Chapter 30 The Crisis Is Overwhelming

Chapter 30 The Crisis Is Overwhelming

Channing dragged his disabled leg and limped to the designated place.

Due to being teased by Clarissa again and again, the location to return the documents was chosen by

Channing this time.

He deliberately chose an abandoned factory. If Clarissa played tricks again, he would kidnap her.

After knowing his choice, Clarissa said it was not good, but she was happy. It would not be easy for

Channing to get the documents back in the premise that he did not finish the work.

Besides, he threatened her that he would Adelaide about everything she had done.

This was the most intolerable point for her. She had been worried about how to trick Channing to an

abandoned place and to give him a lesson, but now Channing himself chose an abandoned factory. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Both men gloated over their respective ideas.

Channing looked down at the watch on his wrist, it was 2:30.

That woman was late again. She had been always late for other’s business.

"Shit!"

Channing couldn't help but curse. Clarissa did not answer his phone, and now he had stomachache, so

he decided to go to toilet first.

Fortunately, this factory’s toilet was easy to be found. Channing with the fastest speed now ran to the

toilet, which was the old style squatting toilet with spider web in to. He found one without webs and

squatted down in a hurry.

After that, when he was about to get up, he heard two strong men talking while walked in.

"Brother, what if we chop the wrong person without a picture?"

"This place is so deserted that we will not make mistake. Besides, didn't the bitch say, "Male, 5'7",

cripple!

If it was the wrong one, we still chop him, we got paid anyway."

The man called “brother” slapped on the back of the other man’s head.

Male?

5'7"?

A cripple?

Wasn't it himself they were looking for?

He lifted his pants and shrunk into a corner where they couldn't see him.

The other man smiled and scratched his head.

"Right, you are smart. Heck, it stinks!"

Hearing that, Channing's heart was in his throat. The man's words made Channing's forehead break

out in sweat, fearing that they might find him here.

The “brother” said, "Damn, don't toilets stink?"

The two men left as soon as they finished using the toilet. The “Brother” didn't realize the fact that the

toilet had been abandoned for a long time.

Channing was scared in a cold sweat. When the two people left, he followed them quietly.

Unfortunately this factory was an old closed building, or maybe it was to save trouble, there was only

one gate. If he wanted to get out he had to go through the gate.

The fence was full of moss and two meters high, so he could not get out across the wall. Channing

went quietly to the gate and found a dozen people standing there. He could not fight with them. And he

was anxious, but could not think of any way.

Channing cursed Clarissa's in heart. He could not find a way out, so he sighed and had to think of

solution sitting in the corner, while vigilantly watched out for those men looking for them.

After a while, he decided to pretend to be a beggar. He found tiles on the ground, scraped holes in his

shoes and clothes, and then rolled around in the dirt without regard for his image, not leaving every

inch clean in his face or hair.

He found a sack on the ground nearby and hurriedly stuffed rocks in it to make his limping feet look like

they were dragging on the ground because he was pulling the sack.

All along the way he was timid and afraid that he would be discovered, but luckily he did look like a

beggar. Those people would not beat a beggar though they were paid.

Luckily because work ethic, they subconsciously put away the iron bars in their hands upon seeing

Channing, and one man stopped him.

"Old man, have you seen a cripple?"

Old man?

He really did look like an old man now. Channing shook his head sheepishly, bracing himself against

the rocks and heading out. Not to mention his sweat-soaked back, even his hands and feet were

trembling for fear that he might be spotted by the men.

At every step Channing felt countless eyes looking at him. He was so scared and when he was about a

hundred meters away from the men, he was suddenly called.

"Beggar, don't run!"

One man thought there was something wrong with his leg. He looked like a cripple, so he pulled out his

own iron bar and shouted, followed by other men.

Channing shuddered and hurriedly dropped the sack he was holding as he dragged his legs and ran as

fast as he could.

Within moments, he was caught.

He was about to beg for mercy, but the men didn't even listen to him and hit him with iron bars. He

clutched his head with both hands in the mess.

After a long time, he finally heard someone shout "The police are here!"

The thugs left quickly.

Then a man got out of a fancy car and he bent down and asked.

"Those people escaped. Can you get up?"

Channing gritted his teeth and staggered to his feet.

That man was none other than Antonio's uncle, Alvin, who pretended to be kind and asked the driver to

help Channing to the car.

"Little brother, do you want me to take you to the hospital?"

He asked.

The appearance of Channing at the moment was appalling. His blood mixed with the mud on his body.

His head was fortunately protected, otherwise he would have fallen in a pool of blood now.

The hatred in his heart was infinite. He wished to Clarissa's home to break her bones all over her body

immediately. At this moment, his mind was full of killing Clarissa, so how could he have the mind to go

to the hospital?

Gritting his teeth, he said thank you to the man who had sort of saved his life.

"If you're not busy, you can drop me off at the Baron family."

He was afraid that Clarissa, knowing that the group of thugs missed to kill him, would move his

documents elsewhere, and if he really killed her, he would have double crime and may be executed to

death immediately.

Knowing Clarissa's weakness, he decided to first find Adelaide.

Alvin raised eyebrow and agreed to help.

Channing gave the driver the address of Baron's house and the driver started the car slowly. Perhaps

because he looked so wretched, Alvin thoughtfully handed him a pack of wet wipes.

After thanking him, Channing wiped his face clean.
