Chapter 17 So Cruel
Madelyn came back to the restaurant just as she was about to go on stage.
David left her alone. He waited until Madelyn got off work and found a place to talk this thing with her.
Florence was obedient and Madelyn agreed to teach her.
David paid high tuition, and he paid two months of tuition at one time. This helped Madelyn a little with
her financial problem.
She knew that David was helping her out in another way. Madelyn might have refused in the past, but
now she had no energy to care about her pride.
She got home after work, but Camila wasn't home.
Madelyn called and Camila said she'd be back in a minute. NôvelDrama.Org © content.
Camila returned about half an hour later. When Madelyn was about to take some food for her, she saw
that Camila's arm was swollen.
"What's wrong with your arms?" Madelyn helped Camila sit down.
Camila said casually, "I'm getting old and useless. I just did some things, and my hands is swollen."
Madelyn thought of something and was shocked.
She immediately checked Camila's palm.
She saw several bright blisters original well-maintenance and delicate palms.
Madelyn stared in amazement.
After a long time, her tears fell. She randomly wiped it but could not suppress the mood...
She treated Camila's wound and applied medicine to it. Then she went back to the room and took
Camila 10,000 dollars.
She wouldn't let Camila do any more work.
During the night, Madelyn cried for a long time.
When she got up early in the morning, there were clear dark circles on her eyes. She used a lot of
concealer but failed to cover them.
Over breakfast, Camila told her, "Take some rest if you can't stand it. If things get worse, I'll even sell
that small apartment."
Madelyn reassured her, "It'll get better, Camila. I'll take care of myself."
Camila said nothing more.
Madelyn packed her bag and went to Music Center to work.
As soon as she clocked in, a colleague told her in secret. "Ms. Clark want to meet you! Madelyn, if you
don't want to see him, we will tell you're off work."
Madelyn was stunned. Then she saw Eloise.
Madelyn didn't hate Eloise, but didn't want to have anything to do with her either, so she had to bother
her colleagues.
But Eloise saw her.
Eloise came up to her frankly and naturally with a pretty and cute look on her face. "Madelyn, I want to
know why you won't play for my birthday party? Don't you like me?"
She asked. There was a silence.
All of Madelyn's colleagues in the Music Center knew the history of Madelyn and Daniel.
Now Daniel's fiancee asked Madelyn to like her, which was too cruel for Madelyn.
Madelyn was embarrassed by the sympathetic, pitying gazes.
She whispered to Eloise, "I'm busy that day, Ms. Clark. I'm sorry. Please find someone else."
Eloise wouldn't give up.
When Madelyn was at work, she was drinking coffee outside and waiting until Madelyn left at noon.
She stopped Madelyn.
"Madelyn, let's have coffee!" Eloise bothered her.
Madelyn was good-natured, but unable to calm down in front of Eloise. She walked to a simple
restaurant where she usually went.
Eloise, who followed Madelyn with high heels and a designer outfit, asked annoyingly, "You can't come
to my birthday party, but can you help me with my wedding dress? David says you have good taste.
Madelyn, help me... Daniel will come over later and we'll have dinner together. Madelyn, can you give
us some advice?"
Madelyn's face was pale.
She was betrayed by Daniel. Her father was going to jail, and she was forced by Daniel to be his
mistress.
But Eloise knew nothing. She was still demanding that Madelyn loved her as others did.
So cruel!
