Psycho Boss And His Sassy Secretary

Jayden stares at his worst nightmare in shock. He has never expected to meet Skylar again in his life, especially in his secretary’s house. He feels a rush of anger mixed with different emotions he can not mention, all over his body. His hands squeeze into fists. Her face disgusts him, but still, he can see her new beauty.

Evelyn watches her boss and her cousin with a questioning look. She can sense the familiarity in their tones and she doesn’t miss the shocked expression on their faces. Who knows? Her social media influencer cousin may know Jayden from somewhere, after all, she knows her boyfriend too.

Evelyn locks the door and quickly walks over to them.

“Do you know each other from somewhere?” Evelyn asks innocently, interrupting the silence that reigns in the living room.

That is the only question she asked.

Jayden stands up from his face and walks out of the living room.

Evelyn’s brows snapped together.”Mr. Jayden!” She calls his name.

She runs after him. Luckily for her, she catches up with him before he can enter his car.

“Why are you leaving? You haven’t eaten your meal,” She queries him.

He lowers his gaze, avoiding her intense eye contact.”I am not interested in eating the food anymore. You can have it. Meet me in the company,”

He is about to move an inch away from him, but she grabs his hand with her two hands. She lifts her eyebrows.”What is wrong? Why do you want to leave, all of a sudden? We went through stress to cook the spaghetti bolognese,” She rambles.

He shrugs off her hands, giving her a cold stare. The way his bright green eyes turn a shade darker makes her pull away from him. He has never stared at her in that way before. It is just like his eyes blazing fire.

“Meet me in the company when you are done,” He says.

With these words, he enters his car without staring at her for the last time.

Evelyn watches as his car leaves her house. She is confused. What happened? Why did his mood change, all of a sudden? She doesn’t offend him, how come he seems so upset?

She recalls that her cousin is inside the living room. His mood changes after he sets his eyes on Skylar. Has something happened between them before?

Evelyn walks inside. She finds her cousin pacing around the living room, with a frown on her face. “How come Jayden Turner is your boss?” Skylar blurts out.”Why didn’t you tell me that he is your boss?”

Evelyn’s honey-brown eyes narrow.”Why should I tell you information about my boss? How is it useful to you?”

Her cousin lifts her shoulder in a shrug.”You should have told me, at least or, I don’t even know,” She mutters and runs to her room.

Evelyn is more than confused now. Surely, Skylar and Jayden know each other. But, what happened between them?

She is even more upset about the way Jayden treated her. The way he gave her a cold stare still sticks to her memory. He should have given her an explanation or give her an excuse, instead of leaving just like that. She is heartbroken right now.

Jayden squeezes his eyes shut, resting his head on the arms of the chair.

He really regrets treating Evelyn coldly. He shouldn’t have left her house in that manner. He should have stayed and eaten the spaghetti bolognese they cooked, pretending as if he was not aware of Skylar’s existence in the house.

It is really difficult to do that. How will he eat peacefully knowing the person he detests is in the same house as him? How will he chat happily with Evelyn, knowing that Skylar may be listening to them and maybe, laughing her ass over shattering his heart into pieces?

There is no way Jayden can pretend as if he doesn’t care about Skylar. He has gotten over her. At least, that is what he thinks. But, seeing her after a very long time, he cannot deny that his heart skips a beat. He has a tingling feeling when her deep ocean-like eyes are pierced into his eyes. He hates that he still has that kind of reaction for a cheat like her. He is indeed a finished man for Skylar Jones.

The door opens, jolting him out of his thoughts. It is his friend, who is also acting as his assistant.

Joe sits on his favorite couch in his friend’s office. He glances at Jayden, his brows furrowing when he notices the sad look on Jayden’s face.

“What is up with that look, Jayden? What is wrong with you? Where have you been? Are you hungry?” Joe bombards his friend with questions.

Jayden let out a hiss, fluttering his eyelashes rapidly.”Which one should I answer, first?”

“Anyone. Start with the most important point, then move to the least important one,” Joe says.

Jayden breathes in. There is no other person he can talk to, except Joe. Maybe, opening up to him will be better.

“I went to Evelyn’s house for some cooking shits – ”

“You are always trying to impress that gorgeous lady. Tell me, when was the last time you cooked for me, blood?” Joe scoffs.

“Keep quiet.”He snaps at him.”She volunteered to cook for me, I only helped her,”

“So, what happened? Kitchen romance shît, right?”

Jayden shrugs.”I saw Skylar Jones. Evelyn is her cousin,” He utters.

Joe frowns.”Wait a minute, don’t tell me you are sad because you saw that bitch, Skylar,”

“I don’t know why, I had so much emotion, seeing her face after a very long time. She has this effect on me, Joe and you know that,” Jayden rambles, threading his fingers through his jet-black hair.

Joe raises his eyebrows.”I thought you had gotten over that bitch,”

“I don’t know, Joe. I don’t know. I have gotten over the feelings I have for her, but I don’t know what happened today.”

“You sound so foolish right now and I feel like punching your face or slapping your head. You were so depressed because of how this girl treated you. You had a therapist because of that. How come you are spitting nonsense now?” Joe barks at him.

“I loved her,”

“I loved her too, fool. But, I got rid of my stupid feelings for her when I found out that she was dating both of us, at the same time,”
