Chapter 12 It's Good to Have a Strong Background

Adelaide cleaned the room. Damla had already become Clarissa’s supporter, chasing behind Clarissa

all the time. Now she looked more like a dog instead of a human.

Nevertheless, in this way, Adelaide didn’t have to worry. In order to maintain her figure as a reasonable

and virtuous woman, Clarissa would still be polite to Adelaide.

Now she could feel happy as long as she touched her belly. This was probably the connection between

the mother and the son. Adelaide liked this feeling very much.

Damla didn’t prepare food for her deliberately. She would walk to the supermarket to buy lots of milk

and supplement. As long as she told others that she was pregnant and paid some money, there would

always be some kind people who helped her carry the stuffs to the cab.

After they finished eating, Adelaide would make her own food and wash the dishes. Her life was very

content and happy. After the meals, she would make herself a cup of hot milk, and she felt that she

looked fatter in front of the mirror.

This day Antonio woke up early and went to the company and Damla went to buy stuffs. There were

only Adelaide and Clarissa in the house.

After heating up the milk, Adelaide didn’t want to talk to Clarissa at all, so she went back to the room in

a hurry.

Before she drank the milk, the door was knocked. She knew who it was without guessing. When there

was nobody, the two’s daily routine was quarreling and throwing things around.

The doctor said the first three months of pregnancy was especially important. A careless move might

lead to miscarriage. The baby was the only hope that she kept being strong. She was too lazy to argue

with the person outside.

Adelaide thought the person outside would understand the silence and leave when she lost interest.

However, Adelaide really underestimated her sister’s skill as a shrew.

She heard the ear-piercing yelling from outside, “Adelaide, I know you are in there. How dare you keep

staying in Antonio’s house with an illegitimate child in your belly.”

“How dare you stay here after cheating on him.”

“Adelaide, your bitch-like mother gave birth to a little bitch like you. Now you are pregnant with an

illegitimate child.”

Her mother was treated unjustly. Adelaide always believed in this.

Adelaide could withstand the insults on her, but she could not accept someone else to curse her

mother and the child in her belly.

Adelaide sat up from the sofa and walked to the bedside table, searching within. She then picked up a

red book and walked to the door. She opened the door and showed the red book.

“Clarissa, first of all, I am Antonio’s legitimate spouse and you’re just a mistress. Whether or not the

child in your belly is Antonio’s remains to be investigated. Even if it is, the baby is illegitimate. Second,

this is my house. At last, my mother and the child in my belly are innocent.”

Her pale face became red after saying all those words, but her eyes were so clear that Clarissa could

never compare with her.

“Innocent? If so, why would dad bring you to do the DNA test back then, instead of suspecting me?”

Clarissa’s face was full of blushed rage the moment she saw the marriage certificate.

“You!”

This is the disgrace in Adelaide’s life as well as the largest wound. Being doubted by her biological

father was such a great pain. Although she told herself that it was nothing and Clarissa would only use

those mean measures to uncover her wound, yet she still couldn’t look straight into this ridiculous past

every time when she heard about it.

Seeing this, Clarissa said with a smile, “What? Nothing to say? As the saying goes: there’s no wave

without the wind. It’s your mother who’s bitching and now so is her daughter— Stealing someone else’s

husband and walk tall.”

“You!”

“What you? Bitch. You’re just an illegitimate child who’s pregnant with another illegitimate child!”

Slap!

Adelaide threw away the marriage certificate and slapped on Clarissa’s left face. The thick powder on

her face dropped along with the wind as though the white snow falling to the ground and sticking to

Adelaide’s palm.

“How dare you beat me!” Before she responded, she was slapped. The move was so fast and forceful

that her left face reddened immediately. This slap was really powerful.

Adelaide sniffed and warned her seriously, “This slap is just a reminder for you. It will not be that simple

next time.”

Clarissa was used to the Adelaide who was soft and good-tempered and now she couldn’t believe what

just happened.

After a while, Clarissa recovered from the shock and felt the burning on her face. It wasn’t until now

that she realized that she was actually beaten by Adelaide! When would she be bullied normally? No

matter at home, at school or when marrying, Adelaide would suck all the insults and be submissive to

her.

The feeling of pain made her break out!

“You bastard! How dare you beat me!” She even saved the word “bitch”, Clarissa directly poked the

most painful spot of Adelaide’s heart and raised her hand. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

Adelaide closed her eyes subconsciously, knowing that she couldn’t dodge the slap. A few seconds

had passed, she didn’t feel the pain on her face as she had imagined. Adelaide opened her eyes

confusedly.

Slap!

But the other side of Clarissa’s face reddened at the moment.
