Chapter 321 Mr. Ryan You're Out of My League (3)
It was the night before New Year's Day when Kenneth saw Eloise again.
Kenneth had a 12-hour meeting and was exhausted. On the way back to the hotel, he was resting with
his eyes closed in the car.
There were two lavender bunny dolls next to him.
They were cute and cuddly, but they looked out of place.
Kaleb turned and said with a smile, "You'll be able to see Eloise tomorrow. It's been a long time. She
may be no longer mad at you."
Kenneth stroked the bunny ears and said, "She's such a baby. I don't want to see her that much."
Kaleb laughed.
Kenneth laughed along with him...
In a good mood, Kenneth rolled the window down, looked out at the lights, and sighed, "A year has
passed! I'm one year older!"
Kaleb said softly, "You're still in your prime!"
He was not wrong about that.
Given Kenneth's age and position, he was indeed in his prime.
Hearing this, Kenneth patted his pants leg and laughed, "I'm in my prime? Madelyn is going to be a
mom next year, and I'm going to be a granduncle..."
There were only three of them in the car, so they talked freely.
Kaleb joked, "With your ability, it wouldn't be hard for you to have a baby!"
The driver laughed.
Kenneth lit a cigarette and laughed, "You're getting more out of line, dude!"
Kaleb made some more witty remarks.
The atmosphere in the car was lively. The car went further and then stopped by Fortune Square at a
red light. The driver smiled and said, "Mr. Ryan, they seem to be celebrating New Year over there. It's
lively."
Kenneth looked over.
It was indeed lively.
There was a fireworks display. The fireworks lit up the night sky and brightened up the city. It was very
beautiful.
On the square, a group of young people were having fun.
There were some famous cars around. It could be seen that they were rich kids.
Kenneth caught a glimpse of Eloise in the crowd.
She was wearing a big white down coat and a woolen hat, with a sparkler in her hand. She was like a
little girl.
Her face was red, and her smile was much brighter than the fireworks...
Kenneth stared at Eloise silently.
It turned out that she had a great time when he was missing her.
He thought that she would be sad for a long time.
Kaleb read Kenneth's thoughts and pretended to be surprised. "Isn't that Eloise? It's not safe for a girl
to hang out in the middle of the night. Why don't we get her in the car and take her home?" This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Kenneth played along.
He smoothed his woolen pants, then opened the door to get out of the car.
He stood not far from her, exuding extraordinary dignity. He thought if Eloise looked up, she could see
her Uncle Ryan...
Suddenly, the crowd erupted.
"Propose to her!"
"Propose to her!
"Propose to her! Propose to her!"
...
A young man, holding a rose, got down on one knee as fireworks exploded in the sky.
He told Eloise that he liked her.
Kenneth saw that Eloise covered her mouth, seemingly in shock.
He also caught a sincere look on that young man's face, and that young man seemed to like Eloise so
much...
Kenneth didn't walk forward.
Even though he already stepped out of the car.
Even though he already thought of his opening line.
Kenneth just stood there, watching Eloise quietly. Later, he rubbed his forehead and laughed...
How conceited he was!
At that time, Eloise followed Kenneth around and called him Uncle Ryan, but he forgot the fact that she
had lots of choices. The Clark family was the wealthiest family in the North, and Eloise was pretty. A girl
like her could have anyone she wanted.
The Clark family only had two children.
Madelyn, Eloise's sister-in-law, wasn't a hard nut to crack. Benjamin would take care of Eloise for the
rest of her life if she wanted.
Eloise could remain single for the rest of her life as she liked.
But what could Kenneth give her?
The StellaLou he lined up to buy, or his true feelings that he bottled up?
It was ridiculous!
Kenneth had never felt so self-loathing in his life... Eloise looked up and saw him in his light-colored
tweed suit that accentuated his good figure, grace, and dignity.
Kenneth was shinier than the whole night sky.
In front of Eloise was the young man who said he liked her...
Eloise unconsciously murmured, "Uncle Ryan!"
Kenneth looked at her silently.
After what seemed an eternity, Kenneth felt his eyes hurt. A faint smile curled his mouth as he nodded
at Eloise. Then he got into the black RV.
Four black Audi drove away slowly.
Kenneth sat in the car, with two cute rabbit dolls beside him.
With his eyes closed, Kenneth leaned back and whispered to Kaleb in the front seat, "Book a flight for
tomorrow morning."
Kaleb hesitated about saying his thoughts.
After a few moments, he summoned up the courage to say, "You were supposed to give her what you
lined up for personally."
Kenneth held a hand over his eyes. His Adam's apple moved up and down in his throat. "Have
someone send the dolls to Madelyn, and tell her that it's for her and Eloise. Don't say I bought them."
Kenneth was too proud to let anybody know that he fell in love with Eloise.
He gave her up again.
Kenneth sat silently in the car. He had never felt inferior before. But when the young man told Eloise he
liked her, Kenneth felt less confident.
What he did was too insignificant compared to what that young man did...
Kenneth felt unworthy of Eloise.
The fireworks were all over the sky, and everywhere was bustling with life. But unbeknownst to
Kenneth, the girl he loved was standing there all alone behind him...
As the bell rang at the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve, Eloise mouthed Kenneth's name with red
eyes, "Uncle Ryan..."
