Chapter 247

“Never mind, just a small favor.” Nydia smiled.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Good, here are the documents, please arrange them in the table.”

Nydia looked at the time, and there was only half an hour left before quitting time. How could she finish arranging the documents in such a short time?

“It should be done quickly, before we leave,” she said.

“… “Why does Taylor seem a little strange? she wondered, catching a whiff of scheming.

As she began organizing the documents, she knew it was impossible to finish before quitting time. This was the helplessness of being a company slave.

But Maddie came to her aid, and they finished quickly enough to leave on time.

“Thank you so much,” Nydia said.

“No problem, I know you’re a rich kid, and I’m just investing,” Maddie replied.

Nydia smiled wryly. No one had ever put helping her in such blunt terms, but it was refreshing.

“I’m heading home now. How about you?” Nydia asked.

“I have some unfinished work,” Maddie replied, noticing Nydia’s expression. “Don’t feel guilty, I’m investing!”

“Okay.”

Nydia drove home from the parking lot, feeling exhausted. Working was indeed very tiring.

That night, she ate dinner with her two children before taking a bath and going to bed. She knew tomorrow would be just as busy as this afternoon. She had to prepare herself for this kind of work for a while.

And Willette didn’t come to find her at work today, even though she did. She wondered what the father and daughter were up to.

These days, she was always working long hours and sometimes even overtime. She didn’t have time to cook for her family, let alone spend time with her children.

Jesse had Molly go wake Nydia up for breakfast.

“Sir, Missus has already left,” Julia replied.

“When did she leave?”

“Half an hour ago, in a hurry.”

Jesse frowned, feeling upset.

When he came home for dinner, he didn’t see Nydia, so he had Julia call her and learned that she was working overtime.

Throughout dinner, Jesse was in a bad mood.

“Daddy, are we going bankrupt?” Molly suddenly asked.

Jesse was stunned. Bankrupt? He had no idea.

“Otherwise, why mommy has to work so busily?”

It must be her daddy useless, so her mommy had to go out for work.

“Mommy thinks staying at home is boring, so she went to work,” he replied.

But Molly didn’t accept this reason. She turned to Tavish and said, “Brother, we have to make a lot of money so that Mom doesn’t have to work so hard.”

Jesse didn’t know what to say.

It had been three days since Nydia had spoken to Jesse. Sometimes, Jesse was asleep when Nydia came home, and sometimes Nydia was already asleep when Jesse finished working.

Today, Jesse instructed the butler, Jeff, to notify him as soon as Nydia came home.

Nydia finally came home at nine in the evening.

The first thing she did was take a bath.

Jesse went to her room and knocked on the bathroom door when he didn’t see her.

“Who is it?” Nydia asked.

“It’s me.”

“What’s wrong? I’m taking a bath, you can come in and talk,” Nydia said.

Jesse’s hand froze as he was about to knock on the door.
