Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 176

Nydia was starving in the room without water or food. If she had known earlier, she would have packed some food in her bag, so she wouldn’t be so hungry now.

She lay on the bed, painfully holding her stomach and trying to hypnotize herself into not feeling hungry when she suddenly heard a rumbling sound from outside the room.

She got up and looked around. It was a small stone, not a hallucination caused by hunger.

As she walked to the window, she was startled to see a man.

“Quickly, come and get it,” said the middle-aged man, sweating profusely and looking anxious.

“What is it?” Nydia was too surprised to get close, afraid that it might be a trap. But if it was a trap, this man seemed to be working too hard for it.

He had a rope on his waist, but her room was on the third floor.

“There’s food, someone asked me to bring it to you. Hurry, I can’t hold on much longer.”

Nydia carefully studied his expression. Sweat dripped into his eyes, but he blinked without wiping it away.

She went to pick up the package, which was heavy.

“Thank you!”

“I have to go.”

The man quickly disappeared. Nydia leaned over the window and saw him climb down.

No one noticed what had happened here, and he wasn’t caught, but his actions were quite dangerous.

Nydia waited until she saw that he was safe before opening the package. It even had a thermos in it. Inside were a dish with meat and vegetables, a bowl of rice, a dessert, and two bananas.

Did Jesse send her food?

So “high profile”?

She quickly messaged Jesse.

“Did you send me food?”

“No.”

“I thought it was from you. Then I dare not eat it, afraid that it might be poisoned.”

Jesse was angry and replied unkindly:

“Do you think everyone is like you and would poison others?”

Seeing this, Nydia knew that this meal must be related to Jesse.

Since Jesse wouldn’t admit it, then…

She quietly called Vergil.

“Hello, this is Vergil.”

“It’s me, Vergil.”

“Missus, what can I do for you?”

“Oh, someone suddenly sent me food, and I’m worried that it’s Willette’s trap, so I dare not eat it.”

“You can eat it with confidence.”

“Why?”

Vergil was stunned. The Boss said not to tell his wife, but how could he hide this from her?

“Because I asked someone to deliver it to you.”

“Oh, so it was Jesse who sent it to me.”

“No, it was me. Boss doesn’t know. I was afraid that you might be hungry, so I took the liberty of doing it.”

“…” Do you know how fake you sound?

“Missus, you can eat, but please don’t tell Boss.”

“Vergil, are we that close? Are you secretly in love with me?”

Vergil was so scared that he almost dropped his phone.

“Missus, please don’t say that. I just did my job!”

“Does your job include caring for me?”This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

Vergil wanted to bang his head against the wall!

“Well, it was Boss’ orders, but please don’t tell him that I told you. Please.”

“I see. I’ll eat it depending on my mood. That’s it for now.”
