Vincent immediately realized that Jesse was becoming agitated and slowed his tone, “Jesse, calm down. Here’s what we’ll do. Give me six months, just six months, and I’ll find a better treatment method. Okay?”

Jesse nodded with his head down.

The feeling of hope being ignited and then shattered was not unfamiliar to him, but each time it required a stronger heart to bear, or else he would be consumed by darkness.

Vincent watched Jesse’s departing figure, knowing that there was no true empathy in this world. No matter how much he understood Jesse, he couldn’t replace him in enduring this suffering.

The once vibrant Jesse with long, straight legs, and a walking clothes hanger, was now…Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

Jesse and Vergil left for a Traditional Chinese Doctor’s residence.

“Boss, this Traditional Chinese Doctor is good. Many people have sought his medical attention, saying that he has miraculous healing hands,” Vergil said.

But Jesse’s mood was low, and he seemed uninterested.

After they arrived, the Traditional Chinese Doctor examined Jesse’s leg injury and his expression turned serious.

“You’ve delayed too much time. If something happens soon, it won’t be easy to treat,” he said.

“Don’t you have any other options? Your medical skills are superb, please think of another way,” Vergil pleaded with the Traditional Chinese Doctor.

“Let me take a closer look.”

He carefully examined Jesse’s legs. “Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll try it out and see if it works.”

“Just try it out?” Vergil thought this was risky. What if something went wrong?

“Yes, I have to test his reaction first to determine if it can be cured,” the Traditional Chinese Doctor explained.

Jesse, who had been silent all this time, spoke up and agreed to let the Traditional Chinese Doctor try.

The doctor first applied some medicine and then used silver needles on Jesse’s legs.

Seeing these silver needles, Jesse remembered Nydia mentioning Mr. Black using gold needles.

“Do you feel pain?”

Jesse shook his head.

Fifteen minutes later, he took out a silver needle and prescribed medicine for Jesse. “Take these medicines back and come back tomorrow for another acupuncture session.”

On the way back, Vergil asked Jesse, “Mr. President, did you feel anything when you were being treated just now?”

“Not really.”

Vergil suddenly felt uneasy, thinking that no feeling meant no effect.

“Let’s not go back yet. I’ll guide you.” Jesse’s phone had already opened the navigation to Da Yu hot pot restaurant.

Vergil wondered why they were going to a hot pot restaurant. Was the president in a bad mood and wanted to eat hot pot?

He didn’t know that Nydia was having a gathering at the hot pot restaurant.

As a newcomer in the design department, Nydia was naturally bullied and was being forced to drink.

She had already had three beers and a glass of red wine. Drinking mixed liquor was easy to get drunk.

“How could you bully the new person in the design department like this? Be careful not to scare her away.” Designer Rudy Gray walked over, took Nydia’s glass, poured her drink into his own glass and said, “I’ll drink this for her.”

After he finished, he looked at Nydia and smiled, “Don’t be afraid, we are very nice in the design department.” He also patted Nydia’s shoulder.

After Rudy drank the wine, everyone cheered.

“What’s your relationship? You drank for her.”

“I just can’t stand you guys bullying the newcomer.”

“You must think she’s pretty.”

“Nonsense, you guys are scaring her again.”
